Every payday I go to the store they have new in different things all the time. Sometimes I can find things there that I can't find anywhere else. They have a wonderful variety and they have a great variety of animal foods and different things for cats and dogs. I was truly impressed. I also was impressed by their milk and dairy section. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in grocery outlet on Everett Mall Way. I shop here often ever since they first opened this location. Today I found something that I really wanted, but could not find a date on it. I checked several packages no date on any of them. I took the package to the clerk who told me that they put the date on the stuff when I questioned that I was told that they put it in the freezer and when they take it out of the freezer they put a date on it. There was another worker standing with him and I said really? " It's my understanding that grocery outlet buy things that are close to the sale by date" there was another worker standing with him a . the girl said, " no that's not how it works." I said , " yes it is almost everything in the store is close to it sell date if not on the sale date". The guy explained to her that yes that is kind of how it works, but continue to tell me that they put the dates on the stuff. And he called somebody and they decided that the chicken flautas sale date would be 60 days past yesterday and I said it's chicken. It's not good for 60 days sitting in the refrigerator is it ? I decided not to buy them and told the guy I was concerned I would get sick. Things went downhill from there. I was not rude. I have every right to not wanna buy something and be concerned. I know what it's like to have food poisoning. when I got to the register to check out I was second from the last person in line. The guy told the lady in front of me that she would be the last person he was closing that cash register down. Something I believe he did on purpose because I was next. The lines were long. I had to look for a new line, they opened a new line and instead of taking me they took people from another line purposely. I was being treated unfairly when I finally checked out 20 minutes later, the guy was not friendly with me like he was with everybody else, and I noticed that he didn't say merry Christmas to me like he said to everybody else and I quietly said to him " hey, I have every right to not buy something if I'm concerned". and he said have a nice day ma'am. I am so disappointed in the way I was treated today as a customer and I will never come back here again. it ruined my whole mood and it's Christmas eve. I do not think that I'm in the wrong. I think I have every right to question the freshness of the chicken and how long it will last. I don't know how long it's been in the package.. the correct thing for him to say was yes ma'am you do have every right. I'm sorry you feel that way about it. I assure you it's fresh.( even though it was not it was already able to begin with you could tell by the flour tortillas.) EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED I can't believe it. This was my go to store. I will never go back. I will drive all the way to Seattle. If I have to they just lost a customer that spent quite a bit of money here and my mom&sister.13 family member have said they will not be coming back to that store. I just wanna stress that even if that's the way they do things by putting the date on it. That wasn't the problem. Prices were good but each store is different as far as selection. The availability of some products is not always the same.

Prices are much higher now compared to other grocery stores. I still come every couple weeks to scout a bargain. Today an item was priced, with a price tag, correct item, and the price came up double at the register. I caught it and brought the difference to the cashier's attention. We got the tag and confirmed the price. Manager was called and she said the price had gone up and I could only have 2 at the displayed price, I had 8 in my order. I have never had a store anywhere, including here, not honor the listed price. This wasn't a case of wrong tag, or wrong item, it was the price has gone up and I won't honor the price tag. So, not sure if I will come back. The owner of this store would never have done this. I used to see him all the time when they were down the street, not so much anymore. Too bad. Very bad customer service. Winco is closer and cheaper for me. read more

I'm a long time lover of the Grocery Outlet. This location is one I don't visit very frequently but it's layout is very reminiscent of my favorite Lynnwood location which just relocated. It has an open feel which some other Grocery Outlets are missing. It's not a fancy new building, but for me that aids to the thrill of finding great deals. I always save so much money when I shop here and I love their policy of telling you exactly how much you saved, it always makes me feel extra smart. You can find great stuff here and it's usually a lot less crowded than other small grocery stores. It's a great place to stock up on frozen foods, but also has fresh veggies, tons of non food stuff and best of all is a hidden gem for vegan products. The alcohol section is also really large. Sadly though if you find a favorite product that you absolutely love you may not ever be able to find it again, which is why I always go back and stock up after I try something. They do tend to always have some of the same products. I do tend to check expiration dates, but if you're not worried about this you can find even cheaper deals. Plenty of easy parking right out front. Everyone is always friendly. My main complaint is that bathrooms have been unavailable with covid and you have to pay for bags. read more

My issue is , on the day I went to go grocery shopping in order to get the 10% discount, my foodstamp did not get accepted, I got A error .message saying I was over my limit. Confused as I had checked my card b4 I left home, so checked again in front of the cashier . Again I tried to buy my groceries again my food stamp card was declined. I had tears in my eyes as I realized with embarrassed and humilitiation I wasn't going to get my groceries . I recognized it was groceries outlets system that was off not me, I was sad because that little 10% break seniors get from grocery outlet on top of their already discount prices , well it's pretty amazing . I requested a rain check so could come back the next day in order to get my groceries at a discount. Managment could not oblige me. I know it wasn't in his nor mine what happened ,but I was the loser! He explained there was nothing could do ,and eventhough he didn't know the cause for my foodstamp card was declined he was told by the cashier she saw the balance on my card. The money was there! Nonetheless he could not accommodate me by giving me a raincheck. Grocery outlet makes it a point to advertise the 10% discount for seniors on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. It means a lot to me and makes a difference for me. Therefore Grocery outlet should have there system set up in order to assure the customer they are able to take advantage of that awsome provision. There are always circumstances that can cause a individuale to miss out not due to either sides fault , that would fall under special circumstances. Later that day after my foodstamp card was declined I went to Fredmyers and it worked. I ended up paying so much more at Fredmyers than I would have paid at Grocery outlet. The Good: Always can find great prices on GREAT produce and an array of products. This place really is a hidden gem. From fixings for a salad, to box/frozen goods such as cereal, pasta, pizza, etc. (All standard grocery store options), you'll find it here. Most prices are around 50% cheaper than your normal grocery stores such as Fred Meyer or Safeway (even though the same product!). They also have a nice selection of high-end pet food items (Blue Buffalo) and a great liquor and wine selection as well! They also have a decent selection on gardening equipment for any green thumbs out there! The Bad: Not a lot of organic or natural food items. Many times (even pre-pandemic), they always seem to not have enough cashier stations open causing large lines. read more

I had stopped coming here due to the rudeness of the previous owners. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this store has been sold to a fantastic couple that are working hard to make this a great place. Very friendly, superior customer service.Great prices and food. There are rodent problems everywhere in the PNW, I have never seen any here just the means to keep them controlled. Regarding the backpack and large purse issue, they are not in the safest area of Everett , the owners are just trying to prevent theft, the people that steal are often the ones you would least expect. Place is getting better and better after the new owners took over the place. They are getting more and more healthy / organic varieties. Produce still lacks a bit but everything else just keeps getting better. They expanded the shelves in their cold foods and even expanded their Health and Beauty aisle. Everything in the store is estimated to be about $3-$7 below the prices of Safeway, Fred Meyers, or QFC. Compared to WinCo, half of the items are about $2 cheaper or $1 more expensive so its a almost even but WinCo has more products to choose from and is bigger. They do have a no-pet policy so be aware they only allow service animals. And do keep in mind they allow backbacks but you have to leave them at the front safely behind the counter which is understandable considering the area. And all these people saying they had to leave their "purse" at the front are just plain ignorant. There are 3 signs at the door that say "Leave backpacks and/or other shopping bags at the front" They do not ask or bother you if you have a normal looking purse or handbag. Some of the staff (not all) can be rude or come off bold at first but if you're a local you know they might be on edge considering the people that walk around in the area (you know the thief-like / whacked out and/or tweaker kind). And keep in mind if they seem upset asking for your backback, its probably because you walked by 3 different signs that said to leave it at the front registers. If you have enough common sense you probably won't have a problem with the staff at all. read more

This place sometimes has good deals--like when another store sells Grocery Outlet items that are near their expiration and they sit here until the day of expiration, at which point Grocery Outlet cuts the price significantly. Makes sense, though also means these great deals are not regularly stocked--and are about to expire. Beyond those items, the rest of the regular things in stock are not great deals and are often lower quality than other mainstream stores, such as Fred Meyer or Trader Joe's, and usually even lower quality than Winco. In terms of quality, think Dollar Store food. Because of this, I was only shopping here if I happened to pass it on my way to TJ's or elsewhere. But, I won't stop anymore because they have horrible customer service. In short, the management is rude if you ask any questions. The young cashiers are just fine and friendly. But, the staff in charge of those cashiers? Horrible. Plus, they tend to congregate in the front of the store doing nothing when the store could use some better organization or cleaning (get rid of slimy produce!) or a customer needs to be pointed in the right direction. Bottom line: Saving $2 here and there isn't worth supporting a place with bad customer service. Plus, there are examples of good discount stores, such as Aldi back east or abroad, so let your lack of patronage destroy this franchise and allow a better one in. read more

Humiliating experience. Visited for cheap lunch ingredients and broccoli for dinner. I was chased down after entering and told I had to surrender my backpack at the entrance. I asked if it would be watched as that was where I had my wallet and the employee sneered at me and told me that no one was going to touch my things. On top of this, the only broccoli available was slimy or showing mold spots. I understand stores must take measures for assets protection but this was beyond anything I've ever encountered. THIS EVERETT LOCATION HAS LOST OUR BUSINESS AFTER 10 YEARS DUE TO ITS SUBJECTIVE SECURITY PRACTICES AND RODENT PROBLEM. We have been going here for years spent thousands and thousands of dollars; however, this place is on the decline. In the past year my spouse has been subjected to surrender her purse (and keep it up at the front) because it is a little larger purse. No security protocols in place to protect the contents of items so that the business can protect its almost expired products (don't make much sense). Not to mention the fact that the majority of the staff has seen my spouse shop and purchase thousands of dollars worth of merchandise at the EVERETT location. I am sure we are not the only loyal customers that have been subjected to this ignorant practice (this model will make the store loose more money than the shoplifters take). On a further note we have witnessed a large rodent inside the store (possibly a rat) on two occasions recently. I strongly recommend finding a more consumer friendlier location to shop. read more

I have a backpack that I carry around with my medication & work laptop and was told I had to leave it in my car or hand it to them like I was a high school kid. I have shopped here many times and usually spend over $100.00 The people are never too helpful or friendly, like you should be grateful they allow you in:-( Today, they were also lacking in the usual customer service etiquette, by NOT taking the next person in line Before opening a new register to check out customers. Their behavior (2 separate checkers did the same thing) put a damper on my otherwise pleasant long day. I guess there was no manager in to MAKE THEM do the right thing. Listen up people, there are many places I could be shopping and you are now at the bottom of my list! Plus, STOP with the phony "You saved....today." My 4 year old son wanted to use the restroom because we were in the car for and a hour in a half and I get that there's COVID 19 but he really needed to use the restroom, my daughter went with my son to ask if he could use the bathroom but then one of the workers called one of the managers and told them in a really rude way that my 4 year old son couldn't use the restroom, I'm really disappointed because I always come here to buy groceries but this is the last I'm shopping at this place. read more

I came in this evening with my family and had a great experience. My son was tired and a little cranky but the cashier helped get our groceries on the belt and then made a point of taking the time to make him smile. She wasnt wearing a name tag but the receipt said her name is Leslie. I have been coming to this location for a while and this is the first time that i was able to have a good experience with a cashier. I was looking for a product and she was able to lead me to it accurately. I have tried to ask for help before and the responses were generally unfriendly and incorrect.. The interaction i had with the management were unprofessional and the manager named Shane looked messy and the way he speaks is notprofessional in my opinion. The stores cleanliness is an issue. It appears that the building is older and so some problems are to be expected however the dust and dirt accumulated on the shelves makes me believe that things arent being disinfected or sterilized regularly. I was equally disapointed with the restrooms. There was a strong odor of urine so i chose to wait until our next stop. Hire more good help. Let go of the employees who obviously dont want to be there. read more

I think that this grocery outlet in comparison to the one in Lynnwood and Aurora are WAYYY more cramped and smaller than this location. I really love that I have a grocery outlet so close to where I live. If you've never visited one, you may want to just take an hour when you have nothing to do, and go in and look around. Since they renovated their bathrooms they harass me and my wife when we go into the bathroom together and act like we are trying to steal something even when we leave our unpaid items out in a cart outside of the bathroom. Two employees followed us for about 1 minute after we left the bathroom and the people upstairs were all on the balcony watching us too. It sucks after shopping here for years and out of nowhere getting treated like thieves from the bathroom to the register. These corporate fat heads need to find something better to do than harass customers. If it happens again you can bet I am getting an attorney and will continue to document this and any future issues. Met with the owner Henry Martinez. Very personable and out there everyday being helpful to people. Every 2nd Thursday the allow an additional discount for seniors. Great prices and selection. I suggest going out there early as things fly. Selection changes often depending on what he brings in. Some of what he gets comes from Costco and other suppliers....it's amazing how much you can save! read more

So, I have never been to a "Grocery Outlet" before. Nor, have I ever written a review before. BUT, I am today. My girlfriend wanted to go to this store and I thought, why not? So, we went and first thing I noticed was how incredibly small and cramped everything was. There was very little organization. We couldn't find a lot of what we wanted or needed. I am not talking like super hard to get things either. LIke tissues, tissues should not be hard to find. Everything was just kind of stuffed into places with no real reason. The bagger had no idea what he was doing (putting eggs and bread with all the canned food. The cashier was rude and not very helpful when I asked if they had something. She just mumbled something along the lines of "Over there" and pointed in the general direction with no other help. The good things, were the prices were pretty great, and what they did have they had a lot of. But, all in all it was very subpar to any kind of grocery outlet I had ever been too. They were very weird about their bathrooms which are locked. So it was just all in all not a great experience. I wouldn't go there unless you had no other alternative. read more

I always manage to find the best deals running here. Mind you, it is not a place to go if you are looking for something specific. However, to supplement shopping and try some new, fun foods and products, it's the best. They also have a lot of super cheap shower gels, shampoos, etc. When I say cheap, I mean good priced but not scary. They usually have a lot of the more expensive organic brands (aka hippie shampoo), but for at least half the price. This is also a great place to get pots for planting. I could have spent a fortune at the garden center this year, but instead got great pots at Grocery Outlet for $3-6. Just make sure you pick ones without a lead warning. It's a funky, ghetto place with cigarette butts and chewing gum all over the pavement, but if you can look past that, it's amazing! read more
