I wanted to upgrade my 2007 Toyota Camry - backup camera (check) a nice Bluetooth radio (check) I contacted a couple places most noted the deals they had in store. . .and didn't have a lot of reasonable options. After some looking, I found what I wanted on Amazon. A middle of the line nice touchscreen with GPS, etc. . .and backup Camry compatible. Ground gear was totally okay with me buying my own selection from Amazon and installing it. The added bonus (unlike geek squad or similar) Ground gear comes to your house. The only downside was that we had to do it when it was above 40 . . .which caused a couple delays. The price was very reasonable on installation. What is also nice is that they went through the extra motion to make sure everything worked on the tech they installed for me. Made sure my phone connected, made sure radio was working, made sure steering wheel controls connected. Definitely more than what our friends at Best Buy would have done. The Range Rover 2010 Full Size has a unique amp/audio system. It's based on the Harman Kardon Logic 7 system and there are like 1-2 companies that even offer a wiring harness for this vehicle. Our aftermarket stereo wasn't doing what had been promised, but we'd had it installed 1000 miles from here and had been trying to wait until we got back to have it fixed. Finally, on Wednesday when my phone died because the stereo wouldn't support the charging unit any longer, I came to Yelp for help. But, who answers their business phone at 4:30 midweek? Eddy does!! Not only does he answer, he says if I'll come over to his house, he'll see what he can do. Because he's 10 minutes away, that sounds perfect to me! And, he thinks it may be a fuse, so there won't be any charge. After about 30 minutes Eddy identified the problem (not a fuse at all), searches his truck for the proper replacement piece, replaces the broken part so it's now working properly, and tells me the part is $20. So I took my 2017 MB Sprinter RV to Best Buy to swap the factory radio to a state of the art Kenwood. They had it all day and when I picked it up they said they couldn't connect the steering wheel controls. I said ok and left. Three days later a dead battery. Bought a new battery and found Best Buy wired the new unit wrong. Took it back and they said they couldn't wire it to allow the unit to turn off and on with the ignition. Thus each tine the vehicle was turned off all memory and settings were lost. Contacted Eddie who said he understood the problem and would work on it. I had the install done with Ground Gear to get the Rockford Fosgate setup. Amp, fairing speakers and 6 x 9's. I thought all was on the up and up with the install. I go to add to the system and come to find out I was given a $50 non water proof clarion amp, with $600 speakers. This dude didn't even screw the amp down it was sitting on top of my headlight unit. I contacted Eddie the owner of Ground Gear Performance with a basic installation of a radio in a VW Jetta. Eddie said he could do the installation but after about 2 hours he said the unit was bad (I know otherwise because Cartoys could power the unit up but had difficulty in the pinout/harness). I asked Eddie to take the radio home and look on-line for help in getting it installed. The next day Eddie said I'll get the radio back to you today, he didn't. The following day I asked Eddie when he will be down to drop off the radio, he said around 9am. At 11:00am I had to call him checking where he was, "man I totally forgot". When I received the $750 factory VW radio it had nicks, dings and scratches on the faceplate. When I contacted Eddie he said I have no idea, it was in my truck.
