It's been a couple of years since I was in Scottsdale at Power + Flow but I feel they have done a…read morereally nice job of expanding out their strength studio and additional seating area. I finally got to take queen Kristina's class and she's so good about making sure to break down choreography slowly at first to help you pick it up. As she would say, practice makes perfect. Don't be discouraged if you don't get all the armography with the quick footwork on your first try. I've been cycling for years and even then I felt like I was constantly botching the choreography in this class, but I was grateful for the challenge. Nice and clean facilitates with water stations, lockers and towels.

At first I was incredibly intimated looking at all the very fit people in attendance and I was worried. But Cassidy is very intentional with the way she lays out her class and takes time to cue your breathing and core engagement. Her instructions completely changed the way I was able to connect with the workout. I wanted to cry after class because I could actually keep up! I could have closed my eyes and followed the instructor's directions, she was that specific. Her experience as a PT and presence alone is very transformative. Also she offers modifications. 100/10 would take her class again.

I've been to several spin studios and while I have my tried and true studio at my hometown in CA,…read moreCyclebar is easily becoming a favorite. Here's why: AMENITIES, AMENITIES, AMENITIES! - Each class comes with a free pair of cycle shoes you can rent, a towel, a Cyclebar 32 oz water bottle (it's yours to keep! Yes, every time, so I bring the same one haha) that you can fill with chilled or room temp water. Free lockers are available to stash your belongings. Girls, if you forgot your hair tie, bobby pin, chapstick - just pick one up in the jars at the front desk or the bathrooms. - If you need to get ready to go somewhere immediately after your spin ride but don't have time to go home, there are 2 individual shower rooms complete with towels, deodorant spray, body spray for men and women, a hair dryer, straightener, combs, tampons, q-tips, Aveeno lotion and a plastic bag for your sweaty gym attire. - If you just want to lightly freshen up and wipe down your sweat, you can pick up individually packaged body wipes (which I love!!). FUN, FAT-BURNING 50-MINUTE CLASSES - I despise workout routines that take more than an hour, which is why spin has been a top contender and Cyclebar keeps with that schedule, yay! - Classes are incredibly varied, so if you get bored like me, there's something different everyday of the week- 80's mashup, dance party, HIIT, classic etc. - Lots of morning and evening times! - Weights for upper arms are a part of the spin curriculum; Cyclebar uses weight batons, which are available in 4 lb and 6 lbs. - These classes are not easy. I repeat, NOT EASY. My legs feel like jello every time and the instructors challenge your entire class with electronic scoreboards during your ride. CUSTOMER SERVICE -I think a very common sentiment is that fitness studios are full of snooty instructors and staff who are not friendly or welcoming, but Cyclebar staff has been nothing but helpful - very inviting and helpful for first-timers and regulars. -Excellent package deals! First ride is free, and currently there's a $99 unlimited month for new clients.

What I will say is that I had an amazing experience from check-in and beyond. The studio location is conveniently located and is absolutely, at check-in, the staff was informative and made sure that the asked questions to make sure I had a safe and fun ride. I had tried another studio previously, and what I will say is that I did find the bikes here were extremely comfortable, as were the cycle shoes. Cycle shoes are available for rent if you don't own any, but I do also believe that they have cages if you're not committed to cycle shoes. The class was so much fun. It was literally like attending a party on a bike. I love the music choice. I love the instructor, their class I attended was hosted by DJ. and I really loved the inclusiveness to make sure that everyone was able to make modifications and enjoy the class. I live pretty far in the West Valley, close to Buckeye, so I'm not sure if this will be something I'll be able to attend routinely, but I do plan on adding a couple of classes here to my fitness schedule!

I needed to rent shoes so I did and one of the instructors helped me get set up on my bike and it was nice! Then, as soon as I sat down they made us move a whole row forward since not many people showed up then I set my bike up again myself and I instantly noticed the right shoe or right pedal felt like the shoe was slippery on the heel compared to the first bike I set up. 20 minutes into the class I stand up during the ride and my shoe unclips itself and I fall, the pedal hits me in the calf and I start bleeding from the spikes. I clipped back in and finished the class since I knew I was okay. Class ends and I tell the lady at the front desk to check my bike and my shoes to make sure no one else will get hurt! She asked me the bike number I also told her to check the shoes and she said she'd tell the owner. I mentioned I was bleeding and my leg was cut and she said "oh my gosh I'm so sorry that happened" she never offered me a bandaid... didn't ask if I was okay... nothing! So I left and she said have a nice day. I wasn't mad about it at all! I don't care I didn't want anything from them but considering I went home bleeding... looking back they could've at least offered me a bandaid.

It is rare in that it both has a soul and is run exceptionally well. Everyone from the owner and teachers to desk staff put their heart into the Shop, and it shows. The owner Ashley does an amazing job at creating a warm and inclusive environment where you can get your yoga fix, get your workout on in barre or spin, and have fun and make friends in the process. They have regular community events, teacher trainings, and a stacked class schedule with something for everyone. Teachers are knowledgeable and welcoming - this studio attracts and creates top tier instructors without the bullsh*t. Ashley, Justin, Jenny, Kandi, Anaiz, Mo, Sara... I'd keep going, but I can't list everyone and there literally is not a teacher here I wouldn't recommend. Big plus that the space is beautiful and in a great location near AJ's, good restaurants, and shopping. I work from home, and for almost 5 years I have considered this studio my home away from home.
