He is professionally way above the norm, worthy of high praise both as a skilled and knowledgeable doctor and as a kind and caring person. I probably am THAT patient that some doctors get irritated with, because I went in with a list of items that we needed to chat about or get referrals for. And as we talked, he made a mental note of each one. He fully addressed each and every thing I wanted to discuss and then moved onto the next. For me, this appointment crossed a TON off my to-do list as it was so productive. I think we can all agree that we've walked out of a doctor's office and said "oh shoot, he didn't tell me about ____". With Dr. Whitney, you'll never have to worry about that. After the fact, Dr. Whitney personally followed up with me, and advised me he'd submitted my referrals and I should be hearing back soon. I've never had such personable attention from any Doctor's office let alone one Doctor specifically!

I went on the fepblue website which was printed on my insurance card and VCC was an option. When I called I explained he was insured through fep blue (bluecross/blueshield) The lady on the phone kept asking if he had a VCC card I said no I'm trying to enroll him. I then explained how I got the enrollment number and how VCC was an approved clinic. She then said I understand does he have a VCC card again I said no and she repeated then I have to look him up very kurtly then proceeded to ask about medi-cal and medi-care after I told her he has fepblue as if everything I said was a waste of time. I told her I'd find a different clinic and ended up going with truecare who easily enrolled my son and they were very courteous and professional. I do not recommend VCC if you have other clinic options. They only ask you about medi-cal or medi-care and won't listen if you tell them VCC accepts more than medi-cal or medi-care. I can only imagine how bad they talk to their patients.

I have never felt like he didn't respond, wasn't thorough or hadn't covered everything he and I intended for a given appointment. After scores of Doctors in LA, multiple surgeries and no end in sight to my dilemma, Dr. Lawrence didn't get all full of his own ego and promise the world; rather he said he hoped to be able to resolve my pain and promised he'd make me healthier. And that is the key, it is about health not sickness. It is about t-h-r-i-v-i-n-g, not just getting by. I write with certainty that I would not feel as good as I do as I write this, had I not joined the Revive practice. I recommend you do what you have to do and go through all the specialists your own doctors send you to, but when you are fed up with being treated because you are sick, go get healthy with Dr. Lawrence. Health is a great starting point!

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others…read more I was referred by a friend who also invited me to a cosmetic event that was scheduled for later in the month. I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for cosmetic procedures where experience, technique, and ethical standards are essential.

Unusual layout of building was more than offset when several associates asked me how they could help, always pointing me in the right directions. On their own initiative. Dr. Braunstein gave steroid injection into painful toe joint, the pain of which has vanished 24 hours later. Great overview of what was going on and related issues. I saw none of the attitudes, etc. described in older reviews about the place generally and Orthopedics specifically. I experienced auto problems (see below) and was not scolded for being late or upsetting scheduling. Which the Torry Pines facility sometimes did. The problem is its entrance. A single lane in each direction. Not prominently enough identified by signage on the main roadways. Needs many more "H" blue signs with arrows strategically placed a distance away. And it feeds directly off a shopping center entrance which I had never seen before for a hospital. Needs a traffic light, if the shopping center entry further down the feeding road has a traffic light, then more so a hospital should. (Single entry/exit; what if there were a fire?) Entry via the parking structure was forbidden by staff only signage. If you have not been there before, even if you had been a long while ago as I once was, you are going to likely miss one or more turns. Spent 20 minutes being diverted into various roads including those that would all but force cars onto the freeway, trying to turn around to get to the single-entrance place. SUMMARY: Nice place, quality assistance and care, when you make it. Minus one star for learning curve for driving in!
