Omg never a disappointment here. The food is off the chart great. You would never expect their food to be this great. Yes is pizza; flat bread and wings kind of food. But I swear to you is the bomb. Their pizza has so many pepperonis that you can make a second pizza with it lol. The prices are so low it's incredible. The place is very clean and staff is the best. Perfect for families; friends; or work events.

Friendly & polite staff, had a flat tire and needed to use the restroom no questions asked when I went in to only use the restroom.

We sat at the bar and specifically came by for their tacos. How can you go wrong when they have them at 2 for $5!!! And yes all delicious; packed to the rim and all the fixings plus sour cream on the side. We got plenty. We got happy Amanda B, The bartender was there. She is always so nice and pleasant. She knows her stuff and no matter how packed the place was, always comes by to check on you. The place was packed to my surprise. When my friend left we noticed she charged him for all 4 shots. I was going to say something then but he said its ok he will pay for it. Left me his receipt just in case she charged me for them too. Which as we both felt was going to happen. Sure as the sky is blue she charged me for 3 drinks instead of 1. I showed her and she immediately got defensive call some lady that was worse cursed me out on the phone. I finally said whatever I will dispute the charge as I did not sign the slip. So if it is signed she then forged my signature. I ordered my uber and went to the bathroom. Then one of her friends came in and tried to talk to me. I told her friend that I am not in the business of having a convo with some random lady while sitting on the toilet. That pissed her off and then pissed the bartender of so much she called the police. I was leaving anyway. I waited for my Uber and left. Below is a picture of the bartender. They brought out complimentary popcorn which was delicious. Service was good. I felt a little bad for our waitress because she seemed a little stressed with a larger group but she did a great job. Wish the broth had a little more flavor. The food did take a decent amount of time to come out about 45 minutes. Overall nice they were able to accommodate all of us.

The bartender didnt seem to care, its as if I was the bother spending over $100 at a spot with a 45+ min wait just eating stale popcorn and waiting just for water. Placed order immediately upon sitting. When we were fed up ready to leave, the rude server runs out to hand us the bags to go. LOL. She knew how bad she was serving us. This spot is NOT a recommendation. Service terrible, food is bland. Stake popcorn. Extremely rude service.

Gatehouse Tavern [GT]. (2 stars)…read more "Stuffed clams (or stuffies) are popular in New England and consist of a breadcrumb and minced clam mixture that is baked on the half shell of a quahog hard shell clam.[1][2][3][4] Other ingredients typically found in the basic breadcrumb mixture are: meat such as sausage, bacon or chouriço (Portuguese sausage), chili pepper, lemon juice, bell peppers, celery, onion, garlic, spices and herbs. There are many different recipes for stuffed clams; many restaurants in New England have their own variety, as do many home cooks." - Wikipedia "Stuffies - $2.50" The sign caught my eye. I asked myself, "Self, what the heck are stuffies?!" I walked up to the cashier and asked her. She said it's a stuffed clam. Ahhh... In all the years I have been up to New England I never heard of "stuffies" before. Perhaps it could be in part to the fact that I usually frequent seafood restaurants vice watering holes when I am here... As I perused the menu I also saw a pastrami sandwich so I decided to eat here. I ordered the following: -Stuffies -Pastrami Sandwich Stuffies. (1.5 stars). Somehow I imagined this stuffed clam to have some texture & seasoning but not an overkill of salt & onions??!! The stuffing was extremely mushy & unpleasant to eat. I took one bite & didn't finish the rest of it. There were a few minuscule pieces of clam meat chopped up in the stuffing mixture but it was tough to even discern any real clam flavor. I'm sure the locals probably go crazy over GT's stuffies but I just am not a fan... Pastrami (Reuben) Sandwich. (2.5 stars). GT's pastrami sandwich is different from most places I have eaten at because they cook their pastrami slices on a flat top grill. The pastrami had a nice seasoning but some of the sides were a little too burnt for my liking. Instead of the usual 1000 island (yuck) I requested spicy brown mustard & while it was a bit messy to eat, definitely hit the spot on a cold day. The sauerkraut was nice & crunchy which I appreciated. The "rye" bread was quite soft & fell apart before I could take a bite into the sandwich. The rye bread tasted like sourdough bread... --- All in all, GT is a quaint little water hole that is located right across the street from EB (Electric Boat). In its heyday, GT & Elfie's used to be THE places to go for EB employees during lunch. Most of the other establishments in this area (including Elfie's) is now closed due to the fact that EB now has a "cafeteria" on their premise. The owner/bartender is extremely friendly & social which made me feel at ease. Parking is wherever u find it. Street parking is about 1 block away in the residential area. But the good thing is, if u find a stall, it's free!

We were greeted not only by perplexed stares from current patrons and staff, but the blasting air conditioning as well. Looking around, you would think this location had just opened because almost all the tables were ready to be sat at. The same three waitresses passed us by, tending to other tables and just looking at us instead of finding someone to seat us. We waited at least fifteen minutes, standing by the freezing doorway, when at last, one of the waitresses (not the host/hostess) said, "I'll be with you soon." When she came back, she alerted us that there would be an additional ten minute wait for one of the clearly empty tables. We were beyond flabbergasted and we chose to save ourselves from spending money at a mid establishment. I would understand if the excuse for the service, or lack thereof, was being understaffed. But, we saw that extra staff were walking around towards the back of the restaurant the whole time we waited to be seated. Also, a simple "We are so sorry for the wait, we were busy" would have sufficed. But no, not a single apology was uttered for the ignorance these waiters showed us. I would give zero stars if I could, but I gave one star because they did the bare minimum and spoke to us. Do better ghetto Chili's.

We were her only table for at least 40 mins and yet my friend had to help her with her job like she was overworked, and my friend had to asked multiple times for a booster seat and she still didn't get it. Again, my other friend who basically stole her job at this point got it. Completely forgot to take my order too, had to literally ask her to come back after realizing she genuinely wasn't coming back to finish our orders. And then my friend had to help serve the food to us. Yet when the older white couple came in after us she was all of a sudden had a pep in her step. I find it odd the the couple before and after us had great treatment yet my friends and I had to basically wave her down and just do her job at some point in order to get service. And yet the bartender had a full bar and she was doing just fine. I was thinking maybe she as new and we were a big group, but even new people shouldn't have that hard of a time considering you only had ONE TABLE FOR ALMOST AN HOUR. I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything but I find it quite odd that me and my group, who were the only minorities there, were the only ones treated terribly and everyone else was had a fine time. I mean I don't know how else to think. The food was good though, shout to the chef, thank you for at least saving the last bit of the evening. I wish the gratuity tax went to you. And to the horrible server, I hope you like the 42 cents I gave as a tip, I gave you just as much as you gave us.
