Delicious pizza! And most importantly, my picky 2 year old child ate it all. Would definitely recommend

Trattoria Pulcinella is near the centre of Madrid but provides one of the best italian experiences…read morewe have had outside Italy. The location is heavily decorated (maybe too much?) with Italian themed art decor and other items. The interior of the restaurant has lots of tables but they are separated into smaller segments for better privacy and less noise. Service was top notch - prompt, friendly and flexible as we fitted in our toddler into the table too. Food was fresh and came rapidly. The menu is broad. There is a wide range of dishes, including many kinds of pasta and a broad range of Neopolitan style pizzas with a delicious thin crust. The actual food quality was uniformly great. All our dishes were delicious. My pizza was great. One of my wife's all-time favourite Italian dishes (Provola alla Pizzaiola - aka Cheese Soup) was available here. It is the first time we have found it outside Italy, and it was just as good as she remembered. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. We ended up here because I'd done advance planning and this was the Italian place I thought would be best, and neither of us were disappointed.

The hostess was kind enough to have us wait only 5 minutes and then place us in a table for two with an added chair to accommodate us. The service was very friendly. We received bread and olives on the house as we sat down. We ordered the pasta with salmon and vodka sauce so yummy, the lasagna and the tortelloni pasta filled with pumpkin. All the dishes were very good and we also ordered a bottle of wine. At the end for dessert we ordered a tiramisu and a cheesecake which were so so creamy and delicious. Once again at the end they gave us some limoncello on the house. Overall a very nice dining experience we will definitely be back!

Excellent service and an English menu. Kitchen open 'all day' they say. Plus the waitress was a…read moreBLAST to talk to! This is an all day cafe right on the street. They have mainly Italian dishes, and they have tables right on the sidewalk as well as inside. They usually a wait, as this is the place to have a cocktail, some dinner, relax, and catch up,with friends and family. They do NOT rush you here, and you will be tempted to sit and have a glass of wine and people watch on the street. After a 10 minute wait at the bar, my table on the street was ready. The waitress was fun, and she and I had quite a banter going! . I ordered some wine, an appetizer salad and a pizza, and sat back and relaxed. What a great spot to relax...the chairs even let you lean back! The food was hot and fresh, and they waited until I was well done with my salad before the pizza came. Well done! I had some wine, and watched the world go by after dinner...no rush..no fuss...and when I asked for the check, it came promptly. What a relaxing spot...but get here before 8pm for dinner, it will fill up!

Came here last year on my first visit to Madrid as it was just around the corner from the hotel…read morewhere I stayed. Well, last year they had this amazing Avocado Toast topped with poached eggs. It was fantastic and I came back this year on my latest visit to see if they still had it. Nope. I instead ordered Avocado Toast with the poached egg on top as a-la-carte. Well ... what came back to me this time was indeed a large flat piece of toast with a pile of smashed avocado on one side and a poached egg solo on the right side. Huh?? Didn't know there was gonna be THAT big of a change in the menu. Alas, if I ever find myself here again, I'm going to order things directly off the menu instead of trying to improvise like I did this time. :-/
