Uncle Kurt's is a tiny one room cocktail dive bar in a back alley under a multistorey carpark just across from the old Parramatta Mall not far from the old Roxy. They've gone with a New York theme with heavily graffitied walls, hip hop beats & deli style sandwiches, meats & jaffles. The cocktail list is split into 3 sections of classics, modern & creamy all coming in a shade under $20 a pop created by genuine experienced mixologists. If cocktails aren't your go they also have a mixture of craft beers, a variety of wine & of course straight up spirits. Staff are all friendly, knowledgeable & happy to help.

As others have said, they do seem to cater to smokers, but we were able to find a spot that was pretty much smoke free in the courtyard. It was quite busy as we arrive about 5:30 and there were a lot of locals that appeared to have just gotten off work and were enjoying drinks. It is near/in the CBD close to the train station. They have copper beer tanks which are supposed to be filled with fresh Carlton Draught beer directly from the brewery. I tried it, and it didn't seem to maker the beer any better. Maybe it does taste different, but I could not tell. They did have a good beer selection overall. What seems to be somewhat typical in the area, we ordered at the bar, and were give a buzzer to let us know when our food was ready. We then went and picked it up from the counter along with utensils. We had the Crispy Skin Pork Belly and the Crab ravioli Both were very tasty and exceeded our expectations. The only reason They get 4 instead of 5 stars is the smoking and that we didn't really finds a designated non-smoking area. I'd go there again.

I would have to say it may not look like much but the tasting plates can get filling so if you are getting mains as well best try not to eat all the bread! Staff were very attentive and helpful when it came to the selections on the menu. Overall, good first time visit. Looking forward to going back to try some of the mains. Turbo Trivia is hosted by the notorious drag queen Portia Turbo. It's always good for a laugh and it packs out. Be sure to get there early to secure a table. There also is a Board Gamers meetup group that meets on a Monday night to play board games. Check meetup.com and search for the group Game Lovers for more information. The club also has a restaurant with Asian and Aussie cuisine which is reasonably priced. Discounts if you're a member. There is also a cafe who's serves coffee, tea and cakes. There is also a outdoors smokers area, snooker tables, pokie machines etc. Membership is cheap and also gives you access to the Castle Hill RSL Club for discounts for food and drinks, which is owned by the same people. Membership at Castle Hill RSL costs about $80 a year so having this access is a great bonus.
