I don't know a single person that doesn't love Indian food. One of the best cuisines in the world for vegetarians. I have spent many moons in the Sub Continent of India. In the West.. Punjabi cuisine or N. Indian is most common yet if lucky you can find South Indian think more dosa, idili, etc. When you go out for Indian food you can't go wrong. How about Indian cooking at home...pick up an Indian Cookbook. Experiment w/ some recipes. From a simple dal, or aloo- potato dish or rice biryani to have some fun at home w/ the cooking. At an Indian market is the best place to stock supplies. In Brevard County "Best India" market is the best place to stock up stock yr kitchen w/ all the necessary ingredients for Indian cooking. Spices, mango pickles, & various types of dal in various sizes. Numerous veggies including bitter gourd along w/ some frozen items. Kudos helpful staff & wide selection 4 yr Indian cooking needs. A unique offering at Best India is the Samosa that you shouldn't miss. Take it home to heat up in the toaster oven!

Our family went here while in a day trip from Winter Haven. My wife is Persian and we usually frequent spice stores when time permits. We visited Taste of India to find the staff friendly and inviting. There are various sources, snacks, and staples for an Indian pantry, including delectables and collectibles. We ended up buying spices, noodles, and desserts for the family (my wife got her black currant Ribena). Although the selection was good, the store was a bit smaller than some of the other stores we have visited, especially compared to the stores in Orlando. It was worth stopping in, the prices were decent. They have a refrigerated section, which was nice, but we expected a larger selection of produce available. There are a few other Indian markets near by that we didn't visit, so I can't compare, however it was adequate for a brief visit just to check it out.

This place is awesome. It is an all in one Indian shop. There is so much culture, cuisine, and awesomeness packed into this space. They have imported a little slice of Indian haven to the space coast. This is a locally owned shop. The gentleman greeted me when I entered and asked if I had any questions, I politely declined. I did have questions, but I wanted to wonder and look and touch and smell things, like a total 6 year old in a Toys R Us. This place had everything! Clothing, spices, meats, produce, gourmet foods, baked items, jewelry, candies, books, movies (Bollywood, y'all), and various other staples from India that I don't know names for or have the correct vernacular. Definitely a great place to check out, gain a bit of culture and knowledge, and they offer cooking classes. Seriously, this place is rad.

Frozen food products in the background with "custom spices and grains" in the containers. Need to try them eventually.

I love all Asian food and when I say that, I also include Indian food (I mean food from India not Native American for this review). The problem with Indian food is as I get older, my tolerance for certain spices seem to dwindle. Now I don't mean I can't handle spicy foods for I can eat the super hot wings at Buffalo Wild Wings all day. However, my body does not react so well with with heartburn followed by the "ring of fire" when I use the bathroom. Ergo, I now have to make my own Indian food or ask my friends who know more than I do to make it. Thanks to Best India, I can buy the ingredients necessary, specifically spices, to adjust Indian food to my current state. Located on Wickham Road right across from the hospital (or Harris for I can't remember at the moment), Best India is a pretty decent-sized specialty store that usually caters its fare to Indian tastes and preferences. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by rows and rows of spices and mixes. There are also kitchen utensils, groceries, pre-packaged foods, Indian entertainment (movies and television shows on DVD or Blu-ray), jewelry, and much more. I personally enjoyed getting the Indian version of chocolates and candy bars. Since they use real sugar cane, the taste is so much more different but, in my opinion, far more superior. There also seems to be a classroom. Upon asking the person working at the time, I found out they do classes to teach people how to cook Indian food. I find that very interesting because Indian food in general is a delicate balance of spices utilizing to two forms of "spiciness" which is the initial spice and the lasting spice. Trust me, I've eaten Indian food that did not take this balance in consideration and it feels like your mouth is so much on fire, you can't really enjoy the food. Overall, I am impressed with the selection Best India has. I need to go back there a couple more times to really get a feel for the place, but from an initial visit, I like it. Now if they had the same amount of selection of Asian wares as well as their Indian wares (and changed their name to Best India and Asia), they might clinch the Melbourne/Palm Bay market.
