By some miracle, I found Dr. Mirow. He worked with me for a year, trying every type and combination of medication. He never gave up; remained kind, supportive, understanding and encouraging the whole time. He at last came up with a combination of medications that worked -- I have remained on this regime for over ten years, with minor tweaks here and there. I have not suffered from any serious bouts of depression since then. This man is a hero! He is professional, knowledgeable, and informative. Why schedule patients at a certain time when you can't show up before the patients get there? I Was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 11 and was upfront about it in my first visit. 2 years later he was confused when I was asking to go on a stimulant because he didn't know I had ADHD. I've had doctors that let me go a year without a visit and only come in if I felt like I needed to. I was forced to come in every 3 months or I couldn't get my prescription refilled but it became very unpredictable to get an accurate appointment because he was constantly, constantly late, and I couldn't take 3 hours off of work to drive there, then sit there for over an hour. I'm grateful I have better insurance now so I don't have to go back.

From there we have had two face-to-face appointments, one FaceTime emergency call, and countless text messaging interactions. We have gone through a gambit of medications (I think five), before finding one that works (I'm on month four now of this med! Yay!). She is very accessible, caring, diligent. In response to other reviews, please keep in mind (readers) that interpersonal communication varies between individuals. That, and while not trying to negate feelings or experiences, some mental health diagnoses come with paranoia (or just a feeling of un-trust). I can speak from experience that on my first appointment I wanted to scream, run out of the room, etc. but NONE of it was BECAUSE of Dr. Reed--however, I did have to fight the urge to direct it at her. I won the battle that day, thankfully. Please take reviews about mental health care with a grain of salt. Anything worth doing is worth doing right and if you care about your mental health to the fullest (and understand the impact it has on others') then you'll be understanding of the possible wait times. Expect 1-3hrs for a thorough appointment (or delay).

Although the institute is not cheap, its many caregivers provide thorough assistance in all aspects of rebuilding a troubled life. Treating mental health is a daunting task, nothing is clear cut and many maladies are impervious to the best care. Nevertheless, Crownview has been wonderful for us so far. The client gets priority at CCI, and family dialogue with caregivers could be better. Nevertheless we feel lucky to have found Crownview. It deserves five stars.

He listens to concerns of both parents and children. One drawback, Dr. Murphy has a very long waiting list. Once I called it took almost 8 months to get in to see him. They do offer a wait list. Hopefully this will serve as a warning about this mans true nature and his lack of real caring and sensitivity for his patients. Before I begin,, i need to say that none of what im about here to say is a criticism of his form of scientific psychiatry which I fully endorse nor amino therapy which i also support. I truly believe in the natural way of curing depression. Let me begin... I had actually found out about this psychiatrist on YouTube and learned about his using amino therapy to treat depression. I was excited to find someone potentially able to help my wife with her chronic depression as I didnt want her having to be on meds. Well at the time we couldn't afford his sessions nor all the testing for my wife because he didnt accept our insurance. This was frustrating. A few years later I had some money from a 401k that i was able to pull and use to pay for full on treatments for her. I sought out Dr Gersten again. My wife started having over the phone sessions and getting all the testing done. She then started on the regime he prescribed. It was around this time that things really turned for the worst. Please keep in mind my wife is a very sensitive person and her mental fragility. I being somewhat versed in amino therapy (although not a doctor) had a few specific questions for Dr. Gersten related to his analysis of one of her test results and so my wife innocently included my questions in her email to Dr Gersten. When he saw the email he became exceedingly angry realizing these weren't my wifes questions. In the phone call session that proceeded he reprimanded my wife verbally telling her that she was deceitful. He said he was not going to treat her anymore! That she broke the trust. This horrified my wife and she was literally in tears on the phone while this man belittled her. What psychiatrist would do that to his patient that he knows is mentally fragile ? My wife truly did not know she did anything wrong by including my questions in her email. Needless to say we are glad we are not working with Dr. David Gersten he is not at all a sensitive person and scarred my wife mentally over what was an innocent email mistake. He showed his true colors that his ego and anger is more important than sensitivity to his psychiatric patients.
