I recently moved into a house, which I found out shortly afterwards that the builders did a very poor job on the foundation. I called Groundworks, who came out with their state of the art equipment, found out where the problem areas are, and gave a quote to fix it. Although it'll take a while to be able to afford the cost of fixing the house's foundation, I was able to have them fix the front porch since it is connected to the roof. They did a great job with leveling it, and even explaining to me what they are doing. All in all, I am quite impressed with Groundworks, and will look forward to figuring out a way to be able to afford to get the house's foundation fixed. read more

Groundworks mistakenly overbilled my credit card by $1,872.00 Our sales rep & the Montgomeryville office couldn't do enough for us when we signed the contract, but now direct us to reach out to corporate as this is not their issue. Been trying daily to have this refunded since 10/15/2026. No resolution. Each time I call, I get the same run around. Nothing they can do, it's stuck within billing, or accounting, or whomever. It's a shame, because I believed in their product and process, but there is absolutely no post sales support. Would not recommend. read more

I thought I was going to have no more than a half hour inspection of my premises to see how water was coming in the basement, e.g. ground water pressure, leak in foundation or window wells, gutters and downspouts set wrong, etc. and how to reduce humidity and mold. That is what initial contact at Groundworks assured me. NO! It was a boring 2.5 hour memorized sales pitch for their $26,000.00 system which would rip up floor concrete, remove stairs and outdoor patio, relocate electricalpanel and leave me with added repairs for which I would have to find other contractors and pay additional money. There was not even a pretense to give me what I wanted, and he kept saying he was not qualified to diagnosis the water problem, only qualified to recite how their system is installed. Beware! My son and I reset the downspouts of the gutters after doing our own "amateur" inspection. It rained torrentially twice already and- surprise - no water in the basement. I want to start by saying I actually believe in this product. Foundation and waterproofing work is something I was genuinely interested in, and if the sales process had been handled with any respect, I likely would have moved forward. Unfortunately, my experience with the sales rep made that impossible. From the first visit, the pressure was constant. The rep kept bringing up bonuses, his own bonuses, not any benefit to me, to push me into deciding on the spot. When I said no, he didn't accept it and kept going. I said no more times than I can count, in person during that visit and then repeatedly by phone afterward. He also pushed hard to get me into a loan to finance the work, something I never asked about and made clear I wasn't interested in. I never signed anything. Not a contract, not a work order, nothing. I made that explicit, verbally, by phone, and in writing. Despite that, the calls and texts kept coming. Eventually, without my authorization or signature, they scheduled a crew to come do the work. I had to repeat myself over and over, providing the same answer I'd already given a dozen times, just to try to get them to stop. I have documentation of all of it: texts, emails, and voicemails, all showing the same thing, me declining and them continuing anyway. That's not a communication gap. That's a company that doesn't take no for an answer until you make them. It's genuinely disappointing, because I don't doubt the work itself might be good. But a good product shouldn't need this kind of pressure to sell. Nobody should have to fight this hard just to be left alone after saying no. I had a French drain installed by Groundworks last week. I found the salesman to be a little pushy, and when I asked him if they will have to bring in any heavy equipment, he said yes, a backhoe. I assumed that this was the reason for the $4000 cost. As it turned out, the crew showed up...just three of them with shovels. No backhoe. They worked hard, and did the job correctly without the backhoe. But this felt a little like bait-n-switch to me. read more

Texted the salesman to cancel and provided him the signature of cancelation. He informed me it would take a few days for the refund and he would push this to the cancelation department as well. Josh Kennedy is the best!! He helped my mom with a water issue on the patio, and I hired him to do the waterproofing of my basement. They came back out and agreed the pipe was not buried properly. They are supposed to come in a couple weeks and re bury it. Said it does not have to be buried below freeze line. Original just threw dirt on line and didn't bury in ditch that cost an extra $2500.00. Now they say I needed a vapor barrier wall to direct water into sump pump drain, an additional $780. read more

Groundworks provided an encapsulation of the crawl space beneath our townhouse. It involved water seal and foam board for the walls and floor. We'd had similar work done a couple years ago and we were very unhappy with the results. Though Groundworks had a higher quote, some of which was the removal of materials from the previous company's efforts, the end result is great and so far we feel it's been worth every penny. Following the initial work, we've had a couple minor issues, and we're pleased to say the company addressed them effectively and efficiently, responding with a crew within 48 hours of our telling them about the problem. Their office person (Michele) did a great job of coordinating their field people and made doing business with the company a pleasant experience. We're in our late 70's so touring crawlspaces is not on our bucket list - the Groundworks people were happy to provide pictures of what they were doing or had done throughout the job. I made an appointment online. Later I had a person call to reschedule the appointment since she was out of town. The day before appointment she calls again saying that she will be on her way. I said no, our appointment is the next day. Once she came out she did not really look over anything. Was done with appointment in about 20 minutes. Never looked at crawl space. Said she would get with an engineer and get back with me. I said ok. She then texted me at 10pm asking when she can go over things with me. Did not text back till next morning (A business texting at 10pm is uncalled for). Said I was busy in the morning, but anything in the afternoon would be fine. NEVER heard from her again. We had hired groundworks as water was coming into our basement. We had minor scheduling issues but that was worked out. The day came and 3 men came and did the job. Mike (foreman) asked us to do a review and at that time we had no issues and agreed. The problem came about 3-4 weeks later when my 11yr old grandson went downstairs where we have a bar to get his basketball cards. ALL OF THEM WERE GONE!!! These were in a zippered bag and a sports tin. They were the only people in our basement. His favorite player is Steph Curry and these cards weren't worth thousands but to a small boy, they were everything. It took us hours to calm him down. I contacted the salesman that we originally scheduled this with as well as emailed the manager Taylor McBryan and received no response. This company knows exactly who was here and did the work. I know they aren't goin to admit anything but my grandson didn't deserve this either. So far the work they did is fine but I will NEVER have them in my home again!!! This organization was hired to install floor jacks and beams in the crawl space of my house. The purpose was to address some settling in the house which had led to several cracks in the wall. A salesperson was sent out to evaluate the problem and took several measurements and looked at the main support beam in the crawl space. The salesperson noted that the main beam and jacks were okay, but that a new beam and jack supports were needed to support the with of the floors and address the cracks. Besides being very expensive, the installation was incompetent - the installers put the 20 feet of beam and jack supports in the wrong place. The cracks did not get worse, but when another representative came out to the house to inspect he discovered the new beams were placed in the wrong place. In addition, this salesmen stated that the jack posts for the main beam in the house (Original construction) needed to be replaced and offered an outrageous amount to fix the the problem. By his own admission the second salesmen stated the 20 feet of beam would not address the issue of the cracks in the walls. Thus I was sold an overpriced solution which was then incompetently implemented - complete stupidity! Under no circumstances trust this company to perform any work on your property. Dan read more

Groundwork's was very professional in handling the raising of two of our walkways. The crew of Jesse and Chris were extremely professional in all aspects of their work. They communicated that morning letting us know they would be here at their allotted appointment time. They called again to tell me they finished one job early and would come early if that was acceptable and it was. When they got here Jesse took the time to explain the process they would be working. They went through a questionnaire to make sure they had our approval. Once we OKd the project they began the work. It took them about 2 hours and they began the work immediately and were professional in every aspect of their project. They worked like a well trained team and completed the work to our satisfaction cleaning up everything when they finished. Once they had completed the work we checked everything they did and were extremely pleased with the work. And the sidewalks that had sunk about 2-3 inches were perfectly level and looked like new. Both my wife and I couldn't be more satisfied. Would recommend groundwork's to anyone needed cement leveling. Plan on using them again for a cracked driveway. Upon completion they took me through a final review of what was done and had questions regarding our satisfaction before they asked to be paid. I really liked that! I am trying to give a review for Groundworks in Minneapolis, who just bought out innovative basement authority. Buyer beware: these people are sales people. I was very disappointed in their free assessment of the noticeable water damage in our home. They said we needed to install drain tile, use their proprietary system, and said it would only cost $17,000.00 to only "sign today!" I felt like they took advantage of me by preying on the fact that I was a new homeowner, identifying foundation "cracks" which are typical for any concrete when a home is settling. Finally, I wouldn't have left this review (because although sales-y, the guys were nice and just trying to do their job) BUT they were COMPLETELY wrong about what the problem was. One of our drains was leaking, and they didn't diagnose that. They said that it was a foundation problem, a grading problem, which could be fixed by us paying $17k to fix something that they improperly diagnosed. I would stay away from these sales people who try to get you to sign on the dotted line with scare tactics of an imminent basement flood or foundation crack. Its a riot! I hired them to do everything. They trenched, put up vapor barrier, braced the south wall that was bad, installed sump pump, battery back up, dehumidifier, and leveled my sidewalks (separate crew). I kept them updated after every step of my to-do list that they provided between cleaning out the basement, breaking down the laundry area, and upgrading my electrical to accommodate the battery backup and separate breakers and outlets. They spent 2 days at my house working (3/30/26 & 3/31/26). When they were done, they told me that they would need to come back in a week to tighten some bolts because they had to pour some concrete and needs longer to cure. I said OK and just call me when they were coming back. Work finished 3/31/26. 4/8 - I texted the salesperson asking when they would be coming back. I was told that she would reach out. Nothing further. 4/30 - I texted again asking when they would be coming out. I was told to let her message him. Nothing further. 5/11 - I texted again about their return. She said that she would reach out again. 5/25 - At this point I was annoyed and texted her to just forget it. Told them now that they are paid and got their initial positive review that they don't seem to care . That I was disappointed. Doesn't give me hope for their yearly inspections for 5 years to make sure everything is still running well. So, I am taking away a star from my initial review. read more

For the last few years, I always request Zach Moren when it comes time for my yearly maintenance appts. Here is why: Zach will not over sell or push you into making additional purchases, if there is no current need. His approach is to be advisory, consultative and so when he does make a recommendation, he's earned your trust and you take him at his word. Also, a year ago when he was in my basement doing maintenance, he noticed one of my very old sewer pipes had a major crack. He brought this to our attention. Had he not been so thorough, there would have been a major problem for us in the near future. Thanks to Zach, we were able to get a plumber to fix it before a flood occurred. This to me = added value. Zach cares about his customers and this one example shows. He is personable, professional, patient, knowledgable and has excellent client facing skills. Team that showed up didn't have all the tools needed. I supplied ladder and lighting. The white wrap was horribly pieced together using silver duct tape. They apparently ran out of drainage matt so just covered with the white wrap. After they left, I called their shop. Several weeks later a supervisor showed up and said they agreed the job was bad and promised to make it right. Two weeks later a new crew showed up (without supervisor) and asked me what I wanted them to do. I had to literally point out all the issues. Upon completion with the repairs, they agreed that the original install was very bad. Fast forward...one year later I was expecting a call for the one-year warranty checkup. NOTE: I do not leave negative reviews, but what was sold as a fast, dust-free waterproofing job turned into months of mess, unsafe wiring, and broken promises. Apparently many of their teams and other departments do good work, judging by reviews. Our experience with their waterproofing sales team, system and upper management, however, left us dumbfounded. We paid $20,000 to Groundworks (formerly Baker's Waterproofing) for a dust-free, 3-day waterproofing job. Instead, our home was left coated in concrete dust, the work was rushed and unsafe wiring still powers our sump pump and air filtration system. Promised electrician service, cleaning, and a $750 reimbursement never happened. Three months later, we still can't safely use the $10,000 filtration system we were sold. Precious time with my infant daughter and aging parents that I had to spend cleaning every nook and cranny of my home while caretaking my 8 month old and elderly parents who were meant to stay over the summer but have still been unable to due to production manager dropping every ball and keeping this project on hold. Took two months for them to come out and look at the dehumidifier. Was told it needed replaced. Waited over two weeks and was never called had to call myself and was scheduled for a holiday and they aren't even open holidays. Took over another two months for them to come out and replace it. When they did come to replace it, the technician wasted my time by verifying that it needed replaced. Ok well then what did the other guy do? It was already checked by a technician saying it needs replaced. Technician was just doing his job and was very nice but I was annoyed because we already verified that over two months ago. Even though the on-site groundworkers were thorough and professional, I cannot say I am satisfied with the overall process. Robert Vernacchio, the salesperson, came to my home, showed me a picture, and explained how he could lift my foundation. I paid $3,000 for their engineer, only to later discover that Robert had removed three critical jacks from the project cost. When questioned, he falsely claimed I had requested their removal, despite the jacks being included in the original diagram. These jacks were the primary reason I sought their service in the first place. I had to contact the company to have them added back, resulting in additional costs. After the job was completed, I realized that the original issue remained unresolved because Robert failed to mention that the sagging area was actually under another pillar. This meant the work they performed did not address my concern. I attempted to contact Robert multiple times, only receiving a single text apologizing and promising to call back--he never did. As a homeowner, I trusted his 15 years of experience to provide accurate recommendations so I could make the best decision for my home. Instead, his lack of attention to detail and transparency left me feeling deceived and misled. After posting my initial complaint, I received a call from Rudy, the sales manager. He asked me to remove my review and assured me they would send Dan, the site supervisor, to reassess the situation and fix it at no cost. However, when Dan arrived, he pointed out that the installed jacks were not even positioned to address the actual issue. The drop was surrounded by ventilation, making it impossible to lift. We both agreed that the original diagnosis and diagram were incorrect. Given this mistake, I requested a $3,000 refund to account for the three jacks that were improperly installed. Dan consulted Rudy, who refused, stating they "cant give it to me for free"because work was still performed--even though it was not the work I had originally agreed to. Instead, they offered me $1,500 in compensation. My question is simple: if you pay for a specific service and the company fails to deliver as promised, are you expected to simply accept that they "did some work", even if it was incorrect? This entire process has been frustrating and disappointing, and I feel misled once again. I am extremely dissatisfied. read more
