Wow, what an awesome buffet. I was born and raised in Ft. Worth and have enjoyed Mama's Pizza for decades. Their pizza, especially the outside of the crust brushed with garlic and oil takes their pizza over the top. Their crust is SO delicious. My wife and I were in the Ridglea area running some errands. Our tummies let us know it was time to fuel up! We were right by Mama's Pizza, and it was beckoning us to stop in and enjoy the buffet. First off, the salad bar is outstanding, there is so much variety to choose from. I made myself an awesome salad topped with a phenomenal Italian dressing. It was so delicious and a perfect way to start the buffet experience. The buffet had a nice selection of 7 different pies. Each and every one of them was up to Mama's Pizza standards that I've come to expect. Each bit was a symphony in my mouth and on my tongue. There was plenty of sauce and the outside of the slice had that awesome garlic oil mixture brushed on it. It was so delicious. I wanted to go back several times, but my wife was giving me "the look" so I decided I'd really had enough. Heck, I wanted to save room for the piping hot delicious cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were hot and ooey gooey just like they're supposed to be. I wanted another one but resisted. What an incredible buffet experience! I've been coming here for years. Trending in the wrong direction. Started packing up the buffet at 1 last visit (ends at 2) noting that if we weren't ok with what was out "that was it." Just ordered full pizzas instead, which was more expensive. I guess that's the point. Completely unsympathetic staff as I was there with 3 kids. Cici's is more accommodating. Decent for to go but it's just door dash with all the fees that implies. You can probably do better. 2 stars because the pizza is (usually) good. read more

So, as you know last week I had gluten-free Pizza. My friend was saying, if you have pizza, it better be good pizza. Lol. So, when she said that, I knew to take her to Mama's Pizza! Long story, short she loved it! She told me several times how much she like it and she's going to bring her family here! Mommas Pizza is a large restaurant. Overall, it's pretty clean, dark and cool in there. The music is cranked really loud and the playlist varies from Country, 80's and 90's. You will experience a bit of nostalgia. I get vintage vibes when I come here because, the tables, chairs, and tile are not modern. They also have a few video games and a large party room available. Pizza was delicious with a soft garlic buttery hearty crust. The Mozzarella Cheese was gooey and the Pizza sauce was flavorful. If you haven't checked out Mommas Pizza. Chicken, bacon, red onion, mozzarella cheese, shredded American cheese, bbq sauce. $25.00" Instead, what I got (after waiting for an hour) was a snot-nosed teenager's jokey interpretation of a keto pizza. On the bottom, an ice-cold, poorly cut flatbread. On top was cold, non-keto bbq sauce (sweeter than candy) slathered sloppily, and enough jalapeños to feed a small family, sliced for my convenience. It had been a while since I had a Mamas Pizza, so I gave it a try today for lunch. Ordered a large half pepperoni and half Italian sausage/jalapeno. The pizza was undercooked very doughy, the jalapenos were not cooked at all. Minimal toppings. TON of sauce. Very dissatisfied overall and seems it's very hit or miss now. The pizza has returned to its former glory! It was delicious. The salad bar was very nice, plenty of choices. The employees are very nice, fun, very busy serving up good pizza while cleaning and refilling the buffet. What could be better? Get rid of some booths and have tables and chairs. Booths kill my back plus all the pizza expanded our waistlines. Also, the dessert pizzas are awful. Hard crust with cinnamon, drenched in frosting. Not light and fluffy, just a sugary hard mess. I personally love Mama's and really wish they would open one in Austin, but that probably won't happen :-( Usually pretty busy in the evening, but we just get a pitcher of suds and kick back while we wait. Came in for the first time today at the tail end of their buffet time. Salad bar was fresh and constantly replenished. Several items to select from on salad bar. Love, love, love the crispy pizza crust. Sauce was lightly applied to eat piece and seasoned well. Thoroughly enjoyed what pizza was left and walked out very full and satisfied. I had a mini pizza with green bell peppers. It was really good, as I expect from Mama's pizza. My only complaint is that it could have used more sauce, otherwise they provided plenty of cheese and bell peppers. The pizza was $5.50 for the basic cheese mini pizza and 25 cents for one topping, plus tax. The staff is friendly and the place is kept clean. I highly recommend Mama's pizza. So much so that I had it catered for my 30th. Talk about gooey cheese, omg, look no longer. Had an extremely disappointing experience Aug 14 2022. We order a large Mamma's combo pizza & a order of cheese stix (specifically asking to have them come out as an appetizer) was actually reiterated & the young lady said oh yes they drop those first & your pizza takes longer to cook. We also got one soda & one water, well the Dr Pepper was totally flat. We receive our "cheese stixs" which were a cheese pizza without sauce & literally 30 seconds later we get the pizza. We mentioned we ordered cheese stixs & the gentleman (owner) rudely says that is our cheese stixs & walks away. We are completely disappointed with our whole experience & just ate our pizza & we both tasted a cheese stix & did not eat anymore was not at all what we wanted. Finally when I went up to get a box for our left over pizza I was completely ignored WHEN they were not busy. I am so sad that this is how they have chosen to run their business, we will NEVER return. Shame on them that is all the customer service that they could muster up. read more

So many words come to mind when I think of the situation: unprofessional, rude, inexperienced, amateurish, disrespectful... well you get the point. THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE LUNCH BUFFET - Well, and of their pizza too, I suppose. In short, for $9 (less if you're under the age of 14), you get access to the pizza buffet (usually 5-7 pies at any given time, and if you ask for something you don't see, they'll usually take care of you), the salad bar (small, but a nice add-on with iceberg/romaine as well as spinach, and 15-20 toppings, 6 dressings and some other goodies like pepperoni), and a fountain drink (Pepsi's version of the Coke Freestyle machine). That's a lot of options, food and beverage-wise for $9 bucks. I usually leave a buck for tip, 'cause I'm a nice guy and they do pick up after you. The pizza is fresh, and they are continually bringing out new pies. The Mama's pizza is well documented here, but again, it's thick, gooey and not for dieters. The buffet is dangerous from this standpoint, and a nap is usually necessary for me afterwards. Eat up, people, life is short and the Mama's lunch buffet is a winner. read more

Large hamburger pizza, pepperoni on half, 1 pitcher of beer - $26.50! This is a great lil pizza place, complete with salad, a few sammiches, and cold beer, but the hit here is the Pizza. Because Mama's website nor any of the other reviews on here included a buffet price, I had to go through alllllll the trouble of calling them. It's $7.50/person, sans drink. Compared to Cici's, the food here is better--more than enough to make up for that dollar difference in price. The crusts are delicious, garlicky, and edible. The ingredients taste fresh, and the cheese isn't that solid wax variety favored by Cicis. They are trying to appeal to a certain kind of clientele here, with big screen TVs blaring Fox News and sports, and tons of Texas crap on the walls. It was also evident in the pizza toppings available. While an effort was made to vary up the toppings (chicken barbecue, for example), I did not see any veggie pizzas. More of a meat 'n cheese food trough. But they also had cinnamon rolls!. They give you one cold plate for salad, and one regular one for pizza. After that, they have those scalloped paper plates for use. The environmentalist inside me thinks they should just skip the chilled plate altogether and just give you two normal plastic plates :] read more

I gotta be honest, I don't care for this place. But hear me out before you pick another review to read. My kid loves Mama's Pizza. So I end up there often to bring some home for her. My mother also thinks it's pretty great and they often share an order. So why write a review if I'm not a big fan? Well, the people at the store are always very friendly and as I said, I'm the odd man out when I say I don't care for it. Most of my family thinks it's great, but I'm the only one who Yelps regularly. Honestly I never really thought i'd leave a review but I guess i'll start. I got a supreme pizza from Mama's Pizza and my first impression of this place is very sloppy lazy workmen-ship. They only explanation is that they were lazy and literally just dumped the toppings favoring one side especially. The dough was soggy and pizza barely cooked in general. First let me start by saying that I have tried numerous times to give this place a chance. Ordering pizza via the app is absolutely trash. Every time I am given a time to show up and to pick up my pizza and I am still waiting 30 min or more and 3/3 times my order is wrong or missing items. The second and last time i swore I would never return was after realizing the pizza dough was still raw. I should have called to speak to the manager but I was so pissed off after waiting 45 min extra for my order. I told my wife that I was never going back to your place. Tonight I placed my order well in advance to be able to meet friends to watch the National Champion ship but as usual my order was not ready. There was a lady with a baby that had been waiting or an hour for her order and several other people that were there waiting even longer. The excuse given was that tonight was the big game and y'all were running behind. There was an elderly couple that had been waiting an hour and a half and I know that because she announced it in front of everyone and your staff just hid behind the counter.
