I can't say enough about the great job they do. You have the most amazing staff members, Trisha, Dream, Apple, Katie, Channy, Myskina and Pitcha who are such attentive, well-mannered girls who go over and beyond for patrons and they emit such a welcoming and comfortable vibe to anyone entering the hotel which, I think is significantly important for patrons. I refer to them as "my children". Any patron who enters the Hotel is automatically greeted with a smile and acknowledgement of presence. They are aware of what certain patrons normally drink and have that drink brought to them within seconds. That is not the norm in other places which I have frequented. The girls are always on the go in keeping patrons' drinks flowing without the need to ask, the surrounds are constantly being cleaned and kept impeccably tidy in and around the entire areas of the Hotel. I would also like to give a shout out to Matt, Gerard, David and Petronius. These boys do an amazing job, always checking on other staff members ensuring the smooth running and operations within the Hotel are maintained and patrons are comfortable. On a more important note, my greatest thanks must go to the Security Guard, Mo. Such precision in security. I have witnessed his diplomacy in the terrible situations where he can calm the angriest person. It is quite obvious he takes his work seriously and implements it diligently. He is always checking on patrons in all areas of the Hotel especially in the gaming section. Overall, The Ashfield has come a long way in the last couple of years. It feels like a second home. This is a place I would not give up for another. I have no hesitation in recommending the Ashfield Hotel to anyone wanting a great experience and fantastic service.

I came for the Schnitzel…read more For some reason I had a craving for smashed fried Chicken. It's nothing to do with my heritage, believe me.... I mean Wikipedia reckons that Chicken is more readily available in Australia than Veal and that's why we make Chicken ones.. Edit please! . I just wanted a Schnitty or a Parmi. The Ashfield Hotel provided. A Parmi. Double the fist! I mean the thing was bigger than 2 of my hands. 1 point It was delicately fried to perfection. 1 point. It was beautifully cooked inside. 1 point It had bottled Parmigiana sauce. 1/2 point The cheese was great. 1 point. 4.5 aint bad. I like to measure a pub's gastronomical efforts by the cut of their Sniz (tautology intended) and this was O.K by me. The beer was a let down though. I had to take back my 2nd Cooper's Pale ale because it tasted like VB. Easy mistake to make I guess... they're both green taps.... and they were next to each other..... Oh never mind, the Barman was nice enough about it to give me a new one. They do have a cocktail happy hour at some stage, either Thurs or Friday, but you'll wait a while to get it made. Undergoing some sort of reno to accommodate smokers/pokie addicts but dont let that put you off. The food is not bad. Attracts a lot of people who wear Hi-Vis garments. If you don't mind a tradie or two. This is the pub for you.

The coffee is Gabriel brand, the ingredients are fresh and you'll find all your old cafe favourites like BLAT, hotcakes and ricotta on fruit toast. Prices are pretty standard for the area, around $20-25 per person. Make no mistake, there will be kids so don't go here if you're the cantankerous type. There is a little reading corner, shelves of toys for your kids to pester you into buying and clothes so cute they'll make you want to reproduce.

A little over espressed (and thus a little burnt and bitter), but seriously just a tad (don't forget, I really am a picky bastard). I don't recall having drunk Di Gabriel coffee before, but it was enjoyable. Getting back to the primary focus of this cafe, mums with kids, I am sure they would be happy this cafe uses a range of loose leaf T2 tea. And for the kids, the babychinos expressly come with marshmellows (which more cafes should really do! Some places charge $2 for a small glass of milk!!). Everyone coming in seems to be on a first name basis with Scott, who does a great job on the old espresso machine. The cafe has the same laid back feel Scott brings, with a backing track of smooth jazz. Great new cafe that has only been open for 2 weeks now…read more Service can be a bit slow, however, i put that down to teething issues so will probably be a few more weeks once they get the hang of people etc. Ordered a chicken panini the first time round and that was great, toasted with rocket, semi dried tomato and swiss cheese! Who knew all the flavours would sync. Coffee is good, Staff are friendly and helpful. They have outdoor seating as well as indoors. Has an industrial vibe feel to it with its brick walls and large brick wood fired oven for the pizzas! Lots of different specials everyday in their bain marie stand so def one to check out if you are in the area.

Instead, I decided to pass on my pretty penny and add some calories! It was a good decision. There's Pizza and Pasta in addition to the Burgers and Sandwiches. We both had a tummy ache afterwards. The burger meat was... strange. I have no idea if the beef patties were over processed or seasoned with the wrong herbs, but it was enough for us to never want to eat their burgers again. We went up to the kitchen and asked the cooks who looked a bit confused and hesitant but agreed. After we went up to the bar and ordered the fries and the buffalo wings. The waitress went to confirm with the cooks and charged us the price of the nachos. When the food came out, they actually had the chili and cheese in a separate bowl and the fries on a plate. I thought it was a bit weird, but I poured the chili over it and it looked pretty damn good. It tasted damn good too. My friends were pleasantly surprised and we scarfed the fries down pretty quick. The buffalo wings were also really good and had a nice spicy kick. Another plus about this place is they have a Stacker machine, which is the most addicting game in the world. Overall a very cool pub, slightly pricey for pub food but any place that has or is willing to serve chili cheese fries is alright by me.
