There is also free WiFi and a TV showing the morning news. Unfortunately it is not usually open in the evening unless there is a special event. I believe you can rent the space out for various clubs and meetings as needed. They also have a space in the back for small concerts and/or big meals. The city of Glen Ridge also offers two jitneys that pickup/drop you off at the train and cover "south" or "north" neighborhoods. It runs from early morning til 8:20am and then again in the evening rush hour from 4 to 8pm. Costs $3 per ride or you can get a monthly or annual pass!

The lobby itself is nice and fairly spacious but In more recent years it has become a safe haven for the homeless prompting the lobby to locked up after midnight. The warmth of the lobby is always welcome but there are back steps to access the platforms from the outside and even an elevator. The lobby windows hours are narrow being only 6am to 1pm so if you a special kind of ticket such as a bus pass you have to make it there during this time. It isn't open on weekends so if you work a regular job how are you supposed to get a ticket of this type? I know this is more of an NJ Transit issue but i think they should be more accomodating. Overall though its one of the better stations on this line and pretty well, kept up.

Newark Broad St. Station is hub that makes it major station on NJ Transit line. Some of the complaints in other reviews are founded with it being a hub stationand the fact that some of the more underprivileged, Inhabit the area.The reason being there is the lack of police precense, I blame the lack of development in the area. The old infamous Lincoln motel and club was demolished which was right across the street from the station which attracted many. Also the Newark Bears minor leaugue baseball folded and the stadium sits unused- this being just a short walk from the station as well and created a large presence as well. When you come to Newark Broad st. Station from any nearby area you'll see there is virtually nothing there anymore. It's desolate. Hopefully as Newark improves, attention will be given to the station and More significantly-- the area surrounding it as the station is pretty 'naked' now. Other than these issues. Newark Broad St. Station is broad with history as it still stands while so many structures around it havent.

I circled around many times to try and see if there were any signs around parking and ended up street parking by some apartment buildings. The area itself felt very sketchy and unsafe. A lot of drug usage out on the streets and it was a really run down area of bloomfield. If I had known in advance would have gone to another station - I felt very uneasy about leaving my car there.

My wife was at work, so I couldn't ask her to remind me. I called MetroPark on April 3rd for a pickup on April 4th and spoke to 'Sid'. He seemed like a nice enough guy although he couldn't seem to either hear or understand what I was saying part of the time. He told me what the price would be for the pickup at our home and for the return trip, I gave him my credit card info and email and he said I would be receiving an email or text confirmation. By the morning of April 4th, I had still not received any confirmation but what I did receive was an almost $400 charge on my card from them. The agreed upon price I got on the phone was $120 each way. I called the main number back at 8:10 am on April 4th, got a different person, told them I had not received confirmation and asked why I was charged so much extra. He was rude and condescending, said it was sent and that I should check my spam email (which I had already done prior to calling), told me the extra fees were for gratuities and other expenses and added that I shouldn't book them if I can't afford it. Keep in mind that this comment comes from a semi-literate working at a taxi stand. Needless to say, I emphatically told him to cancel the service and hoped this would be the end of it. I then called my bank to give them the heads up about these charges as I would be out of the country for over a week. They explained that the charges were still pending, but I at least wanted it to be on record that I contacted them immediately. As I write this on April 13th, the charges were still on my card, so I filed a fraud complaint with my bank and the charges will be taken off. Also, we went with the car service we had previously used and they were honest, charged less, had a clean, new car and were top notch. Even our driver was a pleasure. To summarize, it is much easier to be an honest company who treats their clients with respect and good service than a vampiric parasite who tries to cheat honest people out of their money. You are only hurting yourselves in the long run through loss of business and reputation. MetroPark, are a few extra ill-gotten bucks really worth it?
