Him and his team work carefully to not damage anything around the area and clean up well after their work is done. They are very careful in their work and I will point out (because a lot of people cannot get tiling right) that his tiling work is quite good. When it comes to pricing, he is very fair and very transparent. Supplies are not marked up, and your quotes will usually have labor and supplies separate. His pricing is handyman style, in that quotes are labor, and then he or you or both get the needed supplies and add that in at cost. He is an honest guy and chooses very good supplies that are not the cheapest throwaway garbage, but are a solid quality at a lower price point. He knows all the brands and models and places to go to get the right parts that last but do not cost a ton. He is always open to discussing different options and giving you the pros and cons of each. One thing to note, Manny has gotten very popular over the years and has a lot of projects going. If you have a super tiny project, like just fixing a doorknob or replacing a faucet, he is probably not the guy for you due to his availability. After grilling…read moreother drywall contractors to ferret-out who we would retain on our personal residence, Jerod Ketchum (owner of JK Drywall) was the only player willing to work as part of a design/build team on our very challenging re-model. There was a lot of custom structure and fabrication work requiring drywall. There was no text book for what was to be done so everything custom had to be improvised along the way. I found him to be very flexible and eager to work as a team player. It is extremely difficult to find contractors with this type of demeanor and aptitude. He's an expert at matching textures. Part of the scope of work involved full replacement a large ceiling with a Level 5 finish, the most challenging drywall installation of them all which involves no texture, but a smooth as silk finish. The end result of this work was total perfection. The ceiling has a satin like eggshell paint finish in a room that has lots of big windows facing the noon sun/lots of light. No flaws are visible anywhere. Mr. Ketchum babysat this project beginning to end even helping coordinate paint contractors to ensure the job was completed perfectly. I drove Mr. Ketchum harder that any other contractor would have endured. He responded by researching, and executing brilliantly. Every other contractor had told me that what I wanted wasn't possible. He makes use of modern technology like endoscopes, a drone, and a digital camera to provide evidence of his work. I hired Power Wash SD to do a very complicated and difficult job, refurbishing several areas of…read moreslate that accented 'colored stamped concrete' in our exterior hardscape. The slate had previously been sealed with liquid polyurethane (plastic) by a different contractor about 18mo prior. TRULY TERRIBLE IDEA! While it looked great for a few months, it gradually began to badly discolor, so after 1 year it looked pretty bad, and was only getting worse (see before photo). I contacted several slate companies, many of whom came out to look at the job. All agreed that power washing was the only 'possible' solution, but very few would even offer a bid to try to tackle removing the discolored plastic. They all: (1) feared it would be too difficult and time-consuming to remove, and (2) further feared that attempting to do so would completely destroy the underlying slate. THEY WANTED NO PART OF THIS JOB. I was truly stuck! I eventually found Power Wash SD through Yelp and met with Javier and Camilo. They agreed they would try to make it work. While Camilo quickly became 'absentee manager', Javier proved to be a real stud. He worked hard. He worked carefully. He cared immensely about the job he was doing and whether we, as customers, were pleased as he was progressing with the effort. In the end, Javier was able to correct a serious problem another contractor had caused and most other contractors feared. And once Javier carefully and successfully removed the discolored covering, he re-sealed the slate with a more appropriate "slate sealer" that brought out the initial beauty of the slate (see After photo). And... oh yeah... he beautifully cleaned up his work (and the removal was quite a messy affair) every evening before leaving work. And finally, Javier always had a smile on his face and welcomed feedback as he continued to toil to do what most thought was an impossible task. What more can one say? Seriously, what more need be said?
