Louie's nursery is quite a find. It seems that Lowe's and Home depo basically carry the same plants…read moreand it is hard to find different plants anywhere. Well Louie's takes care of that problem. I was quite delighted to see some hard to find plants at Louie's nursery so my house landscaping isn't a cookie cutter of everyone else. The staff are helpful and very knowledgeable. Some of their prices might be a tad more, but not much more (I found some Aloe Vera that were discounted at a great price) and the variety of plants you can find here make it worth it.

I very rarely write poor reviews, but the customer service here was bizarrely terrible. I came in…read moreafter reading the positive reviews, expecting to easily find my (very basic) stone needs, and was greeted with rude, aloof service from the lady at the front desk. Before I had even finished briefly explaining the stone I was looking for, she interrupted to say they couldn't help me in any way. Despite being the only customer in the store, there was zero effort made on her part to be helpful in any way. I'd recommend taking your business to a company that actually wants it.

Absolutely superb garden shop!…read more Mark's hydroponic and organic garden shop is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you can tell he's passionate about what he does. The shop has everything you could possibly need--whether it's everyday gardening essentials or the hard-to-find, unusual items that most places don't carry. Mark himself is super cool, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to answer questions or share tips. It's rare to find a store that feels like both a supply shop and a community resource, but that's exactly what Mark has created. If you're into gardening--hydroponic, organic, or just curious--this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Found this nursery through Facebook Marketplace. After a few weeks of research, I believe this…read moreplace had the cheapest price and value for the type of fruit plants I was looking for. I contacted through FB Messenger (Bill?) as well as text messages. After a hour drive, I ended up with a rio red grapefruit, oro blanco grapefruit, hass avocado, olallieberry and blueberry plants. I was told by Bill that the olallieberry grows good since I was looking for another berry plant. In person, I was slightly disappointed because it didn't have any flower or fruit but my girlfriend encouraged me to just get it. I'm hoping it will show signs of fruiting soon because my blackberry and blueberry plants are already fruiting. All 5 plants still needed a little bit of pruning at home because some or part of the leaves were eaten by unknown pests. Ended up with 4 mosquito bites as well. My only complaint would be the employee there didn't speak or understand much English. The good thing was another customer arrived shortly after, spoke Spanish and helped us translate. GPS to the address was correct for the most part except where it ends. It will take you to a locked gate just a little bit past the orange cones. Instead of following GPS all the way to the end, look for the orange cones and park on the dirt road to the side. The orange cones is where the entrance is at. I may be back for other fruit plants in the future.

So I went to Hanks…read morefor the first time a couple of weeks ago and they have loose screws and nuts and other parts sold by the piece just like Ace hardware. I made Hank's biggest sale of the day two hexagonal head metric screws for 27 cents each. I went to San Diego Ace Hardware in Clairemont Square, where they were charging 95 cents for each screw, vs Hank's 27 cents. I said NO, not paying $2 for two 1.5 inch screws!!! Ace employee said it was expensive because that is now much a METRIC screw costs. I took one of the screws back to Hanks 2 weeks later because it was too short. Hanks happily gave me credit for the 27 cents so I could trade it for a screw half inch longer for onlyh 5 cens more, or 32 cents, when Ace wanted 95 cents for a shorter one.

Unfortunately, one of the keys didn't work, so it ended up being a waste of money. The store is a bit far for me, so going back to have it fixed wasn't worth it, especially with gas prices.
