He checked everything, explained his findings and personally went over the overall condition of my furnace. Highly recommend!

I called Avalanche regarding my AC system not cooling effectively and when the technician arrived I was told that they could clean the units and add some refrigerant. I gave the approval to begin the work and when I came back out to ask about how things were going, I was told that they had to add SIX pounds of refrigerant to the first system and then was told it was $150 / lb. I immediately told them to STOP and asked why they would ever put that much refrigerant in a 'closed loop' system without checking for leaks. Jacob told me that it would be $2,200 to perform a leak check and that the leaks are always at the condensers which cannot be repaired. He then went on to provide me with a quote to replace the units which came out to over $22,000. (See pic) I reluctantly paid the invoice (see pic) and called another HVAC company for a second opinion and they were shocked at my experience. They reviewed the system and performed a leak analysis for $200 and ended up finding that a compression nut was loose and already had to add 1lb of refrigerant to the system (but at only $100/lb). Furthermore, they explained that my system COMPLETELY EMPTY only holds a little over 4lbs (see pic of unit tag) and a technician should never fill a completely empty system without checking for leaks. There's no possible way 6lbs of refrigerant could be charged into this system which was actually cooling our house to prior to their arrival. There's no question that I was ripped off here. I have a call into CDPHE regarding this negligence as well. Learn from my experience and call someone else such as ELKHORN.

I've had two different technicians come to my house and they've both been fantastic! I had the furnace and A/C replaced, and was so happy with the job that I had them add a thermostat (Nest) and a tankless water heater. Everything works perfectly! I had a tankless water heater put in at my last residence, and had nothing but problems with it and with the company that put it in. Same problem with the A/C in my last residence. I'm SOOOO happy I found them! Before I had them replace the thermostat, I was on vacation when the old one stopped working during the winter. They were able to get out to my house immediately (a few hours later) and fix the issue before anything froze. It was a Saturday at 8pm! I've recommended B.C. to another friend, and he thanked me profusely after they worked with him. The previous companies he worked with were inadequate, to say the least, and he's extremely happy with B.C. I can't recommend them enough! Now if I could only find a competent plumber... :)

A few years ago, when I lived in a 1950s house, I called him for an AC quote. Instead of just trying to make a sale, he took the time to explain that my old ductwork was undersized and would likely cause frozen coils -- and that installing AC wouldn't be a good idea. Every other company was still pushing expensive quotes, but he gave me honest advice that saved me thousands. That kind of integrity is hard to find. Fast forward -- I moved to a new home where the attic furnace was waking up my baby at night in the winter. He replaced it and sound-isolated it so well that it's now very quiet, even though it sits directly above my son's room. Later, I had him replace our main-level furnace too, and the workmanship and commitment to my satisfaction was unparalleled. Everyone I've referred him to -- friends, family, neighbors -- has had the same experience. His team's attention to detail, fair pricing, punctuality, and commitment to making sure the customer is completely happy are unmatched. Even when hardware compatibility issues have come up, they've gone above and beyond to make things right. It's also a true family-run business -- when you call, they actually pick up the phone, respond quickly, and stick to their word on scheduling. In today's world, that level of service is rare. I recommend them to everyone I know. If you want honest, high-quality HVAC work from people you can trust completely, this is the company to call.

What was the best was Joe did a great job of educating you on what is important in HVAC. He didn't try to sell you some warranty or "yearly maintenance plan" like other HVAC places. The whole experience was easy and made a not so fun purchase much more enjoyable. After all is said and done, I wish I had called Mountain Air first. If I would have contacted Mountain Air, this would have saved me 4.5 weeks of grief dealing with other companies who were disorganized, unable to keep appointments and would only show up to work a partial day. Yes, I was kept on the hook by other companies for that long with empty promises of we will be there today, tomorrow, next Wednesday...then they would not show up... or call to say they had to move the date. At one time I had 3 appointments by 3 different companies in a single week just hoping that one of them would show up that week. My situation was bad, I purchased a foreclosed house which was supposedly winterized which we later found out to not be accurate. The house had over 19 pipe breaks in the radiant heat system that had to be repaired before the Boiler could be worked on. However, my experience with Mountain Air went like this. I called Mountain Air on a Tuesday, December 13th 2016 at 5:15 p.m after yet another plumbing company could not make it and spoke with Cris, who told me that it was after hours and she was not in the office, but would call me back in the morning to setup an appointment. Wednesday morning I spoke with Cris and explained my history and I needed a plumber for a full day to fix all these breaks. She set me up with an appointment for the following Monday. However, on Thursday morning she called back and said she had an opening on Friday and would I like to have them stop by. ( Heck yes I would! , as this weekend it was going to be a -8 on Saturday and I was getting stressed about things freezing ) Thursday night, I got a phone call from the Tech Michael Stahl checking in to make sure he understood what was needed for the next day and if he should pick up any special parts. Then on Friday morning, he was on the job site at 8:05 a.m. ready to work. Yes.. that is not a typo error! He was on time and ready to go, unlike his competitors who would show up at 10:45 and 3:30 and leave in 2 hours Michael stayed until 6:30 p.m that night ( no lunch breaks ) and was able to get 5 out of 6 zones repaired and then fired up the boiler and got heat in that house before the cold front hit the next day. On Monday he came back and finished the last zone and then last night ( Wednesday ) he added Glycol to the system to protect my pipes from cold in the future. The office manager Azalia ? was kind and kept me in the loop as to the status of things. Other notable mentions: Michael came back and replaced zone valves and cleaned up the wiring so it looked professional and organized. ( I liked that too ! ) As you can tell, I am very pleased with how quickly things were repaired and how I felt like a customer. I totally "get it " why this company has 5 star rating.

He also suggested their monthly service plan and explained how that worked without seemingly like an upsell or hard sell. Just more a "hey, we have a great service plan if you're interested"...appreciate that. During an initial visit to evaluate the mechanical systems in my newly purchased home, I was quickly upmatched into their "Elite Membership." This program promises priority routing and discounts on future service calls--yet all of my existing systems are currently working perfectly fine. On that same visit, I agreed to $450 to replace a noisy exhaust fan, only to discover later that my local handyman would have charged $150 total. On subsequent visits, the pattern continued. Their technicians consistently recommend high-priced, major replacements--such as an entirely new water softener system--solely on the basis that my current unit is "old," despite acknowledging that it functions perfectly. You can always count on a push for a major upsell here. While I have yet to experience any ystem breakdown, this deeply embedded corporate sales culture makes it difficult to trust their recommendations. I'll stick with them for now but will be more cautious about accepting their recommendations
