He then left without putting it back on. The cover exposed wiring. I called the service center, but was ignored. I had to fashion a piece of sheet metal to cover it. I've used them three times now, but won't likely be using them again. The first time was a good experience, the second time they sent out a different tech, even though I made a request for a specific tech and they confirmed that the requested tech would be there. I just feel like they are somewhat disingenuous and I don't think I will be using them again.

I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. They raised the price by 25% (even though I had the price in writing prior to commencing work) because they needed to rent equipment to dig the hole (they originally tried to dig it by hand) and it would take a second day. They said they also needed a second day so the city inspector could inspect it, but the city doesn't require a permit or an inspection, so that was a bold face lie. When I question why there never was an inspection that they insisted was necessary, the owner told me it was because he's so well known in this city. In reality, he had to register with the city to do my job, which means they hadn't worked in this city for at least a year. They also couldn't find the proper wrench to install a clamp. They asked the kid across the street for a hose so they could clean their equipment even though I was there and outside the whole time. They simply were not prepared to do the work even though they were advised of the extent of the job prior to starting. They did replace a 5' section of pipe but not the fitting that connects it to the city's water main even though a city water worker gave them the fitting for free. They said they didn't need it (so they could do the very minimum amount of work). The bigger problem is that they hit the fitting with the backhoe and cracked it (I was outside when they broke it and heard them talking about it), so 13 months later the fitting they hit (and didn't replace) caused another leak. Not only would they not stand by their work in any way, the owner told me they couldn't help me and good luck. Ultimately, I had to pay another company to do the job over. The second company replaced the whole water main for the same price that Owens charged for a 5' piece and shoddy work that lasted barely over a year.

After reading about Edwards, I called and left a message. Within the hour I was called back and we arranged a time. As the time approached, I received a text they were going to be 15 minutes late. When they arrived at that time, they went straight to the furnace and got busy troubleshooting. I watched them work and was impressed with the systematic way they used to zoom in on the problem. When it was determined what component failed, they had one in the truck. Before replacing the component, they looked for the reason why the component failed. They found a restriction/blockage.
