On September 25, I visited Lola Beans and paid for my order using Apple Pay. The transaction…read moreinitially appeared to go through successfully. Afterward, an employee/manager came back and told me that the transaction was only pending and asked whether I still wanted my drink. I explained that I was willing to pay for my order, so I used Apple Pay again with the same card/account, and the second transaction went through successfully. What bothered me was the way the situation was communicated to me. I was told, "We can't give nothing for free because it's still pending." I never asked for anything for free, nor did I suggest that I wasn't going to pay. I had already attempted to pay for my order, and when I was told there was an issue with the first transaction, I immediately paid again.I am now being told that I have to wait for the original pending transaction to return to my account. This means I currently have two transactions associated with the same order, with one still pending. Even after this interaction, I still left a tip because I was not trying to avoid paying for my order. I simply wanted to receive what I had paid for without being made to feel as though I was asking for something for free. I understand that pending card transactions can happen and that the business may need to verify payment. However, I feel the situation could have been handled much more respectfully. The statement about not giving me anything for free was unnecessary because I never requested anything for free. I would appreciate clarification regarding the pending transaction and confirmation that I will not ultimately be charged twice for the same order.

It was very clean inside and there was alot of natural lighting which I liked. I came with a friend here for brunch and we had a good time. I ordered the Spinach Feta Womelette and an Iced Vanilla Latte with oat milk. The latte was good, it wasn't spectacular but it was decent. The spinach feta womelette was tasty and more filling than I thought it would be. At first, I didn't know what a "womelette" was, my first thought was that it was a women's omelette. But we realized that it meant a waffle omelet lol. My friend and I also shared a Stuffed Nutella waffle which was so delicious that I was so tempted to order another one. The staff were kind and very friendly. The cafe has a nice ambiance to read, study, or simply hangout.
