As in, you can throw a ball into the ocean from your room. Pluses - tons of little amenities. Plenty of towels, basket downstairs of shampoo/towels for post-beach shower even after check out, small library , fun and funky art on walls, laid-back and young, fun staff; dog Roscoe who hangs out, 100 nooks and crannies, both indoors and out, to hang out. Yogurts, various pastries and coffee/juice included. Towels for beach and big quilts if you want them. Just a great wraparound service place at the beach. The air conditioner is ice cold for those who need it, and they have a cool system where you put a little cap into the vent and you can block the air as well. Easy! Cons- The bed was not awful, but one of the less comfortable beds I've slept on in a lodging I've paid for. Also, no bathtubs. But I didn't ask. Oh, and if you go on Sunday, be aware that in this believin' town, the beaches are closed til post-worship 12:30 pm. Next time, I'd book earlier, skip the ocean view, and get the room with shared bath- that would be a real steal at the Ocean Vista! Will be back...

Really convenient to everything at Long Branch Beach. First a shout out to Guest Experiences Manager Kate Fowler who took care of helping us with reservations to multiple events and stayed in touch throughout. She was awesome. Always friendly, courteous and helpful. Next Front Desk Nicole who went way beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay, with directions, advice and was a huge reason for a great stay. She is a keeper and will help with anything you need. She works the afternoon shift and even though the peak check-in, will take her time to explain everything in great detail. The Property is easy to find and with a convenient initial park at the back of the hotel, then the card to enter the garage right behind with free in/out parking included in your daily rate. Having covered parking on hot days is a must (PS if you check out, you can park in the 30 minute parking spots until you leave). Another tip, don't struggle with the trolley trying to enter the Hotel as there is a slight bump in the rear door to negotiate. Just go Infront and pull your trolley and it's much easier to enter. The lobby is fab and has entertainment for all. From a pool table, to soccer table and comfortable seating. Its where breakfast pastries and coffee/tea is provided and has a small bar. There is one elevator given the size of the Property but access using the stairs is easy. Rooms are spacious, housekeeping is done daily and there is little you need once in your rooms. Now another tip. Your stay allows access to the WAVE resort and to its private beach, pool and gym. You have to show your room key and will be issued armbands. Note that it's a 10-15 minute walk and not immediately close by but well worth the visit. Alex Warren manages the Property and is really helpful to show you around. From the Hotel it is a block to the Pier Shopping Center and the most awesome restaurants around. The beach is clean and so is the boardwalk. Book early and Kate can help with suggestions. Angie, Lala, Chris, Grandpa were all very kind & went out of there way to make your time there special. They always had candy in a bowl when we'd arrive back "home" in the evening. We had 2 refrigerators, 2 sinks & a most comfortable 4 poster stunning bed. Lots of towels to use. And they offered beach passes at a great disct vs paying on the beach. You can't use a scooter in Ocean Grove but you can in Asbury Park. Tho everyone rides bikes in O.G. If u want to RENT a bike, go to the Hardware Store on Main St, right off Atlantic Ave. It's a fabulous way to ride thru all the little towns. Also, the walk to the water wasn't that far from the Hotel. Which by the way has tremendous history as does so many of the towns & buildings. We stopped at Miss Elli for the most fabulous jewelry & hats & all things fabulous! The Balingdon B&B was astounding dinghy! They overnited our charger! I hurt my ankle & they went above & beyond!

Joe and Kelsey are amazing hosts and very responsive to texts/questions. All the staff is great. There is a beautiful rooftop deck that we enjoyed at night after dinner. Great for socializing. There is also a room with a couch on the 4th floor for gatherings/gaming systems for young kids. Breakfast every morning was delicious!!! Each morning there was a specialty option, as well as eggs and bacon plus homemade breads and muffins. My mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious egg sandwich Joe made. You can get a beach pass through them ($8 daily), which is $2 cheaper than purchasing at the beach entrance. The inn is a quick walk to the beach, it's in a perfect location. The inn is also not a far walk to Asbury Park (leisurely walk took us about 20 minutes). With traveling with a young baby and all the beach stuff they need, having a room on the 4th floor could have been a little complicated, but luckily, we had a parking spot right out in front to pack away our stuff each day. Make sure when selecting your room you are paying attention to which floor it is on. Overall we had a great time and cannot wait to come back! The Inn was perfect for a vacation with family! Liz wants us not to believe our eyes rather what she tells us is true. Lastly , it should be down by any guess that during the months of the winter , the becomes a property that caters to some of society's lets say most challenged people. It is impossible that\nWith eight months out of the year being populated by this type of clientele that the property is not badly affected by that. I had to go down to that area for business and I found this hotel on Expedia and I know that I had passed it before as we go down to Asbury Park sometimes in the summers it's very close to the beach, which would be amazing if it wasn't the dead of winter Regardless my room is $130. I figured how bad could it be? I'm going to start off with the positives the young lady I believe her name was Robin who was there to greet me when I got there was a sweetheart. Absolutely loved her. She was so helpful. She carried my bags up for me. That's when I found out that I was on the fourth floor and has someone with fibromyalgia . It was kind of rough for me to get up and down the steps, but I did what I had to. She also put out an absolutely beautiful breakfast in the morning, including fresh fruit, bagel, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. however, I was not very hungry and just grabbed coffee, which was very delicious Now, as far as the room, I started by saying I had to go up four flights upstairs. OK not the end of the world my room all very clean felt like I was sleeping in a closet. I actually had some claustrophobia. And I could not find anywhere to adjust the heat other than a space heater therefore I stayed up most of the night because I was paranoid of it knocking over and being set on fire. Also, I had no idea that the bathroom was in the Hallway . When I went to take a shower yesterday morning, there was absolutely not one drop of hot water. This was not a good way to start my day. I was very disappointed. I know I got this room at a discounted rate, but I almost kind of feel like I want some of my money back because I was unable to sleep because it was so cold in the room with only a space heater running and to not have hot water to take a shower is kind of unacceptable I'm hoping that the owner will see this and reach out to me. As I said, Robin is lovely. I really liked her And if they made this right for me, I probably would give it another try next time I have to go down there because as I said, it was incredibly clean.

For an average of $550 per night, our stay was grossly overpriced. Our room (while very clean) was very, very tight in space, no closet, lots of very odd poorly renovated areas, light fixtures for looks that don't work, extremely small showers with an overhead ceiling that clearly leaked and was patched up poorly in a different paint color). One cannot open windows to let fresh air in the room or listen to the ocean. The room attendants are lovely and meticulous. Their response time is fantastic The breakfast is good yet note that they use a single hot plate to make eggs. Beach towels provided are small and thin. The stairs to the third floor are steep, slippery and a bit of a death wish. Also, there are no irons to borrow and I highlight suggest you bring your own bath products. It seems that it is a space that will be continuously and properly renovated at some point. I felt that it was an extremely overpriced for sure. The photos are a bit deceiving. Even as this is a historic building - there are ways to respectfully renovate to maintain the history of the building and charge appropriately.

But my god, it is splinter hell. Us, along with 3 other families that we knew of, were realizing at the pool that us and our kid's feet were completely full of splinters. We spent a total of about 3 hours at the pool over 2 days and my four year old had over 50 splinters in each foot! I had about 10 and spouse a few less. My four year old will not even let me look at his foot, nevertheless remove the splinters - yeah right. I think we are going to need to get sedated. This has ruined the stay to be honest. The hotel also didn't have tweezers. At least two families complained and nothing seemed to be done about it. The deck is extremely dry. This wouldn't be a hard problem to solve. ICE. I requested ice about 20 different ways, because there is no ice machine so they say just request it: - through the app on their tablet (3x, nothing) - through calling the front desk (2x, nothing) - in person at the front desk (2x, nothing) - through text to the front desk (4x, nothing) - in person to the person that came to the room one night (2x, 1x worked!) I got ice once, woohoooooo! The tablet is a joke. I needed an extra bedsheet and requested it through the tablet and it never came. In person at the front desk it did, however. Beautiful hotel, but the splinters ruined it. You could not pay ME to stay somewhere that my autistic kid gets 100 splinters in his feet. The hotel is feeling a bit neglected in some ways. Our "terrace" had algae on the deck area, one couch cushion had a big brown spot and there was half of a DEAD BIRD on our terrace. It was there the whole time. Of course my 4 year old was enthralled.Yay.

We checked in at 4:15 with Kathy and she explained the layout of the land and how everything worked. She told us breakfast was from 8-10am and asked if we needed restaurant recommendations (which was nice) but we already had reservations somewhere. We stayed in room 15, which was very cute. The decor was lovely and the bathroom was a great size (with a powerful shower!). After dinner we came back to our room to just relax and watch some TV. The bed was comfy enough, a bit hard for me, but that's just my preference as my husband slept soundly. You can hear some of the other tenants as I heard someone snoring all night long, and then a woman on the phone in the morning. The breakfast was delicious, maybe a tad limited, but a lot of it is homemade (by Kathy!) like the french toast bake and a waffle egg with everything bagel seasoning (go for that!).
