Grimaldi's Pizzeria - Pizza Near Me - Fort Worth, Texas

Poorly managed location. Our family of 5 (including 2 toddlers and an infant) arrived for lunch at 11:50 AM on a Wednesday. We decided to order a full pizza, as the lunch special did not make sense for us. Apparently, that was a mistake, as it took 45+ minutes for our pizza to come after we ordered. It was horrifying seeing people who arrived the same time as us finish their meals and leave before we even got our pizza. Our waitress came up to us once after we waited 30 minutes for food asking if we're doing okay and if we needed more water. I was in disbelief; no acknowledgement of the delay? No offering of some other quick food to keep our family occupied while we waited? Nope, nothing. Business as usual I guess? I've never had to do this before, but it was taking so long for the food to come, I requested to speak to the manager, Emmanuel. I let him know this was unacceptable at a lunch hour to have this much of a delay, and if they knew a delay was expected for a full pizza, they should have warned us before we ordered. I told him to bring out any slices of pizza that they have ready as we can not wait any longer for food. Conveniently, our pizza was ready as soon as he went back in the kitchen, and he apologized when he brought it out. I only had 10 minutes to eat before I had to leave for a meeting, so I scarfed down 2 slices while feeding my toddler. Unpleasant lunch to say the least. To top it all off, even after acknowledging fault and the delay, they had the audacity to not comp or discount the pizza we waited nearly an hour for at lunch time. Needless to say, we won't patronize this Grimaldi's or any Grimaldi's. I will advise anyone else to steer clear of this location and chain and choose a local pizza restaurant instead. read more

First they got our order wrong Then the flies were all over the food We were given a napkin to cover our pizza from the flies Very gross atmosphere Paid a lot of money for a pizza that I didn't want Will never return read more

We frequent this location often. We Always sit on the side with the bartender as our server. He is AMAZING!!!! He has given us his name but we are both terrible at remembering. The service. Top notch. The pizza omg it is sooo amazing. The salads are plentiful and delicious. We love this place so much. My only complaint - I am a caprese lover and I wish they used heirloom tomatoes instead of plain. I would gladly pay more!!! read more

Let's start with the warm fuzzy - the food was delicious, there was 3 of us in our party and we had a spring salad and two pizza's - highly recommend - here's the cold prickly - the service was absolutely atrocious, the worst I've experienced in years - we were sat for our 6:30pm reservation in the back corner of the restaurant - no problem, a table is NORMALLY a table - we watched other guests after us get sat AND waited on - in fact, an 8-top was sat right next to us, 10 minutes after our arrival and our assigned waitress went to them first (for the record, when she went to get the 8-top water and take their drink orders, we did NOT know she was our waitress....she had yet to acknowledge us)......when our drink order was finally taken it took almost 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive....it was NOT busy on this Saturday night, restaurant was 60% filled......the waitress came over to our table twice before our pizza arrived telling us it would be a "just a few more minutes"......at no time, did she ask us if we wanted more drinks, despite the fact our glasses were empty - I literally had to walk up to the bar and order a glass of cab for my girlfriend - I do think it was a combination of our location in the restaurant and the fact our waitress was completely clueless......we'll definitely return to Grimaldi's in the future, but will never set foot in this location again....what should have been an enjoyable early Mother's Day celebration turned into an incredibly frustrating and unenjoyable evening read more

Terrible service. We waited over 15 minutes for someone to come by and simply ask what we wanted to drink, but no one ever did. We even flagged down an employee, who assured us that someone would be with us shortly. Nobody showed up. After continuing to wait with no service, we decided to leave. As we got up and walked out, not a single employee acknowledged us or even cared. It was as bad as service can get because there was no service at all. It seems like this is a running theme with this restaurant based on the reviews and the management/owner clearly doesn't care to address it. Zero stars if I could. read more

The food is always good. The atmosphere is also good, though it can get loud. Service...this is where this place suffers. We've been in several times over the years and it's always hit and miss. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's rushed and uncoordinated. It doesn't seem to matter if the place is busy or not. I guess the best way to go into this establishment is to have zero expectations from the start. read more

Hey man, I don't know why this place has such low reviews. Really doesn't make sense to me. I used to live in Brooklyn and would go to the original Grimaldi's every chance I got, so when I found out there was one down here in Fort Worth (which was today lol), I placed an order as soon I could. I noticed a lot of reviews about how the pizza was burnt or the toppings were minimal - I don't know, that wasn't my experience at all. Honestly, this pie was the closest I've come to finding a strong New York slice. My only issue was that the pie is a bit overpriced, but I'm not gonna throw any stones. I've tried lots of pizza wherever I travel in an attempt to find something even remotely similar to what I used to eat back home in Brooklyn, and this one got surprisingly close, especially as far as Texas is concerned. Overall, I recommend, and will definitely be ordering again. read more

The food was okay. the service was absolutely horrible. We had to wait 20 minutes just to order our drinks. than the food came out pretty quick but they got my order wrong. I asked for a gluten free chicken and bacon. They gave me a gluten and meatball. I never asked for that. I had to wait 35 minutes just to get my pizza after everybody ate their food. They only had 1 server in the whole restaurant. please avoid this restaurant. read more

Second time here and it didn't disappoint. We had the extra pepperoni with hot honey and it was the bomb!! We got the largest one and ate the whole thing (just 2 of us!). Friends got 1/2 margarita- 1/2 pepperoni hot honey and you guessed it... all gone as well! Service was good and it's kind of a cool place, just a little pricey for pizza. Also recommend going next door afterwards for gelato!! read more

Didn't like how the old lady at the front treated me but the bartender guy was awesome. I guess if you come by yourself you can't sit at a table anymore so she just asked if I was picking up and I said no just wanna eat and she just pointed at the bar. Pizza was soo damn good I like how I'm able to mix two pizzas for one single price that was cool. read more

Pizza is amazing, hands down. One of the only doughs in town that doesn't mess with our digestive tracks. HOWEVER, the only times we've experienced DECENT service, is non peak Times. It's sad. We would frequent more often but the service is never up to our standards... if you want a good tip in this economy, PLEASE for the love of god, be nice to your customers and frequently check on them. More and more are people going to be picky about where they spend their money these days... if you want it to be with you, you must follow thru on why people should be spending their money at your business. Best of luck! read more

Grimaldi's is some top-notch pizza! We tried the Lemon Arugula salad, Margherita pizza and Exxtra Pepperoni & Hot Honey pizza, and all were very tasty. The service was great too. My drink stayed full without asking and the server was friendly. All in all a great experience! read more

Horrible experience. I called and placed an order for a whole Oreo cheesecake 24 hours in advance. I was told it would be ready and drove over an hour to pick it up. When I get there, I waited and waited and was told it would be a few minutes. Later, someone named Keith came out and said I had to order it 48 hours in advance and so they didn't have it. Keep in mind no one told me this before and told me it would be ready. He was very rude and basically just said "sorry my we don't have it. There's nothing else to tell you". This was for a birthday and it's crated such an issue. I am so disappointed in grimaldis, as we frequently visit. I'm most upset about the horrible customer service that was shown today. Zero care for customers. read more

i placed the order online for pick up. I was given a wait time of 50 minutes. I went to the restaurant right on time only to be told he the hostess that apparently there is a 1.5hour window each day that the ovens "self-clean" and aren't operable. I supposedly placed my order right in the middle of this time frame and now my pizza wouldn't be ready for at least another 30 minutes. No online notifications. Oddly, there were patrons in the restaurant all with fresh pizzas, even though the ovens were out of service during that same time. I don't enjoy being mislead or made to return quite a bit later because of the errors. I live in the area and will no longer give my $ to the place. read more

Giving this place 1 star review as I've gone there multiple times now for dinner and cannot be seated because they are "stoking the ovens" I understand this is sometimes that must be done, I guess daily, but you'd think that 1) they could allow you to be seated if you weren't ordering pizza, 2) be able to tell you when they'd be seating again and 3) just close, or time it better, if you aren't going to be able to seat people while this occurs during dinner time. The hostess was rude, outwardly annoyed when I asked how long the wait may be, and generally not pleasant to engage with. Given that's the first and in some cases only experience people are having with this restaurant you'd think it would be handled differently. Multiple people came in before and after me, so this was the experience of many people on that evening. Sadly I've never had their food so I cannot speak to that but the customer service is awful! I can only speak to the initial ambiance I encountered, which as noted was awful, but from my view it looked like if you were seated it could be very enjoyable past the hostess. read more

Finally made it in for the first time. We had the Brooklyn Bridge and the kids had a half and half cheese/pepperoni. We were greeted by very friendly staff and management. Waiter was on top of it! Kids got a ball of dough to play with at the table. The decor and furnishings put us right in New York City. Great ambiance. First place in ages in which I added the app and 'signed up' for rewards. I will be coming back. read more

Was refused a to go order 40 minutes before close with four tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Server said that he couldn't make our pizza before they close so they weren't allowed to serve us. He acted nervous like he should take our order but just didn't want to. read more

it's alright. first time going and we went when it wasn't so busy, maybe 3 other tables. My sister ordered the ceaser salad and it came out a good like 15 minutes before the rest of our food so that was a bit awkward. Speaking of that, it took a bit longer than expected for our actual pizza to come out considering the crowd. I got a margherita pizza and although yummy, came out a bit burnt -- nothing like what a margherita should look like in my opinion. I asked our server what would serve 2 people and he said the medium. it was huge and we could only finish half of it. read more

First off, the server did a great job. I didn't catch his name, but he kept coming by to make sure I was okay. I ended up ordering a mushroom pizza and it was good. This pizza isn't what I'm used to, but it's NY style so it's much thinner. The slices were big. There wasn't too much sauce or cheese. It was just right. This is also a good option if you're looking to watch your calories. read more

Great pizza! We came on Labor Day and they were not prepared. Ere was only one waitress and a bartender that was doubling as a waiter. We did have to go on a waitlist despite the place being half full as a result. Good service though. Once we were seated, we got drinks and order in pretty quickly. We got two pizzas. One with pepperoni and sausage and the other was a white garlic pizza. The white garlic had great garlic flavor. I would definitely order than again. Would have loved to put a picture? However, it was so delicious, ate it before. I had a chance to take the picture. Came in at noon on valentine's day and no problems. Sat at the bar and Luis was bar tender and waiter. He was fabulous. We ordered the Don pizza and it was absolutely one of the best Italian flavors I've ever had period their house. Can't review anything other than the service...because the bartender never acknowledged us. So we finally just left and went next door. Mt husband went to bathroom came back and we sat even longer just waiting for a "hello" but she kept to herself and flat out ignored us. It's not like it was a packed night. Sunday at 7:00. One couple at the bar. Restaurant had plenty of people but not a full house. This location has got be the worst ran restaurant in existence. The pizza is delicious but the service is terrible. My family and I have tried to eat there 5 times in the last year and never can because their air conditioning is broken, they are not staffed at the front of the house or they don't have any cooks in the kitchen. It's become a running joke with my family as to what will be the excuse next time we step in to try and spend money there. Today we thought we'd give it one more shot after seeing the Michael Jackson movie we stopped by, the doors were open and we were greeted by a friendly staff member., however when we said we like to be seated she said their kitchen is closed daily between 3&4. lol.. okay. Nowhere on their website does it state this. It's just so poorly ran. And if your kitchen is closed daily why are your doors unlocked? Grimaldis the franchise really should reconsider who they are letting use their name and great pizza recipes cuz this location is not doing it justice!!! read more

Really nice pizza. But $2/topping means it should have more than two slices of onion and two mushrooms. Come on Updating this review: pizza is good. Never going to include decent amount of vegetable toppings I think, but it's still good pizza. Salads are okay not great. But gooood pizza. read more

My son and I went to dine in at this establishment. The decor and ambiance is very 90s New York pizzeria. The staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered the house salad and a 12 inch pepperoni and cuatro formaggio pizzas. The food came out quickly however, the pepperoni was cold in the center and soggy. I was expecting a hot crispy pizza. The sauce left something to be desired. The cheese pizza was very delicious and served slightly warmer. Overall the cost was $66. I wasn't impressed and the sticker price didn't reflect the taste of the food. read more

Let's call it awful just to be clear from the start. Gave name and number for 30 minute wait even though there were empty tables. Arrived for dinner, two guys at hostess stand acted like they didn't know what they were doing, one was trying to find tables available the other put my party on a wait list on an IPad with my phone number. Received a text that I was on the waitlist. Went to bar to wait but noticed manager started seating people who were walking in the door. Went back to hostess stand and asked the guy who put me on list for update and he said I was second on list. Again watched the manager come up and seat people walking in door. Went back to hostess stand and asked Manager about my name on waitlist. He stated "we don't have a waitlist right now" I proceeded to tell him that I was put on waitlist by that guy ( and pointed). That guy walked up and I asked him about what manager said and all he could reply was "I bad". Manager was extremely rude and still didn't try and seat us instead seating people walking in door. I have always had good service here before this but this manager needs to go!! Not a good look for y'all who own Grimaldi's. I wont be back! read more

We visited for the first time last night and I couldn't wait to tell everyone about it. I love to read the worst Yelp reviews before I eat somewhere new. They're usually a decent indicator of the truth. This was no different. If a pizza joint with a coal burning pizza oven has feedback that says stuff like 'so much char I couldn't eat it' or 'crust was so thin I had to get something else to eat', you should definitely give it a try. These are the same people who say their ice cream is too cold and their pretzels are too salty. This was the perfect environment, perfect pizza, perfect service. We were seated right away. Our server, Kennedy, was friendly and attentive. The pizza was crazy delicious. It still is. We took most of it home and I'm eating it for breakfast as I type this. It was equally delicious cold in the middle of the night. The last time I had pizza cooked in a real pizza oven, the char was great but the bottom was soggy in the middle. Not at Grimaldi's. It's perfection. The manager, Harrison, stopped by our table a few times to check in. Very nice young man. Please ignore reviews written by people upset that young employees are having a great time at work. I think some people live their life in a bad mood and try to find things to bitch about. If you go in looking for something negative, you'll always find it but that's a sad way to go through life. I see many more visits in our future and I don't expect them to all be perfect. read more

This was a horrible experience, I went for a quick lunch it was only four customers which should have alarmed me. I ordered Ceaser salad with chicken which shouldn't have been hard with a glass of wine and water with lemon. The order was wrong. The only thing that was right it had chicken on it.
