Best ice cream in Wisconsin!! They serve ice cream from Cedar Crest in Manitowoc, home of Bernice the giant cow. We went to the Door County Ice Cream factory too. It was good, but Grumpys is far better!! The owner is an older man with a great sense of humor. Generous portions! Lots of flavors! Fun patio to sit and relax. read more

Ice cream was fine. No samples (totally get it - on busy nights this can get out of hand and really slow down service). Popcorn was very good! The girls working were very grumpy (maybe that's the point?) - like to the point I felt bad even ordering at all because I was bothering them. Won't be returning read more

Grumpy's is serving Cedar Crest ice cream and fresh kettle corn. The place is small with only a couple of tables. I liked that they were open until 9PM. The ice cream was fine but I would've preferred something locally made in Door County. read more

Great service cool small town beach ice cream shop vibe. Just wish they had more ice cream options that were unique. read more

Grumpy's - Cool decor - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

I get the hype! Who doesn't love the small-town ice cream parlor? All vaca towns need a spot like this. We strolled in off the main strip, and immediately thought the decor (including the seasonal Halloween decorations out front), was all great. A few picnic tables and chairs out front, and minimal seating inside. Friendly staff welcomed us, despite being busy serving more customers ahead of us. We browsed the many flavors through the glass... I'd say at least a dozen. From what I gathered the ice cream is Cedar Crest brand. How does one choose!? In the end, Elephant Tracks were the winner and boy was it taste. My two year old would also attest to this! We just got a cup and it was plenty, but they have your usual line up of cone options, including chocolate dipped (yum). Despite the ice cream not made in house, you'll also find tons of other homemade goodies here, including sweet and savor popcorn options, fudge (the dessert of Door County, I'd say!), a variety of speciality bottled sodas, and cotton candy. I mean if this isn't the place for your sweet tooth fix, I don't know where is! read more

I love an old fashioned ice cream shop and this fit the bill. Every time we walked by, we would see a line (very manageable) and see people from all walks of life just enjoying their treats with family and friends. A smile on every face! read more

Every vacation town needs an ice cream parlor, and Grumpy's fits the bill cutely. Ice cream is Cedar Crest brand, I think about 16 flavors. All of it was very good. I'd say that their sundaes need to be a little smaller or else come in a bigger dish, because mine was an absolute mess by the second bite. About 10% ended up on my hands and table. They also offer housemade popcorn in various flavors. The aroma of fresh kettle corn that envelops you as you walk in is just as enticing as the ice cream. read more

Grumpy's did not have wide range of flavor options. Ice cream was ok the brand was Cedar-crest. Service was good.

Stopped here to buys two scoops of ice cream for two little granddaughters girls...one 5 and one 2! Children who look at ice cream and order with their eyes! The 5 year old saw red cherry and said that is what she wanted. Problem is I didn't think she would enjoy the amaretto cherry mixture so I asked for a sample...you know ..just a tiny tiny taste! Only to be told no!!! Like what! There are 18 of us on this trip...the other 16 will not step foot in this place! read more

We stopped by Grumpy's in Egg Harbor on a beautifully warm, sunny Monday afternoon. The wide selection of ice cream flavors was very appealing, and each of us considering a couple of options. The staff was attentive and quickly scooped generous helpings into our selected cones. The coconut explosion ice cream, which was coconut ice cream with chocolate chunks in it, was delicious. The elephant tracks ice cream was also good. Another in our party had the Mackinac Island fudge ice cream and spoke very highly of it. I enjoyed my Wisconsin S'mores ice cream, graham flavored ice cream with marshmallow and crushed peanut butter cups, in a chocolate and sprinkles dipped cone. Such a wonderful, tasty treat, and we enjoyed sitting outside under an umbrella, enjoying sunshine, fresh air, and flowers. If you want a sweet treat in a fun location, you can't go wrong with Grumpy's. (And who can grumpy with this kind of treat?) read more

Small space and very popular. Good ice cream. We all enjoyed. Great outside space to sit (very small so limited)

Pretty good ice cream. So great to get a grumpy attitude. No samples, kind of like the soup Nazi. Love it. If you want a Chicago, New York attitude with your ice cream, great place to stop by. read more

What a great place! Al the owner served us with great hospitality and joy. We had ice cream and sat on the front porch. I had Cookies and Cream on a waffle cone and wifey had Mud Something on a wafer cone. We also ordered popcorn straight from the kettle. Before long, Al was out on the deck with us sharing stories of the past and present. What a privilege it was to meet him and learn about the area. Highly recommend without any reservations. Ice cream was delicious. read more

Good ice cream and reasonably priced. Nice staff, stopped in one evening after hiking. Seating outside seemed pretty popular with tourists and locals alike. read more

The ice cream is good, but not made in house which is a major drawback. The patio was nice with some lovely prairie plants all around. The inside though completely lacks charm - it didn't really have the feel of a fun ice cream shop. read more

Delicious ice cream and friendly service!! We had Pirate's Booty, Caramel Collision, Door County Cherry and Lemon Ice. All fabulous!! And a little cookie comes on top! The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was due to a weak waffle cone (got messy!). We will be back!! PS Haven't tasted the popcorn yet. read more

Located conveniently on the main strip of Egg Harbor, Grumpy's provides the perfect ending to dinner. Or if you can't wait that long, a quick cool bite. We were on our way to the market when we spotted Grumpy's across the street. It was calling us, so we stopped inside. Greeted warmly and asked about samples, the staff is very friendly. To the left, there is an assortment of flavored popcorn (the chocolate banana popcorn was spot on), and old school popcorn machine. To the right, assorted root beers and sodas (you can make your own 2/4/6 pack). Straight ahead, the ice cream. Make your way there. After sampling the deliciousness that was the Mackinac fudge (what remained, as there wasn't enough for a scoop), I ordered a scoop of Shipwrecked, which was vanilla ice cream with swirled caramel and splintered almonds. OMG IT WAS DELICIOUS. The sweet and saltiness of the caramel was PERFECT, combined with the slight sweetness of the ice cream... My eyes are fluttering just at the memory of it. I will definitely be returning to try more of their ice cream. read more

Crave ice cream (or popcorn, or cotton candy?) you have to come here. Great ice cream, great flavors, and absolutely awesome service. Grab a cone, sit on the front patio or walk down to catch the sunset at the harbor. read more

The best thing about the place was they have waffle cones dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. I asked for a military discount and the owner said no and she looked at me with a look that said, How Dare You. I was extremely offended. Not bec of not getting a discount but because it seemed like my service for this country offended her. Now I know why they call it Grumpy's. Oh, the ice cream tastes like it came from Walmart. read more

We have a cottage in Egg Harbor and my daughter wanted ice cream. For some reason I'd never been to Grumpy's. It was cute and there were other treats like brownies & other Confections. I got a dish of the Shipwreck which had almonds, vanilla ice cream & caramel laced through it if I remember correctly. My daughter had a sherbert type thing called Superman & blue moon in a pretty chocolate dipped waffle cone. It cost $13, I gave a small tip, but it felt really expensive which bugged me. Other than that though, it was yummy and an overall great experience, which was the main point: to enjoy ourselves together & in Door County. I recommend it highly, just watch out for the extras, cuz it can add up. Here's the beautiful rainbow after Superman dropped on ground. read more

We circled back because of the sign and am glad we did. The gentleman who helped us with the fudge was just as sweet and adorable as possible. He said his wife makes all the fudge fresh every week and it was delicious! We got the cashew popcorn which was also really good. Super cute little shop! Would definitely visit again! read more

As my family and I were walking to the door as a couple just exited, they locked the door and turned off the lights. There were a few more people walking up the sidewalk at the same time. My daughter tried to open the door and it was locked. I looked at my phone and there was 23 minutes before the posted close time of 9pm. I tried thinking she wasn't strong enough to open it and it certainly was locked. We then heard the employees then laugh through the open windows not realizing we can hear them. So I told my family of 6 and the others behind us that they closed early.... Never getting my business and telling others to stay away and happily share my story how Grumpys made us all Grumpy.... We'll done! read more

We loved having ice cream here with our two littles on our first day of vacation after we packed a beach picnjc. They didn't have an extensive amount of flavors but the ones they had hit the spot. Good service and friendly staff. No grumpy people that I could see. :) I would definitely go back and highly recommend if you're in the area craving some cold treats. read more

Great little Ice Cream/Snack Shop. I can only speak for the ice cream as we didn't try any of the other snacks they have to offer; although if we'd had the time I would have loved to go back and try some of their fudge or popcorn as both looked delicious. The ice cream comes in some great unique flavors and the servings are more very generous for the price. The Caramel Collision was a perfect blend of flavors for any caramel lovers, read more

Came here during the week of 4th of July. We were staying at the campground in Egg Harbor and took the short drive over. There was a young girl helping us. She recommended the coconut explosion. It didn't disappoint. It was excellent! I love the options they had with all the different snacks and treats. The outdoor area was cute and eclectic as well. Highly recommend! read more

Cute little ice cream shop. So many flavors to choose from. They also have other things to pick from like popcorn and candy. It's very clean. The people that work there are very nice. read more

Service fits the name. Ice cream is good, but I was given the wrong flavor. When I asked about it, the girl told me I'd ordered the one she'd given me. I said I didn't think so, I hadn't been considering that flavor, but she insisted I had. She did give me the right one, but I was disappointed in her rudeness. I'll be getting my ice cream elsewhere from now on. read more

This place probably has the best Popcorn I have ever had. And there is so many different flavor of it. And the ice cream is amazing. I will be definitely coming back. read more

We had yummy coconut chocolate chip ice and Superman cream! Kids loved the choices. Cute outdoor seating.

The popcorn here is DELICIOUS. As somewhat of a popcorn aficionado, I've eaten a lot of flavored popcorn and this is the best. The corn of the day is warm, salted the perfect amount and with just the right amount of flavor. The prices are fair, service is good, and the product is great. Highly recommend for your stop in Door County! read more

A huge selection of root beers popcorn and ice cream. You can't go just once. There will always be another flavor you'll want to try.

Nothing special and deffinitely not worth 5 stars on Yelp. Enjoyed Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream in Madison - that is 5 star ice cream. Hoping other spots in Door County live up to dreams of delicious Wisconsin ice cream! read more

Grumpy's is a cute place. The ice cream is fantastic. It's Cedar Crest ice cream, made in Cedarburg, Wisconsin (so no, Grumpy is not out back, churning). The popcorn is also delicious and there were many great options. My favorite aspect - and why I would recommend it - is the outdoor area. Lots of outdoor seating, plenty of shade, beautiful flower gardens. After walking around, if you're looking for a nice place to sit with great people watching and delish ice cream, I recommend Grumpy's. read more
