From…read morethe day I arrived, Bill and Linda were incredibly welcoming and always went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of. The inn is clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The breakfasts were excellent and one of the many things that made staying here such a great experience. The location is also hard to beat-- a 2 block walk to the beach and a short drive to Main Street, making it easy to enjoy everything Belmar has to offer. What stood out most to me was the hospitality. Staying somewhere for nearly a month gives you a much different perspective than a quick weekend trip, and throughout my entire stay Bill and Linda consistently made me feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you both for making my extended stay feel like home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the Inn at the Shore to anyone visiting the area. 10/10.

Our room, the common areas, the verandah, the breakfast, and the hospitality were all outstanding. I couldn't have been more pleased. Our room, the Savannah, was one of the smallest in the Inn but it was still surprisingly spacious, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully appointed. The mini-fridge was a nice touch (we stocked it with club soda and wine); the shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water; towels were fluffy and plentiful; bedding was comfortable with a pillow top mattress, lots of pillows, a summer-weight down duvet and fresh cotton sheets. Although the room offered air conditioning, we opted for open windows and the ceiling fan. The basket of magazines and bookshelf of paperbacks in the upstairs hall was a stroke of hospitality genius. Ditto the fresh-baked cookies in the dining room in the afternoon... and the cold bottled water for the beach. These small mindful touches were very much appreciated. A number of very nice amenities were available, including loaner bikes, free beach towels, chairs and badges. The hosts, Chris and Debbie, were thoughtful, friendly and unobtrusive. They made us feel absolutely welcome and comfortable without overwhelming us. The full breakfast was fresh, yummy and plentiful -- and served at a human hour (9am - 10am). For early risers, the coffeepot is perking by 6:30am. We plan to visit again and I absolutely recommend the Atlantic View Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing beach-side stay at the Shore.

The inn's location is quite close to the Bradley Beach NJ Transit Train Station, and it is just half a block from the beach, so most of the rooms have views of the Atlantic Ocean (mine did!). The innkeepers and owners are so charming and friendly, and they really want to make sure everyone has a good visit to the shore. Though I only stayed one night in the Cape May room on the 3rd floor, I really enjoyed my time at the inn. I loved the huge wrap-around porch and the comfortable homey feeling in the main living area. I also really appreciated that they had "Shared Book" shelves all around the inn on every floor.

She explained where the keys would be, the parking situation and just was very friendly and accommodating. BF and I arrived at 645 pm on Friday evening, had no problems getting into our room. There are only a few parking spots for a few guest rooms, but we were able to park on premises. There is parking less than 1/8 mile away near the beach which we would have been more than fine with. There's no street parking in Spring Lake. We loved our room, it was clean (although a little chilly) and the bathroom was perfectly sized for two people. We went to Belmar for dinner (we walked as we had just sat in the car for a few hours) and then sat outside on the huge porch before heading up to bed. We got a later start in the morning Saturday (we wanted to go apple picking in Freehold, about 30 minutes away) but I stopped at the front desk to "check in" and the waitress from the restaurant wanted to know if we wanted to eat, even though she was almost done with her shift and breakfast ended at 10 (it was 950am). We thanked her profusely, but wanted to get on the road. She even offered to give us coffee and muffins to go, which was super sweet. We had a full day and came back for bed around 830pm and there was a night manager around, which we didn't see on Friday. We decided to sit on the porch again and drink the wine we didn't finish from dinner. BF ran upstairs to get a phone charger and the night manager came out to check on me, offering tea, blankets, and was just as friendly as could be. We had breakfast there on Sunday, I was really impressed with the selection of food. I've been to BnBs that only have one or two options or they put out whatever they want to serve and call it a day. You can choose from a bunch of different options. I had an omelette and BF had the pancakes. Both were delicious and the service was excellent. Was able to check out with no problems, very quick and easy. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the inn. It is old but it's quaint and charming. BF and I were the youngest people there, but we didn't mind. The other guests we interacted with briefly were friendly. I had read some negative reviews after I had booked our stay, so I was slightly apprehensive, but we had such a different experience there. I highly recommend this charming B and B. I would definitely come back.

When here because breakers room's ran out and it was possible the worst hotel experience I have…read moreever had. The room we got was the suite which was anything but. The bed's mattress felt like you were sleep on a mattress of wooden plank that were laying on the road. The room was dirty, I found crumbs and hairs and even some stains on the mattress. I wonder if the cleaning help has ever heard of a vacuum or a laundry machine. Then there was the bathroom. It was the size of a teacup, if you were to close yourself into the shower you wouldn't be able to walk in it you would only be able to turn in circles. The toilet was clogged when we got there and the staff didn't fix it so I had to do it myself. Finally for the room the towels smelled like bacon, I am pretty sure that they are the same towels that they use to clean the dishes from the breakfast. Speaking of the breakfast it was god awful. I got the scrambled eggs and they overcooked half of my plate while the other half was undercooked. How do you manage to do that?! Let's just say I am never coming back after this experience. Do not come here if you care for your health and want to have a pleasant vacation.

I figured how bad could it be? I'm going to start off with the positives the young lady I believe her name was Robin who was there to greet me when I got there was a sweetheart. Absolutely loved her. She was so helpful. She carried my bags up for me. That's when I found out that I was on the fourth floor and has someone with fibromyalgia . It was kind of rough for me to get up and down the steps, but I did what I had to. She also put out an absolutely beautiful breakfast in the morning, including fresh fruit, bagel, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. however, I was not very hungry and just grabbed coffee, which was very delicious Now, as far as the room, I started by saying I had to go up four flights upstairs. OK not the end of the world my room all very clean felt like I was sleeping in a closet. I actually had some claustrophobia. And I could not find anywhere to adjust the heat other than a space heater therefore I stayed up most of the night because I was paranoid of it knocking over and being set on fire. Also, I had no idea that the bathroom was in the Hallway . When I went to take a shower yesterday morning, there was absolutely not one drop of hot water. This was not a good way to start my day. I was very disappointed. I know I got this room at a discounted rate, but I almost kind of feel like I want some of my money back because I was unable to sleep because it was so cold in the room with only a space heater running and to not have hot water to take a shower is kind of unacceptable I'm hoping that the owner will see this and reach out to me. As I said, Robin is lovely. I really liked her And if they made this right for me, I probably would give it another try next time I have to go down there because as I said, it was incredibly clean.

For an average of $550 per night, our stay was grossly overpriced. Our room (while very clean) was very, very tight in space, no closet, lots of very odd poorly renovated areas, light fixtures for looks that don't work, extremely small showers with an overhead ceiling that clearly leaked and was patched up poorly in a different paint color). One cannot open windows to let fresh air in the room or listen to the ocean. The room attendants are lovely and meticulous. Their response time is fantastic The breakfast is good yet note that they use a single hot plate to make eggs. Beach towels provided are small and thin. The stairs to the third floor are steep, slippery and a bit of a death wish. Also, there are no irons to borrow and I highlight suggest you bring your own bath products. It seems that it is a space that will be continuously and properly renovated at some point. I felt that it was an extremely overpriced for sure. The photos are a bit deceiving. Even as this is a historic building - there are ways to respectfully renovate to maintain the history of the building and charge appropriately.

The family-run property was extremely well-kept, and there were so many small details that they had thought of that really enhanced the experience. I was, however, surprised to see so many reviews refer to the place as a "bed and breakfast", because despite the atmosphere being similar, a morning meal was not truly included (more on that below). I am not sure if that was an adjustment made when they also changed the name of the hotel or what. Anyway, I broke out my thoughts on various aspects below: Room: Our room was on the third floor, so there were a good amount of steps to get up there. There was a storage cabinet in the hallway on each floor that held spare rolls of toilet paper and extra cosmetic items for guests to grab as needed. The rooms, however, were already well-stocked with these items, but it was nice to have access to backups for longer stays. Our room was reasonable spacious and even included a fireplace, two stools, a loveseat, and a coffee table. There was also a luggage rack, a dehumidifier, a Roku smart television, beach towels, and beach passes included. The room was relatively soundproof from the neighboring ones, and the area was quiet to begin with. The bed was very soft and fluffy, but wound up being more supportive than I would have expected, since I did not wake up with any back pain. The private bathroom was reasonably spacious and included a large stall shower. There were two of each size towel you could possibly want. Though its pedestal sink did not provide any counterspace, there was a small stand in the corner that could be used as an alternative. The bath products were from C.O. Bigelow, so they had no parabens or other gross ingredients. Cleanliness: Overall, the room was very clean, though I did see a few hairs on the bathroom walls and a long one on the inside of a folded bath towel. The common areas were spotless. Breakfast: While breakfast was not included in the reservation, it could be purchased in advance through the website with a few main course options to choose from. Alternatively, the hotel left a daily "Morning Experience Card" voucher in the room that would cover a portion of breakfast at one of three local eateries - a diner, a bagel shop, or a cafe (see my review for Caffe Di Famiglia at https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffe-di-famiglia-belmar?hrid=muhG5OL20A6uHsCNcq1fHg ). The summertime voucher was for $20, though it would apparently be valued at a lower amount in the off-season. The lobby did have coffee and a delicious orange sponge cake in the morning, though. Registration: The check-in/out services were easy, requiring an online pre-registration, where you selected code that would allow you into the building and to your room. The code would stop working when your reservation ended. There were also two chocolate chip cookies waiting to greet us in our room. Common Areas: The quaint home had a wrap-around porch that included a few dining tables and several rocking chairs. On the inside ground floor there was a dining room table, a living room, and a small den with coffee maker and water pitcher. Beach Gear: In addition to the passes and towels in the room, the hotel had beach cruiser bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, and carts available for use. Location: The location was spectacular, as it was only a block from Main Street's restaurants, shops, and fitness centers, as well as only a few blocks to the beach. Parking: There was room for 5-6 cars to park behind the inn, as well as free parking spots on the residential block. While we would have loved to have a homecooked breakfast at The Opal & Pearl included in our stay, we really felt that the inn was cute and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again.

Parking is free on the street (or you can also park in the back of the house - has maybe 2 ish spots). We had no issue with street parking. We took our bikes and beach chairs to the beach one day (we had our own chairs, but they provide chairs if you want and also beach towels). Room was clean and self check in was with our own code. The mattress could use an upgrade, but it wasn't terrible. Bathtub was jacuzzi style. All very clean and painting seemed up to date. Air conditioner got cold very quickly. Dedra and Cord were excellent and really paid attention to detail. I appreciate the cookies that were in our room on check in and then the treats that were on our door the next day! Breakfast was fantastic. Fruit always seemed meticulously picked and everything was prepared with love. This is the place to be!
