When an Autobody shop based in Stamford with plenty of 5-star Google reviews gave me $3K estimate, which was roughly a quarter of the value of car itself, I decided to get a quote from Maggs Auto Body to get a second opinion. To my surprise, Maggs said it would take a few hours to fix. The next day, Maggs Auto Body completely fixed my car door for $140. The car door looked and worked as good as new. Beware - their towing service is a scam. They towed my car from I95 after accident on Sunday. Told me they have to tow it to their garage where I could pay for it. When I came to the garage, it was closed with no one around and no one answering the phone. So now I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere and no way to get my own car! read more

I was in a very bad car accident on the Merritt Parkway. The state police called Maggs to tow my car. The driver was nice and courteous. This is the end of their being professional My insurance company wanted to tow the car from Maggs to one of their shops in New York where I live. I called Maggs and told Jay I needed to release the car. He said I had to come to the shop and sign a release. I told him that it was legal in NY Metro area to send an email. He reluctantly accepted this. And I soon found out why. Since I was out of state towing the car, the longer they held the car the more money they made for storage fees. When the first tow from my insurance company showed up, they wouldn't give them the car because they decided they wanted cash. This enabled Maggs to keep the car another day maybe two.. This keeps me in limbo, not knowing whether my car will be fixed or totaled. I had already suffered some trauma from the accident and Maggs only increased my anxiety. I cannot vouch for their car repairs, but the have NO integrity and as far as I am concerned, and the Connecticut State Police should think twice about calling them to help. read more

The owner runs a tight ship (has a cute huge dog that I love, too). Unfortunately for me I had to use them twice. He made sure that both jobs were done the right way. Attention to every detail and the paint work is perfect. They will go back to do things even better if they aren't completely satisfied themselves. My Car Was In a Accident on 95 In Norwalk CT. The state had to have my Vehicle towed to the nearest Location which was Maggs Auto Body. A guy By the name J called me and told me that the damage to my car was over 8500 dollars. however that he would be using USED PARTS FOR MY VEHICLE FROM A JUNK YARD.Which I found rather odd because my insurance company was paying him in full for the damages. I told J I am not ok with used parts being on my Vehicle. J then said do you want the car or not. If we use new parts your car is going to be a total loss.I said well I dont want used parts on a car I am still paying on. J said he would call me back. About a hour later my insurance company called me and told me my car was a total loss that they found additional damage. strange all of a sudden. very sketchy if you ask me. However besides all of this vehicle stuff I live in another state and asked if my plates could be mailed to me because it would take me 4 hours to drive to get my plates. you would think that as a courtsey for your client you would do that. I was even willing to pay by phone with card whatever the cost maybe. J had called me back and said I cant do that why dont you google how much it cost and send me a prepaid slip. thats in possible because I dont know how much my plates would way. J then called me a Bitch said tell your fucking insurance company to do it Because Im not fucking doing it then hung up on me. I then called back and asked did you really just hang up on me. J then said yes I did you fucking Bitch I told him to please stop swearing at me because I am not being disrespectful he was talking over me and yelling and hung up again. PLEASE DONT GET YOUR CAR FIXED HERE. They are very unprofessional cheap and might just put your car together even though it is not safe to drive for you and your family. I have been using Maggs Auto Body to repair my vehicles for several years and have never had a problem with them. Jay has always treated me with respect and patience. My first car I brought there was a 90 Miata, worth about 50 cents to a junk yard that I'd managed to get into an accident with. He worked with me as well as the insurance company of the person at fault to make sure my car was repaired to perfection, and not totaled. The car has been back on the road for years and not had a single problem. Every other vehicle I have brought in has looked brand new after his guys have worked on them.
