French Toast
Tushar K.

The French toast was light, crispy, fluffy, and delicious! The coffee was great too, I had at least two cups. Great customer service, a nice interior, and a cute gift shop. Would definitely come back again!

We ordered the veggie omelette with sausage, Montecristo sandwich OMG! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy and finally the French toast. It was delicious.. service was good the server was very nice and friendly. We sat out side we were a group of 4 it was a perfect day to sit out side and eat. I've been here several times to eat and it never disappoints.

Overall view of my lunch plate Tim sandwich and feies

Overall experience was nice, relaxed, customer service friendly and very professional waitress. Nice no rush lunch extremely enjoyable ambiance and the food was great. Started with a healthy appetizer of cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes and then had the "Tim" sandwich with fries. Big guy couldn't finish but half the sandwich and fries. Doggy bag to go..

This place is so cute, very friendly, and has delicious food! Plus they have a little cute shop to the side of the restaurant that always has adorable things like holiday decor, bear/mountain decor, etc. CUTE. I have been here a few times and service is always spot on and super friendly. Love it. Food is yummy with plenty of options. I enjoy having breakfast, lunch, or dinner here. Their sandwiches are delicious and they have some pretty yummy dessert options as well. Definitely a favorite spot in town; thank you!

Excellent food, service and a very cozy cabin ambiance. We got the Monte Cristo sandwich and the daily special, prime rib omelette, both were perfect. One of the best mountain town restaurants in the San Bernardino mountain range. Definitely recommend!

I loved this cute mountain restaurant and it's amazing breakfast food. I was immediately sold on the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious. After starting with those, I also got the Tim sandwich, which was a grilled chicken, avocado and jack cheese toasted on garlic parmesan bread. Absolutely amazing and everything I want in a sandwich. My vegetarian boyfriend ordered an omelette and hash brown. We were stuffed and I still brought home half the meal!

Prime rib, beer batter onion rings, asparagus, green beans and carrots sautéed (underneath the garlic bread) .

My daughter and I drove up from Lancaster (about an hour away) on a Thursday for their prime rib special. It was $28.95 and so worth it. My daughter had the Salmon ($24.95). Each meal came with choice of salad or soup. I chose the broccoli soup. It had tender chucks of broccoli and was really good. The prime rib was cooked perfectly for me (medium rare). My daugenjoyed her salmon and the New York cheesecake for dessert. Our server was Haley R and she was amazing. Very friendly, very attentive. Highly recommend stopping by there for food & great service from Haley!!

My guy and I have been real estate hunting for some additional property. And have been exploring several areas. We've never been to wrightwood so we dropped by this evening and happened upon the Grizzly Cafe. The cafe food portion and gift shop are attached to be another. We ordered the soup of the day and mozerella sticks, coffee and hot teas. All arrived quickly and yummy. Afterwards went shopping in the gift shop to look for salt and pepper shakers. So many cute ones are perfect Xmas gifts. Such a cozy and warm holiday experience. Will return. Would love to see the fireplace lit as well in the cafe on these cold winter nights. Thanks guys!

What a great location in Wrightwood! I was visiting the area while my son went snowboarding so I checked Yelp for a place to go have a drink/some food while I waited. There are not tons of choices, but so glad I found this place! When I got there I saw a table outside with christmas decor at 70% off, some really lovely items. I got a couple of snowflake ornaments. They also have a super cute gift shop inside the restaurant. I asked the girl at the front if I could have a table near an outlet and she accommodated me at a 4 person table, which I thought was very nice. My server was amazing! She let me take my time at the table while I enjoyed a couple glasses of wine, then I ordered some food, and she always checked on me and told me not to rush. Menu was huge, so many selections. Wine was a great deal at $7 a glass and I ordered a club sandwich which was so yummy and huge. I only had half and gave my son the rest, it really was enough for two people. Also got the fruit cup and that was good, had a variety like melon, orange, grapes, etc. I'll have to come back for breakfast next time. Awesome place for good food and great service!

My 3 friendly dogs

Disappointed by New Dog Policy I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have always brought my 3 well-behaved, leashed dogs without any issue. It's been one of our favorite spots. However, on my most recent visit--after driving 45 minutes to get there--I was told by the manager that only service dogs are now allowed. When I explained our history with the place, she simply said, "I don't know who's been allowing it, but it's service dogs only now." I understand that rules can change, but there was no notice, and the way it was handled felt dismissive. If you're a dog owner looking for a pet-friendly spot, unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this one.

Was super sad to have just missed breakfast so this review is on their lunch. The inside is cozy (cabin vibes) and is connected to a cute store. Service was warm and great. Got the grizzly burger with coleslaw and their fish and chips (comes with fries and coleslaw). Portions are pretty big. The fries were amazing - super crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The batter on the fish was light, which I loved but was overall a bit bland (the tartar sauce you can dip it in is good though). The burger and coleslaw were solid too - just wish we got the thousand island sauce on the side because it was a bit much on the burger. Overall, would come back when we're in the area to try their breakfast!

Great food and service. The fries were perfectly cooked. Sandwich was terrific. Nicely decorated, cozy place to have a meal at.

Went to Mtn High one Saturday morning. Decided to check out this place before we left and were not disappointed! We were a party of 5. Three adults and 2 children. We got there about 30-45 before dinner. We were seated within minutes of walking in. The waitress was very nice. All of the staff were nice. Because we arrived between lunch and dinner, not all of the dinner items were available. We decided to order appetizers while we waited 30 mins before we ordered so we could get dinner which I believe started at 4. Everything we ordered was delicious! Even the kids' pasta looked good. The serve large portions, so bring your stretchy pants! Next time I'm in town I plan to swing by again. Typing this up now is making my mouth drool!

Ask the Community - Grizzly Cafe

Hi! Do you allow dogs on the outdoor patio for lunch? Planning on visiting tomorrow!

Sorry, Our patio is closed due to cold weather at 6,000 feet.

Do you have wifi at the cafe?

Sorry, we do not have wifi.

Do they serve breakfast all day?

We serve breakfast until 11:30.

Do you take reservations?

Sorry, we do not. Thank for your question

Why did I get charged a $16 service charge for 4 adults?

Not sure why there was a service charge. Please let me know the date when your party was the Grizzly…

Is their sitting area open as Jan 2021?

It will open Jan 29, 2021

Is it pet friendly? Do you have to sit outside?

I have brought my dog twice and I have to leash her up and tie her to the front. They give you water for your dog but no dogs allowed even outside in the back. I would definitely leave my dog home.

I'll admit, the initial smell reminded me a little of an old Las Vegas casino, but don't let that fool you. This is the only true sit-down restaurant in town, and if you're looking for a romantic dinner, this is the spot. We arrived right at opening, and the bar already had regulars enjoying their evening. We were seated in the main dining room, where it was just us, and another party of four. Kara, who greeted us, was bubbly, personable, and welcoming. Our server, Alicia, was equally wonderful. Both ladies were knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and incredibly attentive. They had that sixth sense of knowing what we needed before we even had to ask. We ordered a nice variety to share: the tempura, seasonal fire-roasted artichoke, fried zucchini and squash, spinach salad, Malaysian shrimp, Pacific cod fish & chips, and the top sirloin steak. Honestly, we walked in with zero expectations, but this small-town steakhouse really delivered. The food was delicious, but the service stood out as truly top notch. Kara and Alicia made the experience memorable, and for that reason alone, we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

It was a challenge getting into the lot from the west side because of incoming cars going super fast but luckily there's plenty of space to pull into and park since the whole lot was huge. There's no lines dividing the cars so we parked with other cars to line ourselves up. The place looks quite small, but super adorable and I feel such at home, super welcoming staff and the decorations and fall color scheme really pops your eyes to want to touch everything (but you shouldn't)! We were a large group of 8 and luckily they had a large table for us all, the staff were super nice. Christina and her son were always super helpful and attentive, it got really busy during lunch hour and they always made sure we got everything. We ordered a few dishes to share because we had breakfast not long ago, we got the fried chicken dinner, club sandwiches, and pasta with meat sauce. I enjoyed the fried chicken, super crispy, juicy and tender meat, the flavor is wonderful and not too salty. Also me and my dad appreciated the sautéed fresh vegetables instead of mushy steamed ones most places have! Shoestring fires were great I love the thin fries better! I think the dinner rolls were super soft, chewy, and fluffy, goes so well with their yellow butter. Pasta was delicious, super herby and you can tell they used plenty of vegetables and ground meat to make it hearty! The place was such a gem, I felt like we didn't get much time to enjoy everything since it was supposed to be a quick lunch! Definitely would recommend and will come back when we are in the area. Restrooms were available to customers and clean!

It was a bit hard to find at first because there is no cell service in this area, and even the GPS in my new car was having issues finding it. That being said, we finally did and it really is a quaint little mountain mini market with a small café attached. There are a few rentable cabins and ground camping available there as well, with bathrooms for camping provided. We met the owner, Adam, who was very nice, however he didn't come until about 10 minutes after we arrived, so we were standing in there for a bit. The building itself was originally constructed in the 1930s, but has been this café since 2002. We did not get a chance to try the café because we had breakfast prior to driving up, but I've heard that they're chili is good and I plan to drive back up in the next couple weeks to try it. The owner mentioned that he had been receiving fewer visitors this year due to rising gas prices, which made me sad to hear. Overall, I would recommend if you are visiting Crystal Lake and it seems quite popular to stop for coffee on the way up or down the mountain. Would also be a good resource if you are camping in the area.

Upon arrival, we informed the host that our party of five included our 10 month old miniature dachshund. We were told pets were welcome and that the wait would be approximately 20-30 minutes. Once seated on the patio, we were asked to keep our puppy on the ground rather than on our laps due to hygiene concerns, which we completely understood and immediately complied with. Our puppy did bark occasionally, and we were actively trying to keep her calm with treats while remaining mindful of those around us. After ordering our second round of drinks, our waitress approached us and informed us that her manager wanted our dog to leave because of her barking. My issue isn't that her barking was addressed, but how the situation was handled. We were never given a warning or an opportunity to correct the behavior before being told she needed to leave. Had someone communicated their concerns beforehand, we would have gladly stepped away or made adjustments. What made the situation even more disappointing was that the manager couldn't come speak to us directly and instead left our waitress to deliver the message. She was incredibly kind and apologetic, even acknowledging that a child repeatedly running and dancing nearby appeared to be getting our puppy excited. She apologized again when we requested our tab and made it clear that this was management's decision. We understand that being dog-friendly doesn't mean allowing disruptive behavior, but basic communication and courtesy go a long way. We've visited plenty of dog-friendly establishments and have never experienced anything like this. Our waitress was wonderful, but management's lack of professionalism and communication left a bad taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, we won't be returning
