    My parked car was hit by a 96 year old man with Geico, so when it came time to do some body work, I had no idea where to go. Geico suggested Grobens Auto Body in Centereach. I was nervous at first, being a woman & not having any experience with Grobens or Geico. I asked around and got some good reviews about both of them. Overall, I was VERY HAPPY with the service I got. The employees were helpful. I got my car back and was shocked how good it looked. I could not tell it was ever in an accident. Isn't that what every person wants? I would use Grobens for future bodywork. Let's just hope I don't have to :)

    Most likely won't be going back ,the actual price was higher then the quote . The quality of the repair ( paint ) was insufficient.

Our car seats are so tight that I'm not sure if they're ever gonna come out of this car . I've even taken family Members to have their seats looked at, and Chris does it all with a smile. What I appreciate about Chris and Mike is that when we had a very noisy power seat (it still works, just sounds like chewbacca's mating call) they were honest with us, and said that the cost of trying to figure out what was wrong and then fix it was more than it was worth, and they didn't want to see us waste our money!     i will never EVER use this auto body shop never again..and this is my first review and…read moreunfortunately i have to write to warn you avoid at all costs..the shop owner had work on numerous of cars for me starting back with my 00's Nissan...ive never went anywhere else for 10 years.. trust and believe he had fix countless of accidents ive been involved in. well over thousands in dollars worth of work he made off me being loyal to him and only going to him. i thought he was a real friend he show his true colors. for 10 years i paid this deductible all time,everytime.1k for 10yrs straight..he never cut me any slack, not once and never have complain but maybe because iam a woman of color he never offer; its the holidays i thought he would have a heart. not that ive ever even ask nor look for a hand out mind you, i even bought them bagels and edible arrangements fruits one time before just to show my appreciation i thought he was cool but the money he was making off me wasnt enough; this isnt about him never cutting me any slack for deductible either which ill will tell you here, not all shops require that.i never knew this. immediately he said he will take the job i mean it a huge pay day to scam right..this monster was going to take 2020 car and write it off because i know longer wanted his services and he would get paid and take car and money..prob fix and sale who knows....i will explain everything...i had just pick my car up from him October past,the car was hit Christmas night...text him same night,explain accidents, says bring car in the morning...i dont bring car till 4pm ish due to handling insurance...etc an all day affair. its get there at 4ish pm...mind you; him and i had just discussed over phone that same morning that i do not have deductible i just paid him 1k in oct for work he just did iam struggling and still comings back paying bills then this occur...he told me over phone not to worry he take care of deductible this monster's waits till i get there with my car to tell me the only way he will help deductible by cutting expenses on my car!?!?!.red flag ;ok the coverage ur insurance do is what covers car damages not the deductible i have full coverage..the car is not total loss biggest damages ive ever had yes but it drove just fine..i get home after being drop off by uber cause i just drop car off to him; my gf then forward me a different auto body shop this is around 430pm and tells me to go to her ppl..i told her the car already with my guy but she insisted ..also i did want to hear what this person had to say to help.becus of the extent of damages of car this is the worst accidents ever maybe 12k in damages...i get in contact with other shop by 4:35pm...i was sold by 4:45pm.contact continental which closed at 5pm to tell them i no longer wish to go with them i wanted to remove car to bring to other shop now....becus he was going to help me in more way than continental ever could...but its a money loss for him which i know he felt sometype of way about that but i anit got time for all that my car smack pretty good and iam all types of angry...he fought me tooth and nail to keep car at his shop..plead for me to reconsider etc...mind you again i just drop car off at his shop at 4pm it was remove and towed to other shop the next day just keep that in mind...so from there its 5pm after back and forth he saying leave car with me i thought you were loyal ...bunch of mumbo jumbo bs nothingness, i won't lie; i folded and was gunna go with continental after he questioned my friendship in which u were never my friend! you know nothing of loyalties and for you to question me made reconsider but u were just using any tactics at any means to keep my vehicle..the night ends his shop close and the car stays the night by morning 11am call up continental and immediately told respect person iam going to remove car..all types of flabbergasted and " i thought we agree to keep it here..like he was not giving up my car to me.then it gets to in order for my car to be released i had to pay this and that and for started wrk??..i just dropped car off to him..he swore he started taking car apart etc without adjustors looking or taking pics, i asked he said yes .f n slick oil sales stuff.just scaring me to keep car there i told him to stop what he doing don't"work" furthermore. finally had the other shop contact verbally confrim they will be coming to remove car with their tow etc...he told me inorder to release car i had to pay him 250 for writing up the estimates additional 3 day storage which is bs i just brought car 4pm that yesteday.then he tells me car is total loss and damages exceed value of car..other shop call bs came for car anyways paid him his erroneous fees which came out to 400 in all from time frame of it being there he charge me all this around the holidays at my lowest other shop is reimbursed because he hada come out pocket to pay that was a low move then try to say car was a total loss ​ ​​

    Having worked in auto body while in college, I can say with experience that this is a first class…read moreshop. Their skill in the craft is outstanding. The price I was quoted was so good, I didn't even seek out additional estimates. they even made rental arrangements for me. When I picked my car up not only was the work impeccable, not possible to tell there was a repair, the car was washed, vacuumed and detailed.....it looked like it just came off the showroom floor! And, they are REAL HUMAN BEINGS, so nice and concerned. I was treated as if I were family. If I could give more than five stars or a ten, I would. Rare find nowaday!

Unfortunately, this most recent visit was a completely different story and ended up costing me a lot of unnecessary time, stress, and money. My Nissan didn't need major repairs, and I was assured the work would take about two weeks. I dropped the car off on February 28th, 2026. By the following week, I started calling because my rental period was ending and I would soon have to pay out of pocket. No one answered the phone for days. When I finally reached someone, I kept being told "next week," then "the following week," with no clear explanation for the delays. What makes this worse is that the shop reported the car as finished to my insurance on March 24th and was paid on the 26th, yet I didn't get my car back until March 30th, 2026. That's more than a full month for a job that was supposed to take two weeks. Because of the delays and lack of communication, I ended up paying about $800 in rental fees out of my own pocket on top of the $2K deductible. This experience was extremely aggravating, disappointing, and financially burdensome especially given my previous positive experiences with them.

    Everything was fine until my car was returned and within 2 days all the engine lights went on. It…read morewas towed to the dealership- not sure what was going on. The dealership told me it had to do with the repairs done by Nicks and they should tow the car so it could all go in a claim- Nick's left my car sitting at the dealership for a week. I had to go to Nicks on a Saturday to find out why they told me my car was towed and it never was. The foreman stood there laughing (please see picture below) not helping, wouldn't get a manager on the phone until I said out loud I am recording this whole interaction. Jason the manager hung up on me and then called the foreman back however I still had the phone - it was the worst experience ever. To have the manager tell me "I had the car back for over 2 weeks and it probably wasn't their fault" I have documentation I had the car back for 4 days 2 of those days I work in Midtown so I don't drive.
