Ah, I still remember this ultimate creepoid of a man from 2014. I was in the midst of a severe, dissociative, suicidal depression, and needed to see someone urgently. He showed availability on zocdoc, so I booked an appointment. Making it to the appointment was difficult, obviously, as I was suffering from severe depression and executive dysfunction. I just needed to get back on the ssri I had been taking previously. Should have been an easy visit. I arrived 3 minutes after our appointment time, which is typical of me, as I have always struggled with being on time, and being depressed only makes this so much worse. However, I would have never expected such passive aggression and guilt tripping to occur from a medical professional in the mental health field, who is supposed to be an expert on mental health. He began the visit by immediately stating that he thought I wasn't coming, and that he'd already told another client they could come take my spot. I brushed it off, as I was truly very depressed, guilt-ridden, and willing to take the blame in the state I was in. He prescribed me a new medication I'd never tried, which ended up causing me an allergic reaction. This is completely besides the point I am trying to make. On our second appointment, completely unprompted and for no reason whatsoever, he decided to randomly ask me, "Do you masturbate?" I was a young, shy, 20-something at the time, and was simply taken aback by this question. What on Earth could have been his reason for asking this? "Uh...I guess, sometimes?" I managed to muster the courage to say. "Oh, because a lot of medications have sexual side effects," he explained. Still, the question didn't sit right with me. Couldn't he have just asked whether I experience sexual side effects or reduced libido with some medications? Finally, on our third visit, he decided to guilt me some more about being 3 minutes late (literally the best I could do in my current state). "Well, I mean, if you found out you won the lottery but you had to make it to the bank by 5pm to claim it, you would make it on time, wouldn't you?" I stared blankly at him. I decided not to continue seeing him after that. He never ended up prescribing me the medication that had worked for me before, that I had stopped taking recently and led to my recurrent psychological symptoms. Instead, he worsened my depressive symptoms with his not just insensitive, but narcissistic behavior. And yes, I can say with certainty that this man is a narcissist. I have known his kind before. How do you think I became mentally ill? I am now an expert in his condition, and I can spot it from a mile away. I am writing this 11 years later to say, do not trust this man wit read more
