As good as it gets! Juan is the owner of Portside Collision, he is great! This was the first time I was here, I brought my SUV in for a bumper replacement after someone hit me in the parking lot. Jaun talked you through everything, he answered all your questions, even questions you didn't know you had he answered before you could think of those questions. He ordered my new part the same day I spoke with him, and I hadn't even dropped the vehicle off, it would be another 2 days before I dropped my vehicle off. I spoke with him 5/16, dropped my vehicle off on 5/18, my bumper was already there. I just got my vehicle back today and I couldn't be happier. He explained how he saved me money, he explained how everything worked out to make everyone happy in the long run. He got me in, he got the work done in a timely manner, and the impressive part was I got my vehicle back before one of the busiest holidays that kick off the summer, Memorial Day! I definitely recommend Jaun! He is professional, his communication is very clear; there was never an misunderstanding about what was going on. I went through my first car accident after driving for over 9 years, victim of a rear-end incident in the Bronx, NY. I just had my brand new car, as little as 20 days old, when this all occurred. One of my closest friends from school recommended Juan and Portside Collision after he himself was in a big accident several years ago. The warm recommendation of Juan and his workmanship was enough to persuade me to seek Portside Collision for repairs. After traveling from the Bronx to Eastern Long Island I was pleasantly surprised at how warm and receptive Juan and the employees were. Juan took some time to break down some of the damages and work that was expected for the car and reassured me that my car would be returned to its brand new condition. I was nervous given the Pearl White paint color on my car and the stories I heard of how difficult paint match is for that specific color. Fast forward a few weeks later, my car looked flawless! My car had previous bodywork done on 3 panels and the paint failed and blistered off. I was hesitant to get it redone because of the time/stress/money involved in finding a quality shop and hoping they would do it right. I spoke with owners of 3 other shops and didn't feel comfortable with any of them before going to Portside. The results pretty much blew my mind, exceeded expectations. They also went above and beyond in taking care of the car beyond the scope of the quote. My only suggestion would be to use a different sanitizer - whatever was used smells like it has unfiltered ethanol in it. Portside Collision came highly recommended when my van was parked in a lot and hit by another vehicle. The bumper, side panel and sliding door suffered quite a bit of damage with some metal exposed in certain places. Portside Collision is by far the best Mechanics I have been to. From the beginning they made it very easy to have my car repaired after an accident. I was referred to Juan and his team from another one their clients. To say they have gone above and beyond would be an understatement. Since this was my first accident I was unfamiliar with the process, Juan did a great job of not only putting me at ease but also talking me through how to go about reporting it through insurance and picking up a rental. He even suggested I get it towed since we were unsure if the engine may have been damaged. Most importantly the car was brand new and it was devastating I crash it. I recall Juan reassuring me that he would do whatever he could to restore it to exactly how it was so that I wouldn't have to look at the damage and relive the experience. I have to say he did not disappoint! It was such a relief to see my car restored back to brand new. In regards to pricing I went through insurance. However my family reviewed the estimate and thought it was priced very fairly. This review comes late and I apologize to the guys at Portside Collision. Last year my parked car was hit by someone driving a U-Haul truck with a Learner's Permit. That was the first time that I ever had to put a claim in through my insurance company. Unfamiliar with the process, I called Juan at Portside Collision to get an idea of the car repair process. He was extremely pleasant over the phone and was kind enough to explain everything in detail. When I took my car in for him to assess the damage, without rushing me, he once again explained the process. I was pleased with his response and felt comfortable in leaving my car. Juan took me to Enterprise to get a rental, worked out the difference with the insurance company and the second claims adjuster, got original parts for my Jeep, completed my car before a snow storm was to hit and then returned the rental for me. It was such a seamless and hassle free process because of my insurance company and the guys at Portside Collision. The job was amazing and their customer service was superb. Having to deal with a car repair at the same time I was buying my first house would normally be a stressful situation, but I thank Juan for not making it so!!! read more
