This hotel is near the beach and has 2 bars in the lobby and the nightclub below. Then there is the pool with full bar. All in all, it's not bad. Staff is very friendly unlike what helpers said. Not been roofied yet. Thank god.

I had a great Empress Hotel experience. I was there for a bachelorette party so had access to a regular room and a suite. Both rooms have balconies and views. The suite had an ocean view and a balcony that wrapped around the suite. This location couldn't have been any better. It was a block from almost everything: the beach/boardwalk, Porta, Stone Pony and many other shops/restaurants. The hotel also has a pool and club downstairs. Think Vegas-lite. Covers are waived for hotel guests. There's a continental breakfast in the morning that had items like bagels, fruit and coffee. The hotel itself was a little older but clean. I thought I'd have issues with the aging shower but it has pretty good water pressure and toiletries. The Empress Hotel is a fun option for a visit to Asbury Park.

This place is my little home away from home now . I stayed here overnight because my daughter had a concert at Stone Pony Summer Stage which is just a few feet away. I loved it, so went back alone for a "just me" weekend. These people are so lovely and the guests are all happy. Such a great vibe. Especially Bridge - so welcoming to everyone and enthusiastic. Rooms always clean, fantastic brunch (free) on weekend with best bagels (as per Bridge) and the location is steps away from amazing little food places and clothing and other stores in addition to the beach. There is always an interesting convention there such as the tattoo conference and there is a cake convention coming up. Great music, boardwalk, people and The Empress is home base. Oh and the pool is fabulous!!!! The guests are awesome too.

Upon checking in, they informed me my room was not ready yet and offered to take my luggage and bring it to my room. I was with a colleague and I tagged along as the front desk agent guided us to their room. The hotel had such a modern and simple aesthetic with plenty of space to work and lounge around in. The room was spacious with a gorgeous bathroom and outdoor seating area. The front desk agent mentioned the ducks that live in the back and could visit our out door areas and yes I was able to get a glimpse of the ducks! It wasn't long until my room was ready and the front desk agent was able to find me, provided me my key, and walked me to my room. I loved that customer service they provided. They gave me a brief tour of my room which was similar to my colleagues. The bed was cozy! The bathroom and shower was a dream and that bathrobe was as super comfy! I had a restful sleep that evening! My company had rented a meeting room which was catered by the hotel. The food was good and the staff was super helpful and attentive while we were there. We also had hung out in the outdoor bar area and the wait staff there was great as well! The view from the outdoor bar/pool area was beautiful and overlooking the beach. Overall it was a wonderful stay! The customer service was exceptional throughout my stay!

The facility literally oozes upscalia and makes me wish I had a man bun, a private tanning bed and an entourage. The lobby is great and the bar is fun but with the exception of a few decent eateries on Cookman, Asbury Park tries too damn hard and just doesn't do it for me. Nice place though. Four well tanned stars.

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

It is billed as a B&B, so we sampled the options one of the mornings during our stay. Coffee and water, mandarins, and store bought coffee cakes were out, and the proprietor, who was super kind during the stay, made some scrambled eggs, which were really delicious. He had some bread and cinnamon raisin bread out, too, which we toasted. The room was decently sized and fairly clean, though there were some ants. One oddity is the bathroom situation. Our room had a private bathroom, which was a deal breaker for us. You can request that when you book. Most rooms share bathrooms - there are a few in the halls. The walls are pretty thin, and there was a definite clomper present during our visit, so we heard them a-clompin' from time to time. Overall, though, it didn't detract for us. The third floor has a nice little lounge and TV room if you need to stay indoors awhile, plus there are porches out front and on the second floor. Bonus points because at the entrance they sell "ping pong pals," which are ping pong balls with mini sunglasses. That's the stuff bonus points were made for. Extra bonus points for the single best selling point about this place - the location. They are a five minute walk from Ocean Grove's Main Street with its nice coffeeshops, bakeries, delis, shops, etc; less than five minutes walking gets you to the beach; and about 5-10 minutes across the bridge gets you to Asbury's main dining/night life area. That makes for an incredibly convenient stay. We were satisfied.

The air conditioner is ice cold for those who need it, and they have a cool system where you put a little cap into the vent and you can block the air as well. Easy!
