We also had additional quotes like most people on here, but found Naz to be very well spoken. We live in an older home and had to tackle everything when it comes to a complete Reno a step at a time. Naz and his crew completely rebuilt our ancient drain system and all did all the waterproofing inside our home. Our basement looked so much better than it originally did. We also built a bathroom in the basement and had to build everything from scratch. It took a bit longer than anticipated but the end result is worth the wait. I can't say enough good things about Nazar and his crew. We hired Canadian Rooter for the first step in finishing our basement. This was a big complicated job for a 100 year old house where the basement hadn't been touched in 100 years. The job included removal of the old concrete and walls, new drainage, waterproofing, sump pump, crawlspace excavation, and a new concrete slab with hydronic infloor heating. Just as the job started we had a family emergency that kept us extremely stressed, busy, and away from home for days at a time. Nazar said "leave it to me" and took care of everything. His crew, including Andrew, are extremely knowledgeable, hard working (I mean really hard working!), and completely trustworthy good guys. They did an outstanding job, handling all of the inevitable complications (city drain that needed clearing, permit issues, last minute change in design from the engineer) - keeping me posted but not asking for anything from me. There are probably other companies that can do this work, but I doubt you'll find one run by someone with the honesty, standards, and integrity that Nazar has. read more

BEWARE HIRING THIS COMPANY!!!! My mother-in-law needed water proofing done to her house several years ago. After meeting with several contractors for the work she decided to go with CanadianRooter after speaking with the owner of the company Naz. During the process of water proofing my mother-in-law was informed that there would be substantial increases to the cost of the work due to alleged foundational issues (the price nearly tripled from the initial quote). This wasn't even the most frustrating issue with the work, as literally every spring our basement has flooded since the work was done. After the first time it flooded we contacted Naz and he had someone come take a look at it (roughly a week later). He said it was an issue with the pump that was installed and informed us that the issue would be resolved. However again it flooded due to rain and snow melting in the spring and this time when we called Naz he came out himself (again, several days after the flooding). After looking at the basement himself he informed us that the basement was flooding due to our neighbours sump-pump flooding our lawn as well as our gutters down-spout not being attached properly. He also told us that the work was done at a discount and tried telling us that he only charged my mother in law (who was out of the country at the time we had Naz come take a look at the flooding) the initial quote when in reality he charged her almost three times that and we had access to those receipts. The water proofing was supposed to be warrantied but Naz essentially told us that the basement leaking was not his fault. He did offer to "fix" the problem, quoting us an additonal 10,000$ that he would discount down to 6,000$ to perform the necessary work to do so. We even had other water proofing companies come take a look as a second opinion and they all said that there was no reason the basement should leak if the work was done properly and that many things were done incorrectly. Now I am stuck using a shop vac and fans to bail out water and ensure our basement isn't flooded and damp. Overall we are extremely upset and disappointed with the work, as well as the lack of integrity that this company has to stand behind their work. This was a massive job that costed a large sum of money to ensure the waterproofing that was supposed to bring peace of mind but instead has been nothing but headaches and frustration. We can't help but feel like we got scammed. I can't stress enough that if you're looking for water proofing done to your home that you should seek this work elsewhere. read more

Clear communication the whole way, work was done exactly when they said, no tricks or games on the invoice either. The price quoted is the price charged. And best of all, they left no mess. I called to get an idea of pricing, by this company, for a backwater valve. A "specialist" was needed to call me back. When a person called back he was so rude on the phone that I would never hire this company... no matter what the price. I had received a flyer in the mail about 300 dollars off ... but in his attempt to explain his pricing on the service I asked about, there was no mention of the 300 dollars off. Sounds like a bait and switch to me... another reason not to trust this company. Don't bother to hire these guys, they have no idea about customer service and good communication skills. read more

Our home was built over 60 years ago, and we recently experienced a drain back-up in our basement after a torrential downpour. Immediately, we phoned a plumber whom we trust for a referral, since good people know good people. He highly recommended Naz and Canadian Rooter, and are we ever glad he did. Naz came out the same day we contacted him, and his professionalism was more than evident. As soon as he entered our home, he donned booties over his shoes. The drain in question is under a rec room carpet, and we had visions of his having to cut the carpet to get at it. Instead, Naz very carefully pulled the carpet up to take a look. Even though he had received calls from other potential customers, he arranged for his men to come out on a Saturday to do the work. Like Naz, they were extremely professional with the necessary digging and installation of a new drain, leaving our basement as clean as when they arrived. Even better, Naz offered to return to restore the carpet to its original moorings, which he did as soon as the concrete had dried. If you need help with your drain, Naz and Canadian Rooter will do an exceptional job. read more
