What a hidden gem about 20 minutes northeast of Greensboro! This will be a spot we will hit over and over on a beautiful sunny day or pleasant evening. Driving on 150 heading east on a quiet and winding road from north Greensboro, you wouldn't expect a little oasis hidden out here. This winery has it all. You are greeted by the friendliest staff as soon as you walk in. Taste a few while you are given great details and insight about the wines and the winery itself, including the unique history of this establishment. I won't spoil the details, as this adds to the pleasant experience. Grab a few glasses of wine, or a bottle, along with some tasty snacks and head to the backyard oasis. Shade and sunny areas throughout. A stage with live music on weekends just adds to the perfect day. A small lake compliments the picturesque scenery surrounding this little establishment. Need to give a shout out to Taylor for his amazing performance encompassing an eclectic variety of genres. From Creedance Clearwater Revival to Bob Marley, and every type of popular band and singer from the 70s to today, thank you!

This is a small local winery that is big on good times! There's a large grassy area with a decent-sized pond on it. There's also a covered area with a concrete slab. On the grassy area is a small gazebo where bands play on some weekends. The costs are pretty cheap online, about $8. The price is about $15 when purchased at the time of the concert. There is a food truck when they have music. Last time it was a Labanese truck (see my review here https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-local-and-the-lebanese-greensboro?hrid=I8Ze27RdpIQKT9xNjDi4Mw&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)) Our young granddaughter was with us last time during the concert, and she had such a blast running around wtih other kids on the lawn. We enjoyed just relaxing in the cool fall air, enjoying some wine and eating some food while listening to the band. This is a no-frills place, but it's not crowded and very laid back. We go here every 5 or 6 weeks and recommend this place.

This little vineyard is literally in the middle of nowhere. Very small tasting room, but the staff was very nice and personable. There is live music and usually a food truck. However, on my visit the food truck canceled, so be sure to check the website for updates. You can also bring in outside food, but packaged snacks can be bought too.

We came in on a Sunday at 5 pm. They closes at 6. Will remembered which wine we liked the best from more than a month ago when he helped us with wine tasting when we first visited. My husband and I both ordered a glass each. He said it's cheaper to order a bottle since we can get 5 glasses from a bottle. SOLD! Lol The first time we went, we met one of the regulars and her husband. They don't sell food in the winery, so she brings their own snacks. We were pleasantly surprised to see her again with her snacks. This time she was with her friend. We chatted again with them. I see a beautiful beginning of a friendship. The tasting room itself is small, but there's plenty of room outside to hang out. There's also a pond with a deck and seating area which is very nice and relaxing. That's where we hang out after they closed. He said just because they closes at 6 doesn't mean we have to leave. We were welcome to stay as long as we want outside with our wine. They hold events outside like Stand-Up Comedy and am interested in attending one.

Looking for an easy day trip from Raleigh? Head to Grove Winery! With any luck, Brett will be there for your wine tasting; she was knowledgeable about the vineyard and wines and had great wit! She managed a large crowd with ease and patience! You can bring your own food or eat from the food trucks they often have on site. We sat by the pond, sipping a glass of wine, and felt a million miles away from any city! Delightful afternoon!

We've lived up the block from this place for nearly 10 years and have never been, until this weekend. This is our new favorite place for a relaxing afternoon and we won't need to contend with traffic and parking in Greensboro! What great lawn space! The live music was fabulous! Delicious food truck and knowledgeable staff in the tasting room. The wine slushy was so yummy! We'll be back!

We were looking for attractions near our Inn in Gibsonville and plugged in their address into our GPS (it is a little bit out there). We are familiar with some of the Yadkin Valley wineries but have never been to one in this part of NC before. My wife and I did tastings and chatted with the server (perhaps a co-owner as well?). We were pleasantly surprised that they had won so many awards. We enjoyed the wines and bought three bottles to take with us. I don't recall seeing their wines in our local wine shops but will keep an eye out for them.

I just moved to the area, and was taking a drive up to VA when I noticed their sign on the highway, and made note for the return trip. When I arrived there was only the employee, Martin, in the tasting room. One gal was outside enjoying a glass by the pond with her young daughters. I had a six wine tasting (only $7) and a nice chat with Martin. I ended up bringing two of the bottles I tasted home, the Haw River White, a nice crisp blend of Chardonnay and Chantelle, and a 2017 Carmenere, which I though had an excellent mid-palate mouth feel. I look forward to enjoying soon with an appropriate food pairing. I have since discovered that the winery has many events at their outdoor amphitheater, and look forward to another visit, or six.

I love it, one of the best of the local wineries in the area.

I love it! It's very good. Adam is the foundation of the place and always holds it down, and makes sure to take care of everyone.

We decided to stop in for a visit on Saturday when the weather turned sour. Stanburn is a family run winery that sits on 20 or so planted acres. The vineyard itself is very well maintained and has a number of varietals planted. The tasting room is small and cozy and is decorated with awards, pictures, wine refrigerators, and some winery merchandise. Tabatha was very polite and was happy to talk about the winery and its history. Many wineries overlook this part and choose to focus on getting people through a tasting to get to the next group. It was nice to have a conversation to go along with the tasting. The wines were all refreshing. They are not overly tannic, so if big and bold tannic wines are your preference then you may not enjoy Stanburn's wines. Stanburn's Traminette was a treat. I find traminette to be hit or miss due to the often times unpleasant combination of aroma and residual sugar. Stanburn's take on this grape is to ferment it dryer which I found to be very pleasing. The Cab Franc Reserve was fantastic. The longer time in barrel greatly enhanced the character with a touch of oak that elevates this wine over the 2015 Cab Franc. The Chardonnay is clean and crisp and was held in stainless steel. If you avoid Chardonnay due to the "buttery" aspect, fear not. This Chardonnay was held in stainless steel which makes it a different beast compared against one fermented or aged in oak. I could keep going, but the bottom line is that if you're in the area, or if you see one of Stanburn's wines available for sale, do yourself a favor and give them a try.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Native Vines Winery, the first American Indian-owned winery in the United States. If you're coming from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or Charlotte, the drive is an easy one -- less than an hour away and well worth the trip. I chose a quiet fall weekend when no events were scheduled. The weekend hours are a bit longer, so it gave me time to relax and enjoy the full experience. As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly welcomed. Native Vines offers a customizable tasting where you can choose six wines from their list. I'm usually more of a semi-sweet wine drinker, but I decided to be adventurous and include two dry wines in my flight. My selections were: * * * * * * Dry wines: Indian Summer and Chief's Blend * * * * * * Semi-sweet wines: White Buffalo, Green Tea Wine, Raspberry Tea Wine, and Sangria Crackers were provided between tastings to cleanse the palate -- a thoughtful touch. The winery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was even a food truck on-site for those wanting a bite to pair with their wine. My personal favorite was the Green Tea Wine -- light, refreshing, and pleasantly unexpected. I also loved Chief's Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon with rich cherry and cocoa notes. In the end, I couldn't resist taking home bottles of the Green Tea Wine, Chief's Blend, and of course, the Sangria (because who can ever say no to Sangria?). I'm already planning my next visit -- hopefully on a day when they're hosting one of their lively events. If you're looking for a laid-back winery experience with a unique cultural story, Native Vines is absolutely worth the trip.

Both a natural winery and natural cidery, this place has something for everyone. With an INCREDIBLY laid back experience in mind, I recommend you visit this site on a nice day, bring a picnic and enjoy a selection of thier best offerings in thier back yard. My wife and I recently came for their anniversary celebration, where they had wine sampling, live music, and a pizza oven. With such a great space, such great beverages, and fun music, there is nowhere I would have rather been. Now let's talk about their beverages. We had samples of their wines, and we also bought a flight to ensure we sampled the full spectrum. All of their wines are made using the natural method, which means that they have exactly one ingredient - grapes. Their wine brand goes by the name of DeFi, and these are all NC and VA-procured grapes, fermented and bottled on-site. I especially loved each of their Pet Nats along with the Piquette Rouge. These wines are all bone dry and bring in some wanted natural notes, which I love in natural wines. Oh, and their ciders! I had never heard of a Pet Nat cider, but now I am all in! All deliciously dry and complex with fun added fruit flavors. I am especially fond that they use the only North American tropical fruit - the Paw Paw in their ciders. The produce used in their ciders is harvested locally as well, and with the amazing combination of different apples used in their ciders, each is unique and delicious. They also have an amazing little market with local specialties, which is based on an honor payment system (something I have rarely seen). If you are anywhere in the Raleigh-Durham area, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying the amazing offerings here. You will not regret stopping by.
