My father had an accident 24 years ago and made his car look like nothing happened!!! I had a small fender bender in CT and drive there the next day. I got the car back the same day! Recently I treated my baby (mini Countryman) to a new paint job on the hood, aka bonnet, and not only did they make my car younger looking but took the time to make the gaskets & wiper blades look like new! My car was hit at this point the wrong side was fixed. They touched my wheel which didn't need repairs. These are custom wheels that I paid $1000 for. They lost the cover for the wheel. When I asked the owner what happened he started screaming at me and with the guy I had on the phone from geico. Even the receptionist starting getting nasty with me. read more

My elderly Mother's car had been rear ended and the whole staff at Grobens treated her so well and were so good to work with. They did an excellent job replacing the rear bumper. A few months later the car had a mysterious leak in the cabin on the front driver's side and water was accumulating on the floor after rains. We took it to Grobens and the owner spent a whole day looking for the source and found it from underneath the rooftop side seam and it was traveling down internally within the structure. A truly mysterious place for a leak! He dried out the car and sealed it up and cleaned the cars interior as well for my Mother. He was wonderful to us. read more

I just recently had to get my car done. Grobens has the nicest staff . Upon entering I was greeted with a hello from everyone that was in the front at the time. I'm all about positivity and although I had choices to go elsewhere which I had made an appointment with another place because of the politeness and the positive vibes I got I chose them. The work was excellent and the receptionist Sandy she's more than that though and the manager Tommy just sealed my decision they are the nicest people on the frontlines of the business you wanna meet. I just want to say everything from the walk in to the body work was all great and I highly recommend this place for not only excellent work but friendly service. My parked car was hit by a 96 year old man with Geico, so when it came time to do some body work, I had no idea where to go. Geico suggested Grobens Auto Body in Centereach. I was nervous at first, being a woman & not having any experience with Grobens or Geico. I asked around and got some good reviews about both of them. Overall, I was VERY HAPPY with the service I got. The employees were helpful. I got my car back and was shocked how good it looked. I could not tell it was ever in an accident. Isn't that what every person wants? High quality work and excellent customer service. My first encounter with Grobens was a couple years back when they did a fairly major body repair on my daughters almost new Jeep Patriot which was in an accident. They did a beautiful job on it. This week I had a paint problem on my new BMW 2 series. This was a problem of tree sap which I made worse trying to fix it myself. Matt was great and brought it in the shop and took care of it promptly and perfectly and he even helped me with a blown light bulb (I didn't even ask for that help!) I would also give this Auto Body Shop a zero if I could. We were in an accident with Geico Insurance. Geico set us up with Grobens Auto Body. We were told that the car would be looked at starting at 7:00 AM. We made sure that the car was there so it could be looked at first thing in the moring. We did not receive a call by 8:00 AM so we called Matt the Geico representative and he told me he knew nothing about the car at that time. We explained to him that we need the car repaired asap as I would be missing work due to this. Matt explained to me that they would start right away and he would get back to us. We called again at 10:15 AM Matt explained that the car was waiting for the wheel then alignment and he would have a better idea by noon. We called Matt again at noon and he stated that the he was leaving for the day, but the car should be finished before they close. We called Grobens Auto Body at 3:00 PM and were told that the wheel was on and that the car was being sent for alighment. (WHAT AUTO SHOP CAN'T DO ALIGHMENTS!!!!!!) We called at 5:00 PM and were told the car was finished and we could pick it up. We go to pick up the car and Dave the shop manager tells us, the car is not ready and that it wouldn't be until tomorrow. While he is on the phone with the alighment shop they tell him it should be done by 11:00 AM and they would start getting the car ready so it would take less time tomorrow. We asked Dave what time they open and he told us 7:00 AM. We asked why it would take until 11:00 AM, Dave stated that they wanted to give themselfs a custion just in case. We call the next morning at 11:00 AM and Dave tells us that the car is not done and that it wouldn't be done until around 1:00 PM. Finally at 1:00 PM they call us and tell us that the car is ready. (Oh and lets not forget that this whole thing cost me $300.00 including my $100.00 deductable) Now we get a call this morning from Geico because we reported how rude and how crappy the service and they put us in touch with Matts supervisor Vinny. Vinny was nothing more than a scared little boy. When we started explaining the issue he started crying and put Dave on the phone. Dave and his shop did nothing for us but charge us $300. I could have replaced the wheel and tire for $100 myself, and avoided this whole mess. Not to mention that now the wheel and tire that they replaced is squeeking so loud that I have to take it to another shop. The bottom line is that this shop only cares about the mighty dollar. They will add things that do not need to be done to hold your car even longer so you have to pay more and will do a sh*&ty job doing it. The are rude, unprofessional, uncaring, con-artist that only want your money. Dont believe me, read the other comments not everyone can be wrong. read more

Years ago I had nothing but problems at an auto body shop in Valley Stream (see review) a few years back I had nothing but problems at a auto body shop in Deer Park so when I bought my car in with rear passenger-side quarter panel damage I wasn't expecting anything special. Well they texted me almost every day updating me on the repair progress and when I received my car it was cleaned on the inside and the outside and my floor mats that I had in the trunk were put back in place. I believe Grobens went above and beyond and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody. I would also use them again in the future which hopefully I won't have to. read more

Someone hit my parked car and grobens fixed my car in 1 week cash payment. This was great but unfortunately one week later I got in another accident. Since we went through the other persons insurance they took their sweet time. They sent my car for a tire alignment with the spare tire on (a big no no) and returned my car A MONTH later with a head light out, tail light out and no gas in the tank. The employees are very rude especially their manager and I had a very unpleasant experience. I will never return/ recommend this shop. read more

The entire staff is super friendly but Matt serviced my car and went above and beyond for the claim repairs plus did a little extra for me. After my car accident they repaired my car beautifully. About a year later I had an a/c issue. After bringing the car to the dealership they told me to bring it back to Grobens. I thought wow this is going to be a crazy hassle. Grobens fixed the problem no questions asked!! Even gave me a CT5 Cadillac rental for the day on their dime, fixed my issue same day, and gave the car back vacuumed and shiny! These guys were awesome!! read more

These guys are amazing! Not only are they the nicest people ever, they honestly made my car look better than it did before it was damaged and I swear that they did more work than they needed to. My insurance covered basically everything, so they really went the extra mile with my car and I was so surprised they even cleaned and detailed my car--it hasn't looked or smelled this good in a long time! The owner of this place even drove me to work himself after I dropped my car off, and was just a really nice and chill person. If I could give it no stars I would. My car was damaged in an accident last year. Matt at Geico convinced me to use Grobans since I can get the express (cheapo) service. Gropbans was to replace the door and some other minor work. But when I got the car back the door leaked. I asked them to fix it, but they said it was fine, all in my mind apparently. As summer came I realized the window made loud noises when rolling down. Grobans said they didn't hear it. I also noticed the door dosn't unlock when you turn off the engine, well they do just half way. I asked Geico many times please let me use somebody else.. they said no. I finnally buckled under and called Grobans today and made an appointment to drop off my car so they can look at it again. I mean they must do something right, otherwise how could they be in buisness. Well the girl said to bring it in, no problem, very nice. But then said I had to speak to the manager. What a bum. On and on about how its not his fault, and why didn't I call and when did I call... I don't know! I am on my lunch hour trying to make an appointment. 9 minutes later I am saying for the umpteenth time can I just bring my car in I don't care whose fault, it does not matter! I don't want to talk about this its my lunch half hour. And .... yes its true I used a curse word. This mis use of the english language apparently upset the manager so much, more than anything... he told me to not bring my car back and hung up on me. So much for a warrantee. read more

I had a very negative experience with this body shop and they provided me with terrible customer service. Took them 9 days to do a simple auto glass repair job and 2 extra days then the agreed upon date for pickup. They told me the reason for the delay was that the car needed to be detailed. When I received the car there was dirt/mud on all four tires and in the passenger & driver side console so it was clearly not detailed matching the excuse they gave for the delayed repair. When I asked for 50$ off the cost of the job for extra days of uber/taxi transportation the owners daughter started to scream at me and embarrass me publicly in front of all the employees with extremely aggression, after I calmly explained why I felt it was the right/fair thing to do. She said she would issue me the refund and after standing in the shop for 10 minutes awkwardly waiting for the check after I had just been screamed at, she screams again say "actually I changed my mind you can leave now and never come back". What a horrible and uncomfortable situation for both me and the staff on top of the unreasonable time for repair, poor follow up, dirty car, belittling and Indian giving. read more

I recently had my first experience with an auto body shop, and I am so happy it was with Groben's. I had put a claim into my insurance company for my 2011 Acura TSX. I had extensive body damage from what must have been a hail storm of acorns (at the right angle my care looked like a golf ball) and they recommended Groben's to me. When I arrived Dallas greeted me warmly at the counter. She was friendly and engaging making sure that all my questions were answered fully before she proceed processing the assessment of my damage. I was happily surprised when I halfheartedly brought up a question about the quality of parts that would be used in my car, she instantly stopped what she was doing and made sure that she got me the correct information by calling Matt into the office. From there on Matt took exceptional care of my repair and provided impressively professional service. He keeping me informed about what was going on with my vehicle the entire time that they had it. I walked away with a stunning repair (literally looks better than the day I bough it) and confidence that nothing but top quality work went into my repair. After having $5,000 of work done to the outside of my car it looked great. A week later I noticed there was scratch marks on the inside of my door of where they had to put the door back together I started inspected my car more closely and realized there were also two hole marks in my tinted window. I took my car back to the shop dave apologized and said they would fix the damage they did to my car and told me it would only take a day. Later he called and told me they had to order another part because they repaired the scratches but they came back. If you replaced it the first time I'm pretty sure they wouldn't come back. When I went back to shop after looking over the work they did I noticed my headlight had condensation in it on the side of where they did all the body work. I told Dave (the manager) and he then proceeds to tell me he will order me a new headlight, so I shook my head considering I was frustrated at this point. Well that set off Dave and he became rude and nasty and tried to say I damaged my own car. I am in shock of how I was spoken too and Matt was standing right there when it happen and he didn't do anything to try and fix the situation. I have no idea how this body shop is still in business they don't fix you car correctly instead they make more damages in the process. And Dave is a vile human being. Take it from me and take your car somewhere else. read more

These people are they most inconsiderate, unprofessional people i have ever had work on my car. Unfortunately, three months ago I was in accident and Grobens came recommended through my insurance company. So I drop my car off (GET A RENT A CAR THAT I WAS PAYING FOR OUT OF POCKET) and after week and half goes by I get a phone call stating that my car will be ready in a few days. On the day I am suppose to pick up my car, they call to tell me they found glass in the vents. Which at first, I was little upset, they had my car for two weeks and no one even bothered to check if the shattered glass that was in my car and all over my dash was in the vents. It seemed convenient. But people are human, so I let it slide. They told me it was going to take a couple of days, and it did. HERE IS THE KICKER. Upon towing my car through the facility they cracked my windshield .Obviously I through a fit because this meant I had to wait for the glass repair man to fix my car. Which meant i had to continue driving and paying for my rent a car for another who knows how many days until this guy could show up. I demanded that the time I had to wait for the repair man should be paid by Grobens because they were at fault for the windshield. PUSH COMES TO SHOVE the repair man never shows up and I get a call from my claim adjuster stating that I should just come and pick up my car so I don't have to keep paying for the rent a car, and set up an appointment with the repair man myself (Which would of been nice to here the first time). So I do, but Grobens refuses to pay for a portion of my rent a car fees. I had to pay $700 in total for the rent a car. ALL IN ALL NOT RESPECTABLE BUNCH. read more
