It was Christmas Day morning we discovered a slow leak in our basement. I called a handful of companies I found on Google, John's team was the only team to call me back the same afternoon and immediately offered me free advice on what to do myself. He didn't need to come same day, so we booked for next day. He arrived himself with all his tools to check for water and mould. For the last two months, he's been the only person who cares and has been following the details, everything from the emergency work to the things insurance missed in their own estimate of our house. He's one of those guys who works for the big insurance companies, they know him, his reputation and his estimates are realistic. He was able to get what we needed to restore the damage from the flood. No disputes, super smooth, I'm super happy. If it wasn't because of him I wouldn't have noticed the low estimate our insurance company offered at first. I recently hired them to do some emergency water extraction from my flooded basement and while the technical crew who performed the work, were fine, as was the quality of the work, the lack of direct and clear communication from the office staff is extremely poor and unacceptable. There are way better companies out there who will respond just as quickly in emergency situations, with more professionalism and far less misunderstanding.

However, as part of the remediation job, they had to remove a large piece of dry wall. The removal was included in the scope of work. It's my own stupidity to interpret that as the same dry wall will be replaced to put the place back to its original condition. The remediation person also said that the dry wall will be removed and replaced afterwards. It's also my own stupidity to interpret both removing and replacing are part of the same job. After the remediation was completed, they also told me verbally that "don't worry, the wall will be fixed". But no, the replacement is not part of the quote and they conveniently left that out. When I called to discuss, they (Kevin, Phil and Juan) said it's my own fault for not reading the scope carefully and for misinterpreting that replacing the dry wall was included in the scope. I'll eat this myself and lesson learned. And I just want to share my story as to this is how GTA Restoration conduct businesses with their customers. Now I will never work again with this company nor will I recommend to anyone because how they have cheated and taken advantage.

There was no comparison to Restoration 1, they blew the competition away. The quoting process was easy, Eric came by right away and provided a very competitive price. He was easy to work with and helped me navigate the nightmare of working with my insurance company. Rob, their construction manager, sealed the deal though. His level of service was beyond compare. Every company said it would be impossible to match my existing flooring so I would need to replace all flooring because it's continuous throughout my condo. Naturally, I asked to see what they would be replacing it with. Rob came by with his bag of samples so I could see my options - my insurance contractor would not do this without first giving them the job, which is just crazy. Rob took one look at my floor and said "This is a nice floor, I don't have any standard samples you'll like. I'll have to track something down." And he did! He contacted a bunch of suppliers and a few weeks later he came to both my home and work to review the samples he found. He worked his ass off and made sure he found something I liked. The work itself was executed flawlessly. I decided to get my place painted while they were doing the floors, paid out of pocket since that wasn't covered by insurance. Again, great pricing on the painting. Very high quality work - they take their time and pay attention to the small details. I had a very small punchlist when they were done and they took care of it all without any complaints. I would both recommend them to others and I would use them again if I ever need work done. I found and reviewed them on Homestars as well, which is a great place to look for contractors.

Daniel's brother helped service a slow draining kitchen sink issue. Previously we tried a bunch of…read moredraino and hot water but still had an issue later on. So we called a professional. Given his stellar 5-star reviews we felt comfortable hiring F1. His quote was reasonable and though he wasn't available to come immediately, only a few days later. We originally agreed for him to visit on Friday but somehow he or his bro made a mistake and visited on Thursday, when no one was home at that time he came. He did come back on Friday at our scheduled time and fix the issue with the electric power snake. I wasn't present when he did it but someone else was in my place. He also didn't send a follow up text to tell me it's fixed, diagnoses, photos or how to prevent it. But at the same time, he's also patient and didn't ask me to pay until I prompted him several hours later asking about the status of the job. I suppose he's a busy man! Communication could be better, just keep in mind you may have to prompt him again to get your receipt later. What's important is that it's fixed and working properly.

He offered fast, friendly, and affordable service! Some things I learned: I noticed he didn't caulk the new toilet and after asking, he advised that high rise don't allow that in the gta. He also advised that the kitchen sink was incorrectly installed by the former condo owner. He did a great job replacing it and removing as much of the incorrect caulk/glue as he could. We had to get rid of the old toilet ourselves but I think that's built into the cost since I was quoted at least $40 more by other plumbers who offered that service. Overall, I recommend Daniel's plumbing services. The sink and toilet are still working great.
