They have a wide rate of gift items that you can personalize with a monogram. Their selection ranges from stuffed animals to Linen to purses to name a few. One of the staff members also highlighted , that you can bring items from outside the store. I that was good to know. When you personalize an item, it makes it more special in my opinion. The girl who helped me showed me some fonts, and I chose one. But before signing, I explicitly asked if the letter 'T' was going to look like it had two horns. She told me absolutely not, and that their sample was outlined and curved. So I agreed. My husband went to pick it up, and OMG, how can I put something on my bed that looks like a devil's pitchfork? Just look at the picture and tell me if it doesn't look like a devil's horn. So I took it back. The same girl even agreed with me when I took it there. She was very nice, took it to the back, and came back saying they could fix it. I even chose another font, and she said they were going to call me. Later, they texted me saying they could remove the horns for free. But when I called, she completely changed her story. She stated she never promised they would redo it, and that the price was non-negotiable! She didn't even offer a discount; she actually wanted to charge me more--$20 to remove the horns from each cover, and $50 to remake the other one. That is the worstcustomer care I have ever seen. They normally charge $45, but to fix their own mistake, they wanted to charge $50! Really! I am never going back there again, and I will not recommend them to anyone. Ah! And when I went to pick up they had the sample font on the wall. They know they were the wrong ones!! Ps: I knew they were gonna have an "excuse" and reply... I WAS AWARE ABOUT THE POLICY. That's why I asked before signing! So if you say you are an Expert... you could have warned me and not said it would not have a horn! I cannot believe that Marigold - Gateway to India was on S. Lamar when I lived on S. Lamar. Walking into the shop felt like being transported to Bangalore or Rajasthan, India. Marigold is rooted in vibrant color, texture, and uniquely Indian pieces. The overhead draped colorful cloth added to the ambience. The store offers a curated selection of Indian clothing, jewelry, accessories, and gifts. The quality and variety of the merchandise was immediately noticeable. From traditional and contemporary clothing for women, men, and children to unique accessories and decorative pieces, everything feels authentic. Lata, the owner, was super nice and welcoming! I had been driving around for a while searching for some really beautiful vintage dresses and shoes. I walked the whole store, and it can be dangerous for my wallet, but in my world, fashion is a must! So let's live on the edge. Her reason was that she didn't want us taking up space for "real" customers. No explanation beyond that, no alternative offered, even after I responded to her question about whether or not the Girl Scouts would be spending money at her store. (Yes, she actually asked me that. My response was that they were all instructed to bring $30 but it was up to them to choose to spend it at her store or not.) As someone who reached out in good faith, I found the interaction dismissive and unwelcoming. The customer experience was a stark contrast to the warm, community-focused image the business owner projects. If you're a school group, troop, or youth organization looking for a welcoming community partner and experience in Austin, I'd look elsewhere. Imagine being a female owner of a community-focused business and NOT partnering with Girl Scouts. Mind blown.
