They sold me an olive tree that was supposedly fruitless. It WASN'T. I got hundreds of olives the last 2 years. Mice love them....OH, and rattlesnakes love mice.... By the time the tree starts yielding olives, it is fairly mature and difficult to remove. Argh! Price seemed decent but it will cost me more in the long run. read more

Since moving into our home 3 years ago, our yard has been bare and needed some life. I've been browsing Home Depot and Lowe's for awhile but had no idea where to begin. Upon arrival to DLM, the nursery was busy with landscapers loading their trucks. I guess it's the go to place for local landscapers. It's a huge nursery with a wide selection including large trees. Prices were half of the big box stores. The plants are also grown locally so they've adapted to the climate. I was greeted by the owner Santiago, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I showed him a photo of my front yard and explained to him I wanted something low maintenance and drought tolerant. He pointed out many plants that fit my criteria. I ended up buying 2 trees and about 20 plants. For a small fee they were able to deliver, and Sergio was also able to come out and plant them. There are not many nurseries out there that'll deliver and plant for you so this place saved me from having to find a separate landscaper. The entire process was great and everyone I dealt with had great customer service. Our yard now has life! Thanks DLM Nursery!! read more

We spent a lot of time driving around to local nurseries looking for giant birds of paradise to replace two in our backyard. Although DLM Nursery didn't have any in stock, the owner ordered some for us and they arrived three days later. He ordered 4 so we could have some to choose from but they all looked healthy. Additionally, he remembered we were having family over for the 4th of July so he had them delivered and planted July 3rd about 20 minutes after I had seen and paid for them. Pros: The best prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent plant health. By far my favorite nursery in the area. Cons: Small parking area, no "specimen" trees in large sizes I've been on a landscaping binge the past month so I've spent a lot of time at local nurseries. After bad experiences at two other popular nurseries in the area I took a chance and stopped into DLM since it's so close to my house. The first thing I noticed was the entire lot was full of trucks from various local landscapers and contractors, which is a really good sign. It's like going to a Chinese restaurant and seeing mostly Chinese families eating there so you know the food is good. The entire staff at DLM was super friendly and knowledgeable, especially Sergio who took his time with us while juggling other customers. We never felt like we needed to beg someone to help us like we did at other nurseries. The prices at this place are so much better than the other nurseries in the area that I thought they were mislabeled initially. I was so impressed with the whole experience at DLM from the prices to the plants to the people, that I ended up coming back the next day with a Uhaul van and bought around 30+ plants for our backyard remodel. The DLM team is also coming out to our house tomorrow to plant a new privacy hedge. If you're in the area and looking for a nursery to be your go-to spot I can't recommend them enough. read more

I love this nursery! When I've compared prices with other local nurseries DLM is always the cheapest. The plants are so healthy and beautiful! Admittedly it is sometimes hard to find someone on site - but I just phone them and tell them where I am on the property, and what I'm interested in purchasing. We stopped going to the larger chain nursery in the Temecula/Murrieta valley as they were very pushy to make the sale and get the pricey installation set up ASAP. DLM has a large variety of plants and trees, shrubs and ground cover. What sets DLM apart has been the customer service. We've worked with Sergio a few times (though everyone we've come into contact with there has been wonderful). Sergio asked what our goals were, worked with our vision and made education suggestions that helped in our planning process. He also made recommendations around planting time (heat was an issues at the time), locations to plant, watering recommendations, and MOST of all, was considerate of my wife's fear of bees when making recommendations. We were always given space to talk, ask questions, come back later, etc. There was no pressure, but constant support. Certain plants and/or sizes that we wanted were ordered in very quickly. If they do not happen to have a particular species of tree on site they offer to bring one from another site for you.
