My wife and I are beyond happy with the work the boys from groundworks. They really went ABOVE AND BEYOND what they were hired to do while they were here, and we really want to make sure that management & especially corporate understand how much of an impact these guys made on us. If I had my own business, Richard B, Samuel A, and Ruben S are THE BEST example of who I would want working/representing my company. Groundworks, please take care of these guys as they will continue to have a major impact ensuring your company remains successful and continues to grow for years to come. On behalf of South Lake Tahoe, we would love to see you guys around town more often helping other family's as much as you helped us. Thank you guys so much. And a final shout out to Stan Caylor and Nick for also facilitating the construction, awesome customer service and communication during this entire process. PS, excuse my language but a 50 dollar bonus is fuckin' BULLSHIT. Take care of these employees and they'll continue taking care of you. read more

DON'T USE GROUNDWORKS. Overpriced, bad service, and shoddy work. I understand there are a lot of people out there who are facing foundation settling issues with their homes in Sacramento region due to the clay content of our soil. My recommendation would be to not give Groundworks your business. There are other companies in the region who are far more affordable. I was given this same warning before choosing to use Groundwork's, and I ignored it at. Don't make the same mistake that I did. read more

I reached out concerning cracks, wear and settling in my old detached garage. The estimator crawled under the house to do a full inspection and mentioned some foundation items that could use repair and additional support. The appointment ran for three hours. It's been three weeks and no follow up or estimate has been sent over for any part of or all of the work that was going to be recommended. (See below reply, the company can't even find my appointment. The estimators name was Brent S.) read more

I do NOT recommend this company. They waited until the morning of the day of installation to tell me the project cannot go on as planned; we had cleared our calendars weeks in advance to accommodate this work. Initially, they said they needed to get permits and their engineers to review the job, so I decided to get estimates from other firms. Then they said they could dispense with the engineering and permits for this very simple job, so I gave the go-ahead to proceed. Then they decided at the last minute, the very morning of the scheduled work, that they indeed needed permitting and clearance from their engineers to proceed, essentially doubling the cost of the job. I feel this constitutes a major breach of trust. This company has very significant internal issues, especially regarding communications. One would do well to consult with other foundation contractors, as Groundworks is not a reliable company. read more

WHAT A NIGHTMARE !!!! Stay as far away from this company as you can. They were late every day, and did severe and substantial damage to my home. They will give you the complete runaround, they dont return calls and you dont know who will be on the job from one day to the next. The GM Yana, refused to visit my job site, dances around every conversation and avoids offering any solutions. This is guilt and manipulation at its finest. read more

Groundworks couldn't lift the sidewalk as quoted so they gave me a practical refund, I appreciated that.

I would strongly caution against anyone considering Groundworks for foundation evaluation. During the purchase of our home, a void was discovered beneath the foundation in the kitchen area during the home inspection. Groundworks was hired to evaluate the issue and provide a repair plan. Groundworks inspected the void and assured us the issue was minor, there was no foundation damage, and the problem could be permanently repaired for approximately $15,000. Due to needing permits and time for scheduling, the work could only be done after close of escrow. We specifically expressed concern that the problem might be larger than it appeared and asked what would happen if their diagnosis turned out to be wrong once work had begun. We were assured that Groundworks stood behind its assessment to fix the issue for the amount quoted and if they misdiagnosed the problem they would adjust their plan accordingly but the cost will not change. The inspector confirmed their quotes were "price quote guaranteed" and the quote provided would fully solve the issue. Those representations were important because we were considering walking away from the purchase. Instead, we moved forward after the sellers agreed to pay for the Groundworks-recommended repair. When Groundworks later returned to perform the work, we were informed that the original diagnosis was incorrect. Over the following months, three different Groundworks representatives provided three substantially different assessments of the same property. What began as a $15,000 repair eventually became recommendations for $80,000 when all identified repairs were considered. After expressing concerns about the conflicting information and the impact this had on our family, Groundworks management indicated they would review the situation, acknowledging and admitting fault in the initial inspection and plan that led us to purchase this home. Instead, we later received a revised proposal for the same dollar amount, but containing new language advising customers not to rely on Groundworks' inspection when making a home purchase decision. That was particularly troubling because relying on Groundworks' assessment is exactly what we had done, the original contract contained no such language, and Groundworks was 100% clear and aware their inspection was related to a home purchase. The result is that we purchased a home based in part on Groundworks' evaluation and are now facing foundation concerns and repair costs far beyond what was originally represented. We spent months attempting to resolve the matter directly with Groundworks. Groundworks declined to take action, claiming that it is our fault for not seeking a second opinion initially. Homeowners deserve accurate information when making one of the largest financial decisions of their lives and this company has proven they are untrustworthy. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

We used them a yr ago to lift a drive way/ steps in front and back. John was a great salesman. Some of what he offered couldn't happen ( per guy who came out). He did try but it was just to appease us.. so a yr later they come out and check everything and it's okay except for driveway. We set an appt to have someone come talk to us about this. First appt they spaced ( not sure reason) made second appt and they never showed, no call nothing. So not impressed for what we paid.supposedly they are employe owned. I would except better. What they do is interesting but overpriced for sure read more

The initial inspection and work happened a year ago which was great. The warranty also covers future inspections and I had one today that was just as great. A man named, Bon, was trying to reschedule due to multiple bookings at the same time. I was not communicating as well as I should have so he shifted the other client. He came out did a solid inspection of the backyard and explained some areas were slightly higher but that's ok too. I hadn't noticed so it is all good to me. He was professional, showed up on time, engaging as a rep, and very willing to answer any and all questions. Thank you Bon for meeting and exceeding my customer service expectations. Kudos Groundworks for hiring solid individuals! read more

I contracted Groundworks to install push piers to support my home's concrete slab foundation. Theoretically, they completed the installation on 06/04/26. However, as of this writing--over three months later--I am left with a front door I cannot use, a side yard filled with half-dug pits and exposed construction equipment, and no actual end in sight to this project. On July 17th, Groundworks contacted me informing me that the city needed to take new photos to approve the permit, but no timeline as to when that might happen. Over another month after that, we were instead told that six of the piers needed to be reinstalled. I attempted to schedule this a number of times, and Groundworks both failed to make appointments in a timely manner, and abruptly canceled on appointments the few times I was able to make them. Finally, on 09/14/26 and 09/15/26 they were able to send out a team to begin the work. However, they did not finish anything and have not been back since, despite assurances by various Groundworks personnel to the contrary. Eight of the piers have been excavated. I cannot enter or exit my home's front door. I cannot let my dog out into my yard without supervising to make sure he doesn't end up trapped in a pit. I don't even really know how long to expect things will be this way, because I have no faith that Groundworks' administration is even concerned with fixing things, at this point. I would rate zero stars if it were an option. read more

Pros: the inspector and customer service representatives were friendly and professional during interactions. Scheduling an inspection on the website was easy and convenient. Free estimates. Cons: never received the estimate. No one reached out to follow up with me after I contacted them multiple times about the estimate. Ended up wasting a lot of my time. Would I recommend Groundworks: No. Looks like Groundworks serves multiple states/regions, my review is for the Sacramento region. Requested an estimate on the Groundworks website on 07/31, received the confirmation email with scheduled appointment for an inspector to come out and take a look at my concrete driveway for possible poly level lifting. Over the next few days received a couple of emails confirming the inspector information and additional information on what to expect from the inspection process. The day before the inspection, the inspector called to confirm the appointment and asked if I had any questions at that time. I had none and confirmed everything for the next day. On 08/08, the day of the scheduled inspection, no one showed up for the scheduled time. About 25 minutes later the inspector called and notified me he was dealing with an issue and could still come if I was available. I was home that day, so it was fine and things happen so no big deal. The inspector, Ben, was eventually able to come and do the inspection. He was very polite and attentive, he asked about what I was looking for in the repairs and then took a look around the driveway for cracks and uneven slabs, etc. We discussed the process and he gave some rough estimates of potential costs for the repair. I asked about some additional areas that might need repairs, which he inspected as well. Ben was very helpful and professional throughout. After he finished, I asked if he would be emailing an estimate with the details, etc. He said yes and we concluded the visit. On 08/17 I texted Ben to follow up since I had not received the estimate (searched inbox, spam folder, etc.). He said he had sent it out already but would resend it that evening. On 08/21 I texted him again to follow up because I still couldn't find anything in my email, I asked if he could verify he had the correct email address. He never replied. On 08/24 I called the Groundworks customer service number to follow up, I confirmed my email address information and asked if they could email the estimate to me. The representative said the estimate was ready and she would submit a request to another department to send it to me later that day. On 08/28 I called Groundworks customer service again to follow up since I still hadn't received the estimate. The representative said she would send a message to the inspector (Ben) and request the estimate. To this day I still have not received the estimate, or any follow up from Groundworks or Ben. I can't imagine it was a problem with my email address because I received all the initial emails from them with no problems. Obviously, I have given up on Groundworks at this point. I received an estimate from a competitor who mentioned Groundworks was the bigger provider in the area and Ben had mentioned the same during the inspection. This may be a situation where the bigger provider didn't feel like my project was worth their time because they have much bigger jobs coming in (Ben did mention that my project might fall under the company minimum charge) or maybe they just have really bad customer service and follow up? Unfortunately, since no one from Groundworks ever tried to follow up with me to confirm if I had received the estimate or to try to solve any issues with emailing the estimate, I have no way of knowing exactly what happened. Based on my experience I would not recommend Groundworks. read more

Hired Groundworks to look at my home in Sacramento. They left me stalled out for 2 months waiting for a decision on financing. Also promised me documentation for what exactly was wrong with the foundation. After 2 months, they returned by down-payment, and never would return my calls after weeks. They quoted 33k to fix a crack in the foundation and to level out the house. They kept promising they'd find a financing solution that would work for me, then entirely disappeared on me. Hired another foundation company, and they said the work would only cost 17k. They knew i was a disabled veteran in a tough spot, after already dealing with numerous other home repairs. Made a ton of empty promises, then completely left me hanging. and delayed me even further when i'm dealing with numerous other bad situations with this home. Extremely disappointed. read more

I should have read Yelp reviews before I hired Groundworks. I'm selling my 45+ year old house in Natomas; there's a small 18" crack in the corner of the garage that was already there when I bought the house 3 years ago. The prospective buyers were worried about it being a structural foundation issue so I was initially more than happy to call groundworks out for a "free consultation" to prove to them there was nothing wrong. Groundworks estimator (who was adamant he wasn't an engineer and merely an estimator) slapped us with a $34k estimate (see photos), which understandably alarmed the buyers. From there I had to pay $750 to hire a real structural foundation engineering firm to come out. The engineer did a full house inspection and gave me a full report with a PE stamp stating "Based on our observations at the time of inspection, the foundation and framing systems appear to be performing as intended, and the home remains safe for occupancy." There's more to that but basically, Groundworks bogus $34k estimate is a total scam, unnecessary, and in the end, cost me the sale of my house because my prospective buyers cancelled the transaction due to all of this. As I told people about all of this, I learned about a bunch of other people who almost got scammed by them too. They don't know what they're doing - do not use them! read more

Groundwork's came out to add a drainage system to our crawl space. The crew did an amazing job! Mark, the foreman, did a wonderful job keeping us apprised of the work everyday. The crew: Robert, Ruben, Daniel M, Kamari C Trae H, and Marques did a great job. The job was a big one, but they attacked it and were able to complete it. I appreciate how respectful, polite and responsive they were, not only with us but our home as well. Great job guys! read more

Juan came out to the house here in Carson City Nevada and immediately realized that we were a manufactured home and he was unable to inspect and give us an estimate for repair. He did take time and help me locate a manufactured home specialist that can do the leveling and repair of our home. Juan is an exceptional employee! Going above and beyond his parameters. Thank you Juan and thank you groundworks! I will definitely refer your company to any family and friends that may need to have their physical home repaired. read more

The entire project went well. The team started on time and finished early. Luis G, the Foreman was very communicative and concise about the scope of the project. Both Ken H, the Co-Foreman, and Mark P, the installer, were hard working and detailed in their job. The entire team went out of their way not to destroy the entire set of plants and vines that were in front of my house where the project was located. I really appreciated the team as I felt they went above and beyond their regular duties to save and/remove some aspects of shrubbery near the project. I would definitely recommend this team to work on your project. They were all very professional, very detailed, and precise in getting my job completed in a timely fashion. Thank you!!!! read more

Be careful ! I had Groundworks fix (or I thought) our foundation. For the past 8 months I have tried to get them to fix the foundation that they made WORSE ! No one will return a call . The crack we had before is now 3x worse ! It has grown into a massive crack in the house now at least30 ft long !! They refuse to even talk about it! So now I have to file complaints everywhere ( State board etc ) I assume I won't get any help or response until we sue . Sad very sad - so be careful they talk a good line - unfortunately that's all it is A Line ! read more

Scam. They came out & told me I had big issues, needed a bunch of work done. Gonna cost me over 30k. Called 2nd company to come look... "not a thing wrong with your foundation. That is normal wear & tear" Wouldn't recommend. read more
