After spraining my ankle, my orthopedist recommended me to get a walking boot. He sent us to Grove pharmacy. The assistant manager came over right away and assisted me in how to use and care for the boot. It was very busy from the store front to the pharmacy, but the customers were in and out with little to no wait times. They also have a candy and chocolate section in the back. Love the fact that they all wear there mask what I don't like is when I go in and they run out from beheld to check your temperature. just to pick up your meds. If we are wearing our mask there's no reason why they have to force you to take your temperature it's get very annoying. I went there with a bad migraine wearing a hat sunglasses and my mask . Didn't want to take it off due to the bad pain in my head and the light.I've been coming here for year's they are amazing BUT!! Running put beheld the Cashwrap to take your temperature and making you take off your sunglasses and hat is really over board. So I give 3 stars for that read more

Really nice old fashioned pharmacy. Very nice woman does ear piercing and put my daughter at ease. Great candy counter, good pharmacy service. Even has some decent gifts - scarves, jewelry and purses - if you are in a pinch. Overall much much better than any chain pharmacy. read more

This is a family run store with real people who actually know their customers. We moved our Rxs from the supermarket pharmacy to Grove when my spouse really needed professional pharmacists who would watch out for drug interactions, etc. They are helpful and caring pharmacists. Most people would say they love this place for the homemade cookies and fudge, but have no clue on the history. I am a long time customer of this pharmacy because of my parent's my family has been in Montclair since the 50's, and my Sister and I both worked at this store and I have seen many things the most troublesome story I could tell you was about a black man that came to this pharmacy to pick up cough meds for his wife only to be rudely turned away and on that very same day a white man came in and asked for the same thing and Walla they had plenty in stock. Now over the years I truly thought things have improved until yesterday when I travel there to pick up my bp meds which I phoned in a week in advanced. I was met with a screaming pharmacist that told me she wasn't going to fill my prescription because of the cost, I told her since we are retired and my husband's plan only kept major medical that I have been paying full price for our meds and it has never been a problem...she kept a rant on for the whole store to hear and I was not going to stoop to her level and yell back at her....the only reason why I tried that store was CVS told me they stopped carrying it and Walgreens was iffy so I called Grove up and was told that my meds would be ready for the following week.... no one called me or gave me a heads up that there was a problem. So because of this pharmacist rudeness, and unprofessional behavior I am threw with them. My last comment will be if a pharmacist gets so unglued should she be in charge of meds...just saying sounds like she needs a time out or off. So I do not recommend this place because Cleary they no longer have any class and proper customer service. No one no matter who he or she is and no matter what color you are this day and time should be yelled at like a child or scolded in such a matter that you are publicly humiliated! Shame on you management for not seeing the signs! read more

This place just seems super weird. It's a store with make up products, pharmacy, bakery, halloween costumes, products for disabled, candy, balloons, piercing services and God knows what else. The selection is just so random. It looks like it hasn't been updated in a while too, so there is a specific "old carpet/stinky socks/faded candles smell.... Haven't tried the pharmacy, but there are always some people by the counter so it seems like it's doing pretty good. Went in a few times to get some small bday gifts and was able to find some cute cards. read more

Grove Pharmacy is a great neighborhood pharmacy, I like that they also pierce ears! My daughter got her ears pierced their as a baby.

I lost my newly filled prescription medicine, called to see what I should do, and the pharmacist looked up the price I'd have to pay out of pocket since my insurance would not cover it, then said she would call my insurance company to see if they have an override and would call me back. Came here to get my ears re-pierced. Very very CLEAN and service was great! They pierce both ears at the same time - which I am thankful for because I can't tolerate pain that well and I would have left just after one. It's really not that painful - just a pinch. They have two large cases of earrings to chose from. Each case have a variety of gold and silver earrings. You can chose from the $45.99 or $75.99 case. Its been almost a week since I had them pierced and I had no problem with my ears. HIGHLY recommend if your considering a piercing! Great job! read more

My family and i have chose this pharmacy for decades. Very happy here. Much better than a big name pharmacy like CVS, Rite Aide, Target, Walmart etc. those are blah. Love this place! I've had multiple spine surgeries over the last few years. Was unable to work for the better part of the last 48 months. During this very very painful and difficult time of my life - grove made it easy. I was left with no choice but To be on pain medicine for a very long time. Big chain pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens give you nothing but dirty looks and a hard time when trying to fill a script for a controlled substance. Especially for someone young like myself. Walgreens makes you feel like a criminal just for filling the medicine prescribed by your doctor. They have even said to me - you shouldn't be on this blah blah. Have even called my Dr. And questioned him in regards to my condition. My dr put them in their place but none the less - dealing with a horrific chronic spine condition is enough. I don't need my pharmacy to treat me like I'm committing a crime just by filling my meds. My pain management dr suggested I try grove pharmacy and wow - what a difference. They always had my medication in stock and more importantly they treated me like a human instead of a criminal. Never once did I feel judged or mistreated. Don't get me wrong - I understand that the medicine I was receiving was very strong and has that stigma attached to it. And I understand the pharmacy needs to make sure it is legitimate and take proper precautions. I have no issue with that. The staff at grove did all of that without sacrificing how they treat the patient while places like Walgreens and cvs would go out of their way to try and find a way not to fill my prescription. The staff is wonderful and fast. I will never go anywhere else by choice for my pharmacy needs. I recommend this place to everyone but especially those who regularly need to fill a script that may have a stigma attached to it. I love this drugstore. About five miles away and worth the drive. One of the last old-fashioned in business; they carry my favorite nail polish (Brucci, $2.69, wears forever) and a variety of health and beauty items and a great selection of greeting cards. Very nice, very helpful people and it's fun to walk around and see what they have; so much nicer than the cookie-cutter pharmacies esp if you remember the feel of the old Mom&Pop stores. Weather permitting, we dine al fresco at the nearby restaurants and then go for a stroll in Verona Park. read more

I have used the giant corporate pharmacies in the past with the typical mediocre services. When we moved in to this area, we were told about Grove Pharmacy. For 21 years they have been our only pharmacy. Their service is tops! Their employees are the best!!! And their pricing is as good if not better than the others. read more

I have gotten all of my ear piercings done here, but my newest has not gone well. today I went to get my cartilage pierced for the second and third time with my best friend. I was not nervous because I had such great experience prior to this. I went in and we waited for the second piercer to get back. Once they were ready for us, I went first. I noticed it was a man I had not seen there before. I sat in the chair and hoped he would mark my ear before piercing it (which he did not). I shook it off, figuring he would do a good job. He spaced the first piercing nicely and I was pleased. Then, the second piercing was very close to the first and quite off to the middle of my ear. He then had trouble getting the earring off so he pushed the gun again which gave me the same pain that the original piercing did. I was happy with how it looked, and left smiling. When we were driving home, I felt like one of the piercings was loose and tried to fix it by tightening it, but my ear still hurt a little so I didn't bother too much. Once I got home, I tried again and discovered that the top earring did not have a back on it and the point of it was very close to the earring back below it. The piercing was done the complete wrong way. Instead of the back pointing upwards like it's supposed to, it was slanted downwards. A few hours later, I took the piercing out expecting pain, but there was none. After my ear stopped bleeding, I looked at the removed earring and saw that it was bent. I am very unhappy with this piercing experience and hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. read more
