I ordered ground pork for pickup from this location, and when I got home and opened it, I discovered mold growing on it. It's a clear food safety violation that could make someone sick When I returned it, the customer service was appalling: no apology, no concern, and no acknowledgment of how dangerous this is. After I got back home and checked the new package more closely, I realized the expiration date could easily be rubbed off by hand. This makes me wonder if old meat is being cleaned up and given a new date to look fresh. If that's happening, it's not just unacceptable -- it's dangerous and dishonest. This Safeway is absolutely horrible. You have people begging in the parking lot that are using drugs. The store employees are kind of rude and they also look like they're using drugs. This store has completely gone downhill and there are people shooting up in the parking lot, I get in my car and there's two people next to me like getting their drugs together and looking like they're ready to party in the grocery store parking lot. The employees won't do anything about it and they don't care. I'm not sure how merging this company with another one is going to fix its current problems, but if they wanna acquire more stores, they need to work on the ones that are existing because this did not look like this at all and I will never come back here again. read more

i really do not understand this store, why 1-2 cashier and you can not get anything from service desk at all during day due to lady is not there she is working on floor, i work in retail and if someone is not at post then you page the person to help the customer this store lack alot of things here and gives a rude comment or look when asking for help. i wanted 10 mins and workers seen i was waiting in deli ahd heard workers was saying how there hours at cut or missing and how they do not want to work with someone, then one look at me and said the deli is closed at 7pm so i guess you can not get anything from there if you work until 8 or 9pm but the store is open late. the cook whole chickens are done in morning and you can not get any more if they sale out, although it take about an hour to cook one but it is to late or lazy i think it is time to go some place else for better friendly service read more

Before being acquired by Albertson's, this was a friendly and customer-focused neighborhood grocery. Since then, everything has declined. Too few cashiers, indifferent stockers, fewer quality brands. I've been a customer at this location for 40 years, & today's experience convinced me to never shop at a Safeway store store again. My daughter was berated by a man with the title "District Manager", because she dared to ask for customer service. Worse, after humiliating her in the checkout line, he retreated to his office then stormed back to pitch a tantrum. He tore her $200 worth of groceries out of their bags that she brought from home, struggled with her over the bags, and then screamed "Get out of my store! I never want to see you in here again! Get out!" Turns out, this appallingly unprofessional behavior is not unusual for Safeway management or employees. Safeway is not a member of the BBB, yet still has a lot of complaints. Does anyone else think that it is ridiculous, infuriating and uncanny that there seems to be only ONE checker working here, ever? Also, this is Everett so be prepared to mace someone (probably junkies or pimps) on your walk in or out. Ladies, have your keys in your hand when exiting the grocery store (good to do in general). I would suggest getting what you need and getting out quick, however with the whole one checker thing...that is nearly impossible. This store is not in a great area. For the most part out of all of the stores in the area, this is one I as a 24 year old woman do not feel comfortable going to by myself. It's right on the edge of downtown Everett and seems to attract not so great people. The workers are for the most part nice, but I know they do put up with a lot so they are not always in the best of spirits. Try and be nice to them if you do go there!! But in general I would recommend avoiding it. Even walking to and from the car doesn't feel safe. The inside is like any other Safeway though. As long as you are aware while you are there then it should be OK! read more

The store is always crowded even with self checkout. The deli people act as though you are a problem because you'd like to order something (only two of them are even friendly). The best part about the store is the cashiers they are friendly and actually seems as though they give a damn. Overall the inside of the store is clean but the outside usually has bird poop and homeless/druggies outside. read more

This review is just for the pharmacy department at this store. I transferred my prescriptions to this Safeway after moving to the area. The transfer was great and had no issues but the service went down hill from there. Most of the time when I went to pick up a refill after submitting it online I ended up waiting. Not for the script to be done but waiting for help at the counter. I'd stand there and wait while the 3 or 4 people behind the counter would work away. They'd look at me and smile but no "I'll be right with you", or any other pleasantries. They also have this silly habit of opening the bottle and showing you the pills when you pick them up... even with a new prescription. The only thing I could really say was "yup, those are pills all right" LOL After six months I switched to Bartell's. It's further away but MUCH better service. read more

They have nice trays, like veggies, meat & cheeses and one we bought even had olives...Oooo fancy! Like the other review said, the shoppers are kind of, ehhhhhhh. Not the weirdest of the weird, but I've seen some really weird and rude people here. Sometimes the staff is attentive, other times not. I once was looking for a wine, can't remember the name, and looked around in their section for probably 10minutes. No one came to help. So I asked the Deli person if someone could help me find a wine. I believe a manager of some sorts came over and started looking with me. He said he hadn't heard of the wine, and didn't know where it would be. Also, the person of wine knowledge wasn't there, rarely is or something like that, and people just come in and stock it and leave. Well great, thanks SO much for your unhelpfulness. So I found another wine, and left unhappy. About a month ago, I had to use the electric wheelchair because I had broken my foot, so there I was driving around the store, getting weird and dirty looks. There I was thinking "Yes, my foot is broken, I'm younger than you and driving this, please get over it and move so I can finish shopping." Sheesh. Then when I was trying to return it and get my crutches, some street-walking looking girl was buying cigerettes, obviously unaware of me behind her trying to get the emplyoee ladys attention, and thus I had to wait. I was in view of the staff, but alas, I still had to wait. So don't expect all smiles and helpfulness, but don't expect real bad service either. read more

This safeway needs to talk with their employees. None of them say hello to you. The people in the deli make you feel like you're bothering them when you ask them to get something for you or ask a question. We asked the Fish market area a question about getting some meat cut up and she piratically called us idiots and told us to go to the deli which reluctantly helped us. read more

After going through checkout needed to use the bathroom badly as I have a disability and the medication I take makes me need to use it often. The mens room was out of order, so I went up to customer service to ask if there was another bathroom, she said no. I asked if I could use an employee bathroom as I have a disability, she said no you can't use it. I told her that there is a law in Washington State, she got really aggressive with me and told me she knows the law and she doesn't have to let me use the bathroom. I became very upset, and she threatened to call the cops. I just left, and had to sit in my car and wait for my daughter to come out. I then called safeway corporate. If that was indeed the manager she needs to be fired. read more

I went in to use the BECU ATM machine this morning and as I was walking back to my car in the parking lot, an Employee cleaning the lot said I was a thief in front of several other customers who were walking into the store. Then, she proceeded to mutter at me from under her breath. After I got her name and explained that there is an ATM machine inside, she said "Nothing personal, duuude"... very condescending and the whole thing was a hurtful experience. I am not a thief. I finally called the store and talked to one of the managers, and she was actually a pleasure to deal with. She assured me they will be talking to her about this, and to talk to them immediately if something like that happens again. I just hope nobody else gets treated that way from now on, because it can ruin your entire day when someone singles you out like that, especially when it's in front of other people. read more

I happened to be looking for the Safeway phone number online, when I came across all of these bad reviews. I've been using this store for the last 25 years and while I agree with a negative thing or two, I DO NOT agree that it's a bad store. I use the pharmacy for a couple of things and have noticed a marked increase in good customer service during the last year. Prior to that, it was difficult to get the pharmacy folks to smile or speak in a friendly manner, but that has changed and I'm happy with the customer service now. When that line is taking to long, it's generally a problem caused by the customer or his/her doctor's orders. Yes, I have noticed people panhandling or sitting in a car, seeming to wait for someone. I ask for the manager and ask them to take care of the panhandling. I hang around to see that it happens. If they were to refuse, I'd call the police myself. For the most part, I think the general public doesn't want to get involved, and I think that's a big part of the problem. Here's the good part: EVERY employee I have ever dealt with in the store has been extremely helpful. When asked where a certain item is, they want to walk me to it. They are all friendly, and I am friendly to them. There are two clerks (at least that I'm aware of) who help with getting the groceries to the car and they are both extremely hard working. Are you telling them how much you appreciate your help? Yes, sometimes the lines are a little long, but that is dependent on the day of the month and the time of day. The cashiers are people, too, and surely they feel the pressure of a long line, as well. Why not be friendly to them? If you're really treated THAT poorly, take it up with the person in charge first. I realize it's much easier to lash out while sitting at a keyboard, but it never solves the problem. Last but not least: if you purchase alcohol in ANY store in Washington State, don't huff/puff or whine at the cashier when you are asked for your I.D. Yes, you are CLEARLY over 21, but it's the law. I am reviewing Safeway Groceries Online - and am assuming that the closest Safeway on Rucker in Everett is where the groceries were delivered from. This is a great service where you order your groceries online and easy to use! I ordered heavy items to be delivered: cat sand, several gallons of spring water, etc. and could not pick this up by car, so I decided to give it a shot rather than lug heavy items on the bus or call a cab. The minimum order must be $49. I used their code EASY7 from their website when I signed up and was not charged any additional fee. I did not tip the guy either because when I asked he told me they are not allowed to receive tips and to just give him a good rating by emailing customer service and the email is at the bottom of the paperwork he gave me. I will email them to give him a good review. He wrote his name on the paperwork he had me sign. When you sign up on the website you have a choice to put a check mark beside each item where you would accept a similar brand or a different size of the brand you order. You shop online either by using a search box and typing in the item or by going to the groupings of items they have where you search through and find the items you want to buy. You pay online right then. You also choose the time frame you want them to deliver your groceries and what day. The time frames can be between a certain hour, or between a wider choice of time frames and on the days they have the service available, which is most days, which are blocked out on their online calendar. The process is very easy and I like to shop online anyway. You can type in your zip code to find out if Safeway online shopping is available in your area. He was at my house for under 5 minutes and asked where I wanted him to put my groceries and brought them in for me. Avoid fighting traffic and pedestrians in the parking lot, ugh, and have your food delivered conveniently! Let someone else carry them up the stairs! Don't go to the store if you are tired after work; schedule your groceries to be delivered while you are at home after work and comfy! I'm sure a lot of people would use this service if they knew it was available! It is very convenient and I plan to use this service once-a-month. read more

This store has become my number 1 grocery store! What a turn around it has made in the last 6 months. Deli is excellent, flowershop, and over all customer service has improved 100%, Employees are helpful and act like they are happy to be at work. I credit this with Carrie Nobach new manager. She has cleaned this store up and has made a great team!! Plus restripe of the parking lot! So happy to be back as a Safeway customer again. This is not one of Safeway's finest locations at all! Unfortunately it's so darn convenient and close to my work otherwise I would probably never set foot in this Safeway. Stopped in to get a "get well card" and some chicken. Grabbed the card right away and proceeded to the deli where I ordered a couple of pieces of chicken from a younger male who had that thousand mile away stare that said my day has been ruined because I had to quit playing video games to go to work. He moved slowly and without purpose and his mind was not there as I had to ask him three times for my order. After checking out I decided to grab a soda from the vending machine outside. I pushed the Orange Crush button and received a AMP energy drink. I went back in to inform the customer service lady who let me switch my pop out but could careless about wrong beverages being dispensed. The pharmacy department in this store is an utter disgrace and the employees (Heather and Teresa) are the rudest I have ever come across including the Pharmacist Rich. I phoned a week ago to fill a RX & repeated my order along w/ all the info twice to Heather who said the RX would be ready the next evening well we waited & went to pick up last night and they did not have it ready, had our Vet call again and she assured me it would be ready by closing & when I called to confirm she said she never got it then finally checked the vm & found it then informed us they did not have any of the medicine on hand. Rich said they only check their vm's every 3 days and they never answer the phones. Rich was so snotty and we ended up having to go to the Lake Stevens store were they were definitely much more helpful. I drive past this store on my way to QFC. There are 2 really friendly clerks and the rest ok, they don't have organic meats which is another reason to go elsewhere. The main reason I don't shop there is the people who do, I had a guy try to steal my purse until my husband stopped him about a year ago . Packaged meats are routinely left on unrefrigerated displays, The bakery thinks that everything should be made with cake flour, and the meats seem to release way too much water when cooked (not sure why that is; maybe one of the readers can help us understand the science). read more

Even though this is the closest grocery store for me, I actually dread shopping here. There is never a shortage of sketchy looking people loitering outside, asking for money, or laying around with their belongings and cell phones plugged in to the outlets. I had to call the police one time because there was a young woman with a child in a car shooting up in plain sight, in the parking lot! I saw a security guard there for a week or two, not sure what happened with that as I haven't seen them back in over a month. And finally, to make matters worse, because you just want to get out as soon as possible, if you are ready to check out you better be prepared to be patient... there is ALWAYS backed up lines at check-stands. read more

This review is in regards to the Starbucks barista, Sarah. This is the most convenient stop on our route to work, but due to Sarah's consistent rudeness to my husband, we have begun going out of our way to another Starbucks. This morning (12/16) we didn't have time for the alternate route, so I opted to go in so he would not have to. She huffs as if it is annoying that we are ordering coffee (it's just an Americano so I can't imagine it's the complexity). No smile, no greeting. I asked if I could get cash back, and she said that she could not do that (I assumed she meant the machine wouldn't let her). When I ran my card it gave me the option for cash back, and thinking she might not have realized it WAS an option, I selected $20 cash back. She was pissed and snipped "I meant I didn't have enough to be giving out. You people are always getting hundreds out in the morning!". As if that is my fault that another customer, gasp, also wanted cash back? Never never going here unless there is a different barista. The fact that she is always in such a bad mood and taking it out on customers is unacceptable, I have no idea why she thinks that is by any means a professional way to conduct business. read more

I don't even slow down as I drive by!!! I moved to Everett from West Seattle about a year ago. I think that was my first mistake! The Admiral Safeway is gorgeous, it's clean and the staff is attentive and well educated about their products. They take pride in the location. The Rucker Safeway is the polar opposite! From the moment I stepped out of my car I was frightened for my life. The parking lot is crawling with meth heads and scum of the earth. The produce was infested with fruit flies, even the display right as you come in the door. I asked to use the bathroom at about 7pm, I came straight from work and wasn't going to make it home. A cashier named George yelled at me, by yelling I mean at the top of his lungs, that I had no legal right to use the facilities. I found the manager and she had no problem letting me use it. I made a comment to her how unprofessional the cashier and she agreed. It's dirty and the employees unprofessional. I wouldn't even feed my dog food from this store, it's definitely not fit for human consumption. read more

The lines are always slow and they never have enough checkers. It routinely takes 10 minutes for Express Lanes, which have no maximum amount of items. There are people with half full shopping carts going through the Express Lanes. Drive the extra 3 minutes to QFC and save yourself some time. read more

Even though it is very near where I live and I pass it almost every time I go out, I will NEVER go to this store again! It is generally very dirty, and understaffed. The other day, I ran in for two items. I knew where to go for each item. One was at the deli. The deli counter person was indifferent and grumpy and the food service area was littered with food between compartments and dishes mixed in together because of careless serving. WHAT A MESS!!! (by the way - I chose two Asian dishes which were actually DRIPPING GREASE! There was a huge puddle of it in the bottom of the container.) I picked up the other item from the dairy section, and went to wait in the VERY LONG line at the quick checkout. (This has ALWAYS been my experience at this particular Safeway - thus understaffed!). Finally, another person opened the other quick check line and I moved to that line. My shock was how filthy dirty this checker **who touches the food we eat** was! He had dirty hands and his fingernails looked like they had not been cleaned for months! His shirt tail was not tucked in and he was generally unkempt. He obviously takes no pride in his personal appearance. Imagine my REAL shock when I looked at his badge, and he is an Assistant Director (manager???)!!!!! WhatEVER! I expect to have quick service, a clean store, well stocked shelves with a variety of choices, and employees who take pride in their appearance and job when I shop for food.
