Terrific across the board! It's funny how you end up at places sometimes. We chose Kathy's…read morespecifically for its location (halfway in between our house and a friend's), and that, other than the fact that they serve breakfast, was the only criterion. But what we got was breakfast awesomeness. It's small, with a cozy, "country" feel, as you might expect. Cute. Coffee was strong and plentiful, served in those great diner-style mugs that keep things piping hot for a good long time. Servers were totally on top of their game (the place was jumpin' so they really had to be) and all had that combination of "I'm super nice and glad you're here, but don't you dare slow me down" goodness. And the food? The food was fantastic! Each of the five people in our group got something different, and everyone was super happy with what they got, from cinnamon-raisin French toast with apple butter to a garden vegetable skillet to corned beef hash eggs Benedict. I went simple with a breakfast sandwich with a fluffy scrambled egg, thick-cut pork roll, and Cooper sharp on the lightest, airiest Kaiser roll I've ever had. And do no sleep on their thick cut bacon, which is meaty and delicious and coated in a buttery mapley goodness that tasted like Heaven. Things to note: they only take cash, and on the weekends, there's an hour limit (meaning you can't dawdle) so they don't have lines piling up outside. Breakfast for five of us was just under $80, so reasonably priced. We had a great time. And the next time we go, it'll be because it's just a great spot.

Everything here was very good - Saturday was a little busy - lots of tables still sitting down when…read morewe left - so I wouldn't pay attention to the sign that says "Due to extended wait times for our customers in line, we will be limiting the dining time of those seated to one hour during our busy Breakfast/Lunch hours" But the food was good - thanks again -

All the food and products are from the Amish people. Everyone is so friendly and the service is fast and efficient. My mom ordered a strawberry milkshake. She said it was one of the best milkshakes she ever had. They put a bunch of fresh strawberries inside and she said it wasn't too sweet but just perfect. My husband ordered a cookies and cream milkshake. He also said it was made really well and was not too sweet. Just a clean creamy cookie flavor. Of course we had to try the doughnuts. I ordered an apple and a chocolate with sprinkles. The apple was really good! It was freshly baked, and the filling was delicious and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The chocolate was also very good! They are big donuts too! 2 for $5. Now to the delicious soft pretzels! They are freshly baked, soft, buttery, and delicious!!! You can also get them in garlic, cinnamon, and sour cream and onion. They have pretzel dogs too. Fresh fudge anyone? They have a large variety of fudge treats. They have fresh meats, jewelry, furniture, and other items for sale as well. I wished we had more time to explore and try more things. They are only open on Thursdays and Saturdays until 3:00 PM.

My wife and I…read morevisited the market after learning about it from a "welcome packet" we received after moving into the area. They have something for pretty much everyone - baked goods (donuts, cakes, pies, bread), cheese, pickles, produce, fresh meat, home furnishings. It's surprising how much they can squeeze into the space they have and not feel like it's crowded. There's also tables, cafeteria style, if you choose to eat there. If you visit their website, they offer coupons (e.g., $1 off brownies, free pretzel w/ purchase of a milkshake, etc.) you can print out. Normally, it is only open Thursday through Saturday. During certain holidays they do open other days of the week. For Christmas week, they're open Monday through Wednesday since they're closed on December 25th and 26th. For New Year's week, they're open Wednesday since they're closed on Thursday (New Year's Day).

When choosing a place to host a work event for my department, I usually take lead. This particular…read moreevent was a little more intimate than others I've planned, however there were 14 of us which still required me to go though the events department for most places. The Dutch was referred to me by the events planner of another Andrew Carmellini restaurant - the menu, prices, and vibes looked on point so I decided to pursue booking my event here. The Dutch is one of several restaurants owned by chef Andrew Carmellini. I'm not too familiar with his spots, but I have been to the nearby Lafayette and it has slowly become one of my favorite restaurants. The Dutch checked off several boxes for me since they were able to accommodate a party of our size in a private room, offered a varied menu, and allowed us to purchase drinks as we went instead of locking us into a preset package. The restaurant itself looks great - the decor was somewhat modern, and the private room was a decent size with the walls lined with liquor bottles that made the aesthetics pop. The menu was preset for us when I booked, though they said we could make modifications and add more food if needed. All the food was served family style with three apps, three mains, and two desserts. We started with scallion chipotle cornbread, marinated baby beets, and Chinatown calamari. These were all pretty good - the cornbread was warm and buttery, though I could not really taste any chipotle. The beets were good, but the calamari was the most unique dish for me. The squid was breaded, but then served in somewhat of a salad which added brightness and cut through the heaviness of the fried fish. For mains we had the smoked ricotta agnolotti, the hot fried chicken, and the lemon roasted cod. These were all solid, though I would say I was looking for the smoked in the pasta, the hot in the chicken, and the lemon in the fish. Besides that though, the chicken was fried well and juicy, and the cod was a great consistency - each coming with sides that complemented the proteins well. The pasta was the weakest dish IMO, I probably wouldn't order it if i ever returned. Additionally, they served us sides of broccolini and shoestring fries which were both very good. To close out the meal, we were served chocolate chip cookies and various ice cream scoops which were solid. Service was great - we had a dedicated server and bartender for the evening who were really friendly and accommodating. Outside of that, the communication with the team when making the arrangements was great - Jo was very responsive and made sure all my questions were answered. Overall, we had a good time at The Dutch - the food and vibes were on. I would be curious to return as a regular patron to see how their food and service holds up.
