Pretty comprehensive drinks list and although the food is fairly simple it comes out fast, is fresh, and reasonably priced if you're sharing between a few people. I'd never tried a cheeseburger spring roll but they're basically all the ingredients of a cheeseburger in a deep fried roll - yum! Between this place and Empty Lane up the road the hills are starting to get some decent places to have a drink at.

The cocktail list is split into 3 sections of classics, modern & creamy all coming in a shade under $20 a pop created by genuine experienced mixologists. The place is presented beautifully. Almost something you would consider to be a bit of an almost Melbournesque eatery, exposed brick walls, cute mismatched decor and dark inside. The owner makes a big effort to speak to you personally and ensure the staff are looking after you - which they're not really and I think it's his presence that keeps them working. When we went for dinner, the owner took our details promising the launch of a crab house in the coming weeks. That obviously hasn't happened and there's been no update at all so will be interesting to see what happens there. 3. The menu sucks and the food is average. There's just not enough on offer and at a range of prices (remembering it's a 10min walk from the UWS parra campus). Lunch was a selection of 4 burgers, one vego salad, a pan fried salmon (at $30!) and a chicken breast. Meh. I want a healthy sandwich, or a selection of salads, something more!! (And yes, I'm channelling Open City here, or anything in the USA). I don't remember the extent of the dinner menu but it was definitely short. We started with eggplant tapenade and pâté, both straight out of the fridge which was a mismatch to the warm toasted bread. Eggplant was bitter, however the gherkins helped lift the pâté. Salt and pepper calamari was the worst I've ever had -- enormous rings with no salt or pepper. The one highlight was the garlic prawns which were well seasoned and tasty. The last dish we tried were the beef skewers - unseasoned mince on skewers with the same salad we'd seen twice before -- mixed leaves with a balsamic glaze. Unless someone gives the food some taste and oomph this great opportunity for a longed-for wine bar in Beecroft will slip away.

Its a basic bar with a big pokies area at the back, nightclub upstairs, and dining area at the front with bi fold windows opening out onto Church Street. The lunch special is really what draws me in veery time. For $12 you can get a range of meals with a beer - that's pretty good value even among all the Church St restaurants competing for the lunch crowds attention. I usually grab the steak and blue cheese sauce with salad and chips. Its a decent size meal and the blue cheese sauce is amazing. Just a hint though - order your steak a bit more cooked what what you would usually order. I like rare to medium so I order medium. They tend to under cook them a bit. The only downside is that you can't swap the beer for another drink and a glass of coke is about $4 so you may as well enjoy the beer! But that aside its a great lunch spot and for $12 for a meal and a beer you can't go wrong!

The restaurant has a quite extensive menu with specials. We ordered lasagna for one meal which was a generous serve. I ordered the special pork cutlet which was a double cutlet with a mustard based sauce and some vegetables the meal was huge and my wife ordered Eye Fillet which was cooked as ordered and was very tasty and again large. All in all a good experience.
