It looked really cool and neat, like something out of a geology kit turned into candy! But honestly, it wasn't as amazing as it sounded. The chocolate was super hard (almost like biting into a real rock at first), so it took some serious crunching. My daughter liked the novelty, but it wasn't her favorite. That said, I really enjoyed the smaller rock-shaped chocolate candies--they were much easier to eat and had a nice chocolatey taste without being overly tough. The store had a crazy variety of stuff in stock, which was awesome. They had chocolate-covered coffee beans (not the most exciting pick for everyone, but I was happy they were there and fresh), tons of different jelly beans in all flavors, and so many other treats to choose from. It's a great place if you love browsing and finding unique or classic candies. The selection kept us entertained for a while, and it's a fun family stop in the area. We'll definitely go back to try more things! Highly recommend for anyone with a sweet tooth looking for variety. Just maybe skip the giant rock chocolate unless you love a real workout for your jaw!

Restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and yes, even candy stores like this one. I stopped by this one with my daughter after lunch. She was excited, ran in ahead of me while I was still walking over from Dicks. By the time I walked in, she looked completely shaken. The woman behind the counter had accused her of stealing. My daughter hadn't even touched anything yet; she was just looking around, like any kid would. The only reason? She walked in without an adult. She came out of that store crying. Full-on tears. Over candy. Look, I've eaten at holes in the wall and five-star restaurants, and service always matters. It's one thing to keep an eye out for theft, it's another to treat a child like a suspect just for being alone for 30 seconds. We didn't buy anything. And we won't be back. There are plenty of places in Melbourne where you can get sweets and be treated with basic decency. From what I see in other reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one who thinks this way about this place. Will not come again, thank you!

There was a time when I was quite adament in Asian entertainment, and when I say that, I mean more…read morethan just the typical mainstream anime. I loved anime back in the early 90s when it was niche. I loved K-pop right before the cusp of the Hallyu Wave before 2005. I even enjoyed Chinese entertainment prior to its expansion thanks Viki and the late DramaFever. Though other busiesses came before and tried to implement Asian entertainment, Echo Arts and Gifts was the one that became the "mainstay" for it overall. So being one of the only locales in Brevard County to attain Asian entertainment, you'd think they'd be high in rating. Well... yes and no. They are good but they also fall short on other things, too. Echo Arts and Gifts (which I will shorthand to Echo for the remainder of this review) is a Asian entertainment and novelty shop located in the west side of Melbourne Square Mall. Ergo, take into account they are open and closed during mall operating hours. Inside, the store is divided as follows. The west wall has primarily Japanese entertainment media specifically centered around anime. This includes knick-knacks, toys, wall scrolls, special edition anime movies and series sets, and figurines (which I will come back to for a very important detail later in my review). The "floor" is primarily trad or historic Japanese (or Asian) furniture, housewares, etc. primarily made popular to the west thanks to their inclusion and respresentation in Asian entertainment. The East Wall has incense burners and the counter selling weaponry of an Asian preference. Think of swords, sais, nunchucks, etc. Finally, the "speakeasy" back room has row upon row of manga and other unique Asian finds. Also, the somewhat 18+ content may be back here. Nothing blatantly graphic, but your body pillows adorned with images of anime girls in skimpy lingerie are on display here. Overall, Echo is an excellent one-stop locale for all your Asian entertainment needs, but that is omitting two details: 1.) If you are not willing to shop around for Asian entertainment, than Echo works for you. There are stores and businesses that don't strictly cater to Asian entertainent that sell it at cheaper prices. This is the problem other big media businesses in the mall had. Fye, for example, sells a plethora of musical CDs, but, at the time, Walmart, Target, etc. sold what was popular at a better price. Suncoast Movie Company sold a plethora of movies, but once again, other places - specifically the ones mentioned for music - sell them cheaper, too. The same can be applied to Asian entertainment, especially if you don't mind a daytrip to Orlando. 2.) Some of their wares are bootleg. My sister definitely saw this as some of their figurines were bootleg and not official. I see that Echo has gotten better in spotting the fakes, but at the time when more than half their wall was bootlegs, I brought it up with an employee there and he gave me the audacity to say, "Some of the fakes look better than the official, so you should buy those instead." Listen, I do recognize that some fakes do look better than the official, but if I go to a place selling figurines and I want to buy one that is official, then I better not hear a pitch about buying bootlegs, at all. Besides all that, Echo is generally a good place for your Asian entertainment needs. I've been going here through the two major management changes via the OG whe Jackie was in charge, followed by Sarah. I don't know who is in charge now, but I know Sarah left awhile ago. Through those years, I will say that Echo hasn't changed much. Ergo, I will give them three out of five stars, which means they are on average, a-okay. Do they stand out? Well... not anymore, but they are still the go-to in the area, and despite their flaws, they still do a fairly good job bringing Asian entertainment options to the Space Coast.

When I went to check out, the counter girl told me that they didn't have enough time to blow up the balloons until after 2pm. I looked over and noticed about 5 employees chatting it up while they were all blowing up balloons. I asked if she could at least blow ONE ballon up for me. She said she would have to ask the manager. OMG. So at this point I'm frustrated as this is making no sense. So the manager named Yasmin waddles over to smugly tell me that they have can't blow up balloons until after 2 because they have too many ballon orders ahead of me. I again asked if she could "help me out" and just blow one up. I would bet it would have taken less then 30 seconds, and would have really saved the day for me. She said there was no way. That's a lie. My daughter was about to cry. So we left and I will NEVER buy from this place ever again.

Given the fact if her organization skills were linked to survival humanity would be extinct, she depended on two of my friends and I to organize it. We were going for a Big Bang (K-pop boy band) sushi party and trust me, there were enough generic knick-knacks and party props to make such a theme happen at Party City. It is located on US-192 or New Haven Avenue in the same shopping strip as Jo-Ann's Fabrics, and Kiki's Breakfast and Luncheon. Upon entering, you are greeted with a sheer amount of everything you can get for a party. As a matter of fact, I suggest going back more than one time just to really get a feel of what Party City has to offer. There are numerous rows that section what you may want. For example, one row may be for eating which includes numerous designs and forms of cutlery, napkins, plates, and cups. Another aisle might have small little party favors. Another aisle might have specialty balloons. And so on. Going down each aisle, we were able to buy just enough items to make her birthday a successful because Lord knows if she planned it, it would have been a train wreck or a complete disaster (as proven when she was given the role of planning for her husband's birthday). Ultimately, this place is a-okay. I don't do too many parties so I can't say if it is amazing or not, but for what it did provide, it did the job. Will definitely consider Party City a stop if I ever plan another birthday party.
