The therapist says 'you really want to go into the military under Trump?!' What kind of therapist says this to a child? How is this even relevant to his therapy? We talked for an hour at the first appointment with my young adult daughter. He was concerned about the current mix of medications that the last psychiatrist prescribed and how it was not appropriate for my daughter's symptoms. He recommended a new medication and a new course of action and a slow, deliberate decrease of one medication. I appreciate his attention to detail while we titrate off the 'bad' medication. He is methodical and wants to take time to get her off this medication so the side effects of a withdrawal are minimal or non-existent. Dr. Matalon clearly knows autism and did not presume that I was ignorant about my daughter's condition. I would recommend him to other families who are trying to relieve their child's anxiety.
