The James Bradley - breakfast

Absolutely perfect from check in to check out. Hotel is conveniently located near the beach, but…read morealso near the main street and public transit. The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). Can't wait to find a reason to return.

The lobby and dining area, porch and sitting areas are beautiful. Our room was also quite lovely…read morebut could've used some more amenities like perhaps a place to sit and eat as we ordered food, utensils (we ended up getting some from the front desk) and a trash can? I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

The maitre'd that led us through our initial tour no longer works at English Manor, but that was no issue whatsoever. Marlyn picked up like she had been with us from the very beginning. EVERY email was answered with ease IN THE MOST TIMELY OF FASHIONs, and all concerns (really more so questions) were addressed. Our details meeting was so thorough and I went into our day feeling completely confident that my vision would come to life. IT DID AND THEN SOME. Again, I truly believe this was all because of Marlyn and Jen. I am Type A, so this was something I was very concerned about. From the minute we set foot on the venue property the morning of our wedding until the minute we left we were absolutely blown away. Marlyn and Jen were just so above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. I would've had Marlyn at my wedding as a guest because I love her so much. I went through my day stress free without any type of professional coordinator (which was shocking for me!). marlyn handled absolutely every single detail and issue that arose. (Again, none of which were her fault lol.) Marlyn walked around with me, carried my bouquet, made sure my phone got to my good friend to snap some photos, made sure I had a drink in my hand every minute I wanted it, and just thought of absolutely everything. She even SCRUBBED the dirt off my dress from the rain so it was perfect. I cannot recommend this stunning venue enough! Although, a team is only as good as their players. so, more importantly, i cannot recommend marlyn enough. Our guests are still raving about the venue, scenery, food, and atmosphere. We are so happy with our choice! And ILY MARLYN, SO MUCH.

the walls are just way too thin. We could hear the elevators, people talking from rooms around us,…read moreand footsteps above us. And I'm a partier so I'm usually unbothered by a little noise. if IM complaining about noise that's a bad sign. Aside from that the rooms aren't very welcoming. The uncarpeted floors have a cold vibe and the old air conditioner from the 80s sounded like it was on its last leg. The price of the room is that of a 5 star hotel and the lobby and event spaces are amazing. But the hotel rooms themselves feel like a 2 star hotel unfortunately. Really needs an update. The bed was comfortable but the furniture, the noise, and the old AC system were surprisingly low effort. I wouldn't stay here again unless I absolutely had to due to proximity to their event space.

So The Asbury Hotel did what it needed to do--it housed me for a Jersey Shore visit. The rooms are…read morevery unique. Cute, though I wouldn't exactly say cozy. I'm so glad they furnished the room with a noise maker, because my goodness, the construction by the boardwalk right now is loud and the lobby is popping. The room phone does not connect with the front desk. That works through a text system. I highly prefer to just be able to call, and this felt like one of those modern updates that are actually less convenient. I ordered room service, and here is where I would give 5 out of 5 stars - the staff here was very friendly and sweet. The spinach and egg white wrap I got? Y'all, skip it! I'd even say, please take this off the menu. I couldn't eat it. The mushrooms were chewy and tough. And the combination of everything was almost muddy? I'd suggest maybe trying to dress the spinach and seasoning the eggs. The coffee was fine. I highly preferred the espresso! Not bad, but I might go elsewhere next time.
