    a drink on the bar
    Iva S.

Wings were good... but... ok one drink was ok but the other, The bartender didn't know how to make a skinny margarita.... We tried to drink it but it was like pure sugar syrup. When someone says skinny margarita it should not have sugary anything in it. Many people that order skinny margaritas cant have sugar. I guess training needs to occur on this, if the manager would be willing to do so. If the bartender doesn't have the ingredients, it is ok to say, " Unfortunately we are unable to make that particular drink at this time." And maybe suggest a different drink they do have the ingredients make that meets the no sugar requirement . Bartender did not recognize that we did nit drink the drink either, which was odd. Would not recommend..... at this time.

This is at the edge of the mall in Groton, so there is plenty of parking spots outside the mall. Inside, it is HUGE, and there are plenty of TVs to choose from to watch sports games. The waitress was very sweet. My friend and I went here on a Tuesday, which they have a BOGO offer for traditional wings. So we got two 15-wing deal and asked to split into 3 flavors with 10 wings each. We got one hotter on the scale (Thai Curry), one medium on the scale (Buffalo), and one mild on the scale (Garlic Parmesan). It was a perfect balance. The pickled fries were okay, but the aioli that came with it was very good.

Here with the family. Yes hit the Bkue Hawaiian drinks. Very good. I also got the naked chicken fingers with fries my daughter got tatie tots snd sweet bbq wings. The food is good tv's a little loud. We didn't want to wait the hour and half for a table so we chose to sit in the bar area. The food is very good we are all enjoying our meals I would show more photos but still learning how to do it with this phone. This is my first time here. I will be back. Service is good food is good what more could you want.

$64 for 3 of us (2 adults 1 preteen) we had 3 alcoholic beverages and one soda. Entering the restaurant is a bit odd. There's no podium to wait at. You're basically in the front of the dining area. There's no sign to tell you to wait. Finally the hostess came and sat us. It took a while for a server to acknowledge us. But once she took our orders she came back many times to check on us and refill drinks. Very good service. We took advantage of the Tuesday wings deal which is buy one get one 50% off. Wings came out instantly. After ordering , hubby and son went to wash their hands and the wings came out when they got back to the table. The sandwich on the other hand took about 15 minutes. Normally I would have liked if all the food came out at once. But the good thing is that wings don't need to be piping hot. Especially if you have a really hot sauce on them. Hubby got the (10 piece) mango habanero. It's nice and spicy. The spice is mostly on the tongue. I got the (10 piece) Thai curry. It was so delicious. The heat hits you in the the back of the throat. My family is from Trinidad and we eat curry chicken wings all of the time and this brought me back to my childhood. I didn't think it was as Thai tasting as it was West Indian tasting. We also got potato wedges. Those were perfectly crispy and seasoned. Son's saucy chicken sandwich was covered in the jalapeño sauce. A bit too spicy for him (and he's a true heat seeker) so he ate half and saved half for right before bed. The fries were nice and crisp but really salty. This was our first visit here and at the end- one of the workers came out screaming-CAN I HAVE EVERYONES ATTENTION!!!!!!!! She was screaming at the top of her lungs to wish someone a happy birthday which everyone in the restaurant joined in. We all thought it was hilarious. And then my son told me what he initially thought it was. Mind you there was just a school shooting in Nashville and my son has been practicing active shooter drills he thought she was announcing a bomb or something. And I get where he's coming from. It could be triggering. So I just wanted to warn anyone who might have some ptsd.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is pretty empty and our server is named Mylinda. I ordered the boneless snack with spicy garlic and my boyfriend got the boneless small with spicy garlic and Blazin'. The spicy garlic tasted like it was buffalo sauce with a hint of garlic powder. It was really hard to tell the garlic flavor. The chicken also seemed like it was microwaved. The blazin' sauce was too spicy for me, but my boyfriend said it was pretty good. I got the fries with a Chipotle BBQ dry rub. Very delicious. Fries are just average but the dry rub gives you an amazing flavor. Overall, I would come here again only if it's convenient but I won't go out of my way to come here.

When my friend left we noticed she charged him for all 4 shots. I was going to say something then but he said its ok he will pay for it. Left me his receipt just in case she charged me for them too. Which as we both felt was going to happen. Sure as the sky is blue she charged me for 3 drinks instead of 1. I showed her and she immediately got defensive call some lady that was worse cursed me out on the phone. I finally said whatever I will dispute the charge as I did not sign the slip. So if it is signed she then forged my signature. I ordered my uber and went to the bathroom. Then one of her friends came in and tried to talk to me. I told her friend that I am not in the business of having a convo with some random lady while sitting on the toilet. That pissed her off and then pissed the bartender of so much she called the police. I was leaving anyway. I waited for my Uber and left. Below is a picture of the bartender. Family-Friendly Atmosphere * The lively, casual vibe makes it a great spot to bring kids. * Staff were welcoming and attentive, keeping the energy upbeat without feeling overwhelming. * The décor leans into the Western theme, which adds a playful touch for younger diners. The Famous Buns * The complimentary rolls with cinnamon butter are always a highlight. * Fresh, warm, and consistently delicious--they set the tone for the meal and never disappoint. Steak & Ribs Selection * The menu offers a plentiful variety of cuts and rib options, giving diners flexibility depending on appetite and budget. * Steaks were cooked close to the requested temperature, with a nice char from the grill. * Ribs were tender and flavorful, though a touch more smokiness could elevate them further. Other Notes * Portion sizes are generous, making it easy to share or take leftovers home. * Sides are hearty and classic, though not particularly adventurous--mashed potatoes, fries, and salads are reliable but standard. * Noise level can get high during peak hours, so families with younger kids may want to plan for an earlier dinner. Overall Impression Texas Roadhouse is a solid choice for a casual night out, especially for families. The buns remain the star of the show, while the wide steak and rib selection ensures everyone finds something satisfying. It's not fine dining, but it doesn't try to be--it's approachable, fun, and dependable. Cheers

Gatehouse Tavern [GT]. (2 stars)…read more "Stuffed clams (or stuffies) are popular in New England and consist of a breadcrumb and minced clam mixture that is baked on the half shell of a quahog hard shell clam.[1][2][3][4] Other ingredients typically found in the basic breadcrumb mixture are: meat such as sausage, bacon or chouriço (Portuguese sausage), chili pepper, lemon juice, bell peppers, celery, onion, garlic, spices and herbs. There are many different recipes for stuffed clams; many restaurants in New England have their own variety, as do many home cooks." - Wikipedia "Stuffies - $2.50" The sign caught my eye. I asked myself, "Self, what the heck are stuffies?!" I walked up to the cashier and asked her. She said it's a stuffed clam. Ahhh... In all the years I have been up to New England I never heard of "stuffies" before. Perhaps it could be in part to the fact that I usually frequent seafood restaurants vice watering holes when I am here... As I perused the menu I also saw a pastrami sandwich so I decided to eat here. I ordered the following: -Stuffies -Pastrami Sandwich Stuffies. (1.5 stars). Somehow I imagined this stuffed clam to have some texture & seasoning but not an overkill of salt & onions??!! The stuffing was extremely mushy & unpleasant to eat. I took one bite & didn't finish the rest of it. There were a few minuscule pieces of clam meat chopped up in the stuffing mixture but it was tough to even discern any real clam flavor. I'm sure the locals probably go crazy over GT's stuffies but I just am not a fan... Pastrami (Reuben) Sandwich. (2.5 stars). GT's pastrami sandwich is different from most places I have eaten at because they cook their pastrami slices on a flat top grill. The pastrami had a nice seasoning but some of the sides were a little too burnt for my liking. Instead of the usual 1000 island (yuck) I requested spicy brown mustard & while it was a bit messy to eat, definitely hit the spot on a cold day. The sauerkraut was nice & crunchy which I appreciated. The "rye" bread was quite soft & fell apart before I could take a bite into the sandwich. The rye bread tasted like sourdough bread... --- All in all, GT is a quaint little water hole that is located right across the street from EB (Electric Boat). In its heyday, GT & Elfie's used to be THE places to go for EB employees during lunch. Most of the other establishments in this area (including Elfie's) is now closed due to the fact that EB now has a "cafeteria" on their premise. The owner/bartender is extremely friendly & social which made me feel at ease. Parking is wherever u find it. Street parking is about 1 block away in the residential area. But the good thing is, if u find a stall, it's free!
