I love this place. It's right on the main drag but seating areas are full of fun. Nice lights upscale seating, an upper deck with unrivaled people watching. Sadly, they only had Pinot Grigio and Sau Blanc for whites. Essentially the same thing bi went with the Sau. The lesser of two evils. Still worth it read more

Great spot right by the pier. We saw it right when we walked off our cruise ship. Nice for people watching. Super friendly bartender. Highly recommend for good service. They need a better variety of drafts. All were pale ales except one red ale. No wheat/lighter beers, no stouts. They do have a good variety of cans. All in all I recommend stopping in to get a drink and chill. read more

Cute place with outdoor space and fire pits in the heart of downtown. Great to gather a big group and mingle, easy to find on the corner. Park downtown and walk. Lots of drink options including canned cocktails for people who want something that's easy to order but not beer. read more

After dinner near by we stopped at this bar for some drinks, as it usually is in Juneau it was a drizzly evening with light rain & cool temps. For drinks we ordered the Hot toddy this was perfect for the night as we sat by the fire, good music playing. The bar over looks the pier & water at night it was nice since the fire pits are on great to just relax & enjoy some music & cocktails. We stopped by here, after a tour, before getting back on that big ol' cruise ship. The atmosphere is laid back, it's an open air bar with fire pits. People gather in the various areas chatting, enjoying a cigar and having a grand time. Obviously the location is super convenient, but listen, the bar keeper is more than just a drink slinger, she's a great chat. If you get a chance to slip into the gate, take a load off and knock a few back... do it! I recommend this cocktail, I can't remember the name of it, but it has absinthe and elderflower liqueur. It's a deliciously refreshing adult beverage. Pro tip: Only order your Bloody Mary spicy if you mean it. read more

Nice little outdoor bar right near the Port of Juneau. It's definitely open more on a seasonal basis and as we are in late November now(we were there in mid September) lots of places in this area close until winter starts easing off and the cruise ships start returning. Lots of guest taps of local Alaskan beers("local" being perhaps a considerable distance since we are talking about Alaska) which was exciting to see and trying some beer that we can't normally get back home was a plus. Despite this bar being outdoors there is shelter to sit under and keep warm with fires that are lit. It's actually quite cozy and you can enjoy the beautiful view too! The Griz is also very LGBT friendly which is always a good thing to see but most of downtown Juneau is LGBT friendly so you are going to feel welcome practically anywhere you go downtown. read more

Great open air place to stop by for a beer and right next to the cruise ship docks in Juneau. Even if it is pouring rain (which it was), they have tarps and gas fire pits to take the chill off. Good selection of beers on tap with a friendly bartender. Their signature shot is a "bear fart." (Don't ask... it's a Juneau thing. But it tastes better than it sounds...) Great place to grab a beer before boarding your cruise ship. It would be even more epic when it's not racing. Highly recommend it! read more

What a FANTASTIC outdoor bar! We were on an RC cruise and had a couple of hours before having to get back on the Ovation, and the sight of this unique venue drew us in. Had some great drinks (and shots!) served by a wonderful bartender - I don't remember her name, but in telling us about her story, she grew up in Juneau, traveled around the country (I do remember her mentioning being in Philadelphia), and then found herself back in Juneau and at the Griz. Also met some great people at the bar - a family from Maryland who was also on the cruise and a couple from Seattle on vacation - chance meetings that added a memorable flavor to the overall experience of the Griz and Juneau. Stopping here was definitely a superb way of topping off our day and our experience in Juneau! read more

This is easily one of the best bars in Juneau. Its simple outdoor location is one of the top spots in town to meet up with other locals.

Fun place to warm up on a brisk Juneau afternoon, luv the fire pits, down side is chairs a little low, had a nice stout, did not get the waitress name but she was on point, a taco truck is next door that's another review. Perfect spot for outdoor happy hour on a sunny Juneau day. The views are spectacular: snow capped mountains, water everywhere, boats, and float planes. Fire pits for when it gets chilly. For drinks, I only had the Juneauper, a canned grapefruit gin and tonic made by an excellent local gin distillery. Very tasty. Nice energy from the bartender as well! read more

This place is pretty great. On a warm sunny Juneau afternoon, this is the place to stop and grab a beer or cocktail. Just across from the cruise ship dock I bet this place is going to get busy! 6 taps, tons of local canned beers, lots of booze and friendly staff.
