I love Haggen. It's such a nice experience to shop in - good vibes, lots of selection, and some products you just won't find stocked elsewhere. Their beer and liquor sections are insane. Their produce is always MILES AHEAD of nearby food purveyors. Like... I once found a "Gem" avocado there, and it was seriously perfection... just wow. This was my first visit at this location. I wanted to try out their 1) sushi and 2) fried chicken. The sushi section was well-stocked. I purchased two different sushi to try out. For their hot fried chicken I first checked their website to make sure when it's available. On their website for this location it says that fried chicken is available beginning at 11 a.m. There were a few pieces left drumsticks and one wing. I asked when more would be coming out. The lady (who was nice) told me about 20 to 25 minutes. Initially I was going to wait but decided not to wait. With the high prices they have, management should have made sure there was hot fried chicken available starting at 11 a.m. I do not blame the two people at the deli who were working tending to a few things before the lady nicely welcomed me. It is management. The cashier was nice. The people were nice. Overall I was not satisfied with my shopping experience here. When I go to Publix locations in Florida they always have hot fried chicken in stock throughout the day. It is never a battle to find hot fried chicken at Publix. The best store I have ever been to. They have the best chicken strips ever. When I eat the chicken strips and drink the chocolate milk it's like better than Olive Garden even though that is the fanciest restaurant ever. I've heard friends who live north rave about Haggen for years but never made the drive until today. I've been looking for honeycomb and the couple of local farms in the area sell honey, but not actual honeycomb. I asked one of the farms if they knew of anyone in Snohomish county who sold honeycomb and they said it was a while ago, but they remembered seeing it at Haggen. The first thing I notice is how clean everything is, someone near a register said hello as we walked in. The person at Starbucks said bye when we left. We found someone and asked if there was honeycomb in the store, like actual honeycomb, they called someone and then said someone was checking and would call back. They answered, and said it was on aisle 2. We went down aisle 2 and it's where all the baking supplies are, we get to the end cap near the bakery and right there on the aisle 1 cap are boxes of Honeycomb cereal. The person on the phone definitely didn't understand and Haggen does not have honeycomb, but this was funny and we weren't even mad. XD We asked the person at the bakery if they carried honeycomb just in case and they said no but they carried really good honey and recommended a brand, we thanked them for the info. So Haggen is really clean, everyone is nice and tries to be helpful, had a beautiful display of baked goods, noticed a good variety of cheeses and oils and vinegars when walking through and stuff in general, and doesn't have honeycomb but no one in the county seems to anyway so that's fair I guess. If someone finds local honeycomb please tell me where to find it. But yeah Haggen is great. read more

The "Drive up and Go" parking spots need to be moved or removed completely. They are the four closest parking spots and are never used. I often see mothers with small children or elderly people trekking the parking lot to park when these spots are open. If they are actually a benefit for the business, please consider moving them to a less desirable location. The staff is always wonderful. I am happy to see Michael's face there for the past decade. I live close to Haggens and I know this store very well. The store is clean, no complaint about that. Wide variety of products, although they are more expensive than other stores. The chinese food deli could use some improvent, especially the woman behind the counter could learn some basic courtesy, as she is very rude. My main issue with this store is the huge, ongoing safety issue what they keep ignoring for more than a year now. Those of us, who live nearby, have to deal with the homeless camping behind their store, with the drug use, with the fighting. Our apartment managers and also some of us contacted Haggens' manager several times last summer, as the problems created by these drug addicts became unbearable. The chainlick fence behind their building is overgrown with thick ivy, giving excellent hiding places for the criminals. They also have huge trees with very low hanging branches, making the area dark even with some lighting, which they finally fixed in some way last summer. When I talked to one of the main managers last summer, explaining the problem, how these homeless are cutting holes in the fence and coming right up to our front doors with their unleashed pitbulls, he was the one who became upset. I asked, if they can fix the lighting as all the light bulbs were burned out, if they could cut the ivy and clear the fence from it, if they could cut the low hanging branches, he said, they are not responsible, as they don't own the building, they are just leasing it. When our manager went over in person and showed photos of the cut fence, the shack what the homeless built, finally they replaced some of the light bulbs, but not all of them. I believe, this business is ignoring the huge safety issue, what their lack of action is creating for the nearby residents, many of them are eldery, in wheelchairs or using walkers, not fixing the problem behind their building. The only reason must be the cost to hire some yard care people who would remove the ivy and cut those branches and shame of them. read more

Came to this Haggen for the first time. I will not be returning. Employees claim they cannot ask a customer to PUT A MASK ON. I personally experienced 5 people walk around maskless and employees just turned their heads and ignored. For a Kroger brand, you would expect a mandate especially when you have signs on the door specifying "no entry without mask". How the state doesn't shut down this Haggen boggles my mind... read more

Tami the manager in the bakery and the cake decorator (older, brown hair with the accent) is incredibly rude. I will never ever buy a cake from here again. They treated me like a criminal and questioned my cake replacement after the last one was made incorrectly. They were so rude it was absolutely shocking. I understand everybody's overworked, but this was on a different level, the cake decorator was laughing at me. Wow, no more cakes for me or my family! As I was walking away the guy behind the meat counter loudly yells to her "It's ok for you to tell them not to lean on the counter!". The comment was obviously directed at me. I like to shop at Haggens for items like fresh seafood and bakery items. Today though I was disappointed. I know that the bakery case has always carried on hand really individual special items in the past for birthdays, anniversaries or just a thank you to a special person. Today I stopped by to get a pretty decorated cupcake or small cake for my granddaughters 25th birthday. Wow everything was just Holiday themed. This is fine but my family has 4 birthdays in December. 3 of which are adults. I would like to ask Haggens to have at least one or two items that are not just holiday themed on hand for those of us that want to just want to pick a nice treat up for a special person. read more

I go out of my way to grocery shop almost exclusively here now. Living in downtown Everett, it's not as though it's an excursion getting to Snohomish, just a ten minute drive, but totally worth shopping here over the grocery stores that are more convenient, of which are plentiful in the Everett area. The quality of produce is high, and often they have samples of fruits that will sell you on the spot. Their deli has a wider selection than most; I've often swung in to purchase a single person serving of quinoa or couscous. I appreciate how friendly everyone is. I'm sure everyone has experienced that moment in a grocery store where they feel totally lost, and are spinning outside of an aisle while trying to figure out where an item like toothpicks would be located. (Baking? Paper plates? Gah!) And it seems the second I start that hopeless spin, someone is nearby to ask me if I need help and quickly point me in the right direction. They have an enclave dedicated to coffee and teas, a bakery section that has you staring through glass for longer than you'd expect, and while they have higher prices than safeway, they also offer more quality brands with that organic, small business feel that the 21st century is craving. Every time I try a homemade salad from the deli it's rendered me with terrible food poisoning. The fryer oil is not changed very often leaving the hot foods tasting sandy and often looking super dark. The night workers are especially bad at being attentive to customers, they never seem to have a person dedicated to serving the counter. I find it hard to even stay in the dining area anymore. I came in early one morning and a woman was changing her baby's diaper right there on a table instead of going to the restrooms. Then she just chucked it in a bin leaving the whole place smelling awful the rest of the day. No one did anything about this when I complained to customer service, as I still smell a used diaper every couple of days. read more

We love shopping here. They have car carts and mini carts for kids. They also have free fruit for kids and the deli has cheese for them. You can also get a free cookie at the bakery. Leanne in the bakery is super helpful and great when you need a special cake. Adam in the seafood counter is also very nice. He taught my son about octopus and gave him a sample! My son loved it so we bought some for later. The other guy at the meat counter is young and thin and also very helpful! I wish I remembered his name. I also asked about cauliflower pizza crusts and now they have them so that was nice to see the store listens!! All the other employees are nice too! This Haggen is beautiful and clean, with a fantastic selection. On Father's Day, they offered a free brownie and decorations for the kids to create. The two young ladies were so sweet to my two year old daughter. The cashiers, deli and meat counter staff are also very friendly. I had a bizarre, negative interaction with a bakery employee last week. She advised me no one was available to write "Happy Birthday" on the cake I selected, though two other ladies were visibly working on confections. However, I just said, "Ok." The trouble really hit when I tried to close a bakery case that had been left open while the bakery staff was boxing my cake. Apparently, there was a pole that needs to come down first. The pole moved down as the staff member yelled, "Please don't!" It was too late. The metal pole looked slightly bent (looks like it happens all the time), not broken. The employee ran over, huffing and puffing, and stood there trying to bend the pole back to perfection. I told her in a kind voice, "I'm sorry, I thought I was helping." Several customers were adjacent and I desperately just wanted to leave out of embarrassment. However, I needed that incredibly elegant white cake for my mother in law's Birthday celebration. I ended up wandering until I saw the staff member emerge with the cake box. I began to say, "thank you" and she said, "it's ok" over my voice. Apparently, she thought I was apologizing again. Phew! Will definitely avoid her next time around. Maybe if this is a common occurrence (I could tell I hadn't been the first nuisance of this sort, and could see the pole in the neighbor case had also bent), give the person standing alone in front of a case, begging to be closed, a heads up? Or refrain from showing dramatic disdain for a customer who made a simple mistake. At least the cake was a huge hit! read more

Oh how we love Snohomish Haggen! Such fresh food, so many organic options, the staff are freaking awesome and always so friendly and social. We try and learn all of their names since we're there so much. When my husband goes to the store real quick without me, they ask how I'm doing. Just super personable. Great grocery selection. A little high on the prices, but you're paying for the selection that includes some nice organic/healthier options. I visit their deli waaaaaay too often when I'm too lazy to make dinner myself. Their chinese food is... meh. The Honey Chicken is the best, but the rest is too salty or bland. However, pretty much everything else they have in their deli is AWESOME. They have sushi specials on Wednesday that are hard to ignore. Food at the deli is always good. Costume made sandwiches are very good. Chinese food is a hit or miss. The fried rice is sometimes overlooked and the chow main is not the best. I have to say that the spring rolls and sushi are delicious. But I won't be getting any more Chinese food. I can't even go in there because every time I drive by, I see multiple pet dogs dragging their owners towards the store through the parking lot. This makes me wonder how much merchandise has been licked and peed on, and I can't feel comfortable bringing my service dog in. It's scary how entitled pet owners are about bringing their dogs everywhere. I get not being able to leave your dog in the car on a hot day, but risking the safety of people with disabilities and the sanitary standards of a food establishment is just horrible. I don't know how an expensive grocery store can keep such low standards for their customers. I called to ask about their pet policy and they say they aren't allowed to ask enough (I call BS because it's REALLY ready to tell someone is faking when they can't control their beagle on a flexi leash in the parking lot) and they're discriminating against disabled people by not maintaining a safe environment for us with the minimal accommodations they could just by asking people to leave with their pets and letting them know that misrepresenting a pet as a service animal is illegal and punishable by a hefty fine. Until they change their policy in dealing with animals in the store, I cannot recommend that anyone supports this business. I hope managers see and respond to this, because if anyone with a legitimate service dog gets hurt (because a pet is barking/lunging/otherwise distracting the service dog so it cannot perform its tasks) or their service dog is hurt in the store because of their lax policies, they and the pet owner can get sued big time. read more

We really like this store, but we keep hearing that it's going to either get shut down, or become another Albertson's. Conveniently located adjacent to the post office, I tend to shop here for fish and meats more than anything else. Their deli has some great salads (spicy Thai noodle salad FTW!!) and their cheese selection is pretty rad. Otherwise, it's a little pricey compared to Freddy's or Safeway. Meat and fish quality are miles beyond what you'll find at Freddy's or Safeway, however, and I'll keep shopping there for those staples as long as it remains a Haggen. If it's converted to an Albertson's, we'll probably just suck it up and shop at Freddy's exclusively. The entryway is pretty compact, and sometimes there are sales stations set up that you simply can't avoid--girl scout cookies, etc. I'm already paying more just to shop here, I'd rather not be hassled by 9-year-olds on my way out. Sorry, I support the scouts, but don't like the confrontation. I like to remind myself that it will help the kids build character, whether or not they get my money. read more
