Went in this morning to get a couple balloons and last minute things for my daughters 4th birthday. Got there right as the opened up. When I went to check out, the counter girl told me that they didn't have enough time to blow up the balloons until after 2pm. I looked over and noticed about 5 employees chatting it up while they were all blowing up balloons. I asked if she could at least blow ONE ballon up for me. She said she would have to ask the manager. OMG. So at this point I'm frustrated as this is making no sense. So the manager named Yasmin waddles over to smugly tell me that they have can't blow up balloons until after 2 because they have too many ballon orders ahead of me. I again asked if she could "help me out" and just blow one up. I would bet it would have taken less then 30 seconds, and would have really saved the day for me. She said there was no way. That's a lie. My daughter was about to cry. So we left and I will NEVER buy from this place ever again. read more

There was only one reason I went into Party City and I am sure you know the reason to be obvious: plan for a party. My friend Heather was celebrating her 30th birthday. Given the fact if her organization skills were linked to survival humanity would be extinct, she depended on two of my friends and I to organize it. We were going for a Big Bang (K-pop boy band) sushi party and trust me, there were enough generic knick-knacks and party props to make such a theme happen at Party City. It is located on US-192 or New Haven Avenue in the same shopping strip as Jo-Ann's Fabrics, and Kiki's Breakfast and Luncheon. Upon entering, you are greeted with a sheer amount of everything you can get for a party. As a matter of fact, I suggest going back more than one time just to really get a feel of what Party City has to offer. There are numerous rows that section what you may want. For example, one row may be for eating which includes numerous designs and forms of cutlery, napkins, plates, and cups. Another aisle might have small little party favors. Another aisle might have specialty balloons. And so on. Going down each aisle, we were able to buy just enough items to make her birthday a successful because Lord knows if she planned it, it would have been a train wreck or a complete disaster (as proven when she was given the role of planning for her husband's birthday). Ultimately, this place is a-okay. I don't do too many parties so I can't say if it is amazing or not, but for what it did provide, it did the job. Will definitely consider Party City a stop if I ever plan another birthday party. read more

I was in the store 10/27. No one asked if they could help me. I finally found what I was hoping was the right costume. The girl behind the counter called me over and then rudely left the counter with me standing in front of her register. I bought a costume.(reluctantly) No signs any where for FINAL SALE. The costume is still in bag(never removed). I brought it back 10/28 and was told that I could not get a refund that they would exchange it for me. The receipt states that refunds with in 30days with original receipt. I have 3 kids and throw big parties. I am truly upset and WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

They got alot of fun stuff but I would not use their helium for balloons. I don't know what happened but the balloons only floated for about 6 hours and dropped. They use to last for days. Totally disappointed on it and became a waste of money read more

Short Version: awesome store, great selection, enormous square footage so be prepared to spend some time, prices are higher than same items at Wal-mart. Novel Version: I come here once or twice a year for various party decorations. At the immediate entrance are balloons. I'm guessing at least 100 different types. Starting with latex balloons that will last 4 hours, to square mylar balloons, to balloons that are life size, 'walk', and speak recorded messages. Prices range from $1 to $50. Staff will inflate balloons, add ribbon leashes, and bag them. Balloon anchors available in many themes. Also, there are individual letter & number stickers available for purchase to create a personalized message on the balloons. I have saved mylar balloons and returned to have them reinflated for a different occasion, for a small fee. One can also purchase air tanks & mass quantities of balloons for a festival or enormous gathering. I came in one morning to buy a bunch of mylar balloons. By afternoon, one was obviously leaking and dragging down the others. I returned to the store and they cheerfully exchanged it for a fresh one. However, even though one of the clerks recognized me from that morning, it was a huge deal to replace a balloon. Manager was consulted, the clerk from the morning spake a short testimony, etc. I finally dug through the car until I could find the receipt. I thought that level of security & protection was very extreme for one fricking balloon, especially since one employee personally recognized me. Really? Front staff don't even have the authority to switch out a defective balloon? Micromanaged indeed. There is a huge candy display up front; these candies are 15 for $1. Huge selection. Dig through cautiously, there will definitely be opened/unwrapped candies that are sticky and have a history of abuse. Front aisles are set up with the following general categories: current holiday decor, tableware separated by color, age/gender neutral decor themes (Tiki party), boys themes, girls themes, special occasion cards, wedding/bachelor/bachelorette/baby shower. Kids Birthday Theme items include: tablecloths, cups & plates, party favors (several types for each), favor bags, birthday buttons, themed 'Happy Birthday' banner, table & wall decor, and usually a specialty face mask/hat/crown for the birthday kid. Adult/Baby/Wedding sections contain what you'd expect, plus a bit more. The back of the store is mainly costumes (adult & child). There is a dressing room. Costumes range from Roaring 20s, Old West, Superheros, Medieval, etc. Check out the clearance section for some deals. One aisle is exclusively devoted to party foil confetti: punch-out stars, hearts, anything you can imagine, and usually in three sizes and multiple color arrangements. Never have I seen this smorgasbord of tabletop shinies anywhere else. If the occasion is very important and you have selected a theme, I would order online or call ahead and ensure adequate supplies set aside for you. I have seen sections stocked one day and cleared out the next (usually a holiday or popular children's character). If you shop one or two days before a holiday, you will be picking through the ratty items no one else wanted. Customers often explore items on the Party City website, and then come in to buy mass quantities of a specific theme. Holidays celebrated by fewer customers obviously have much less stock and it tends to go quickly: Chanukah, etc. This place is huge. They have shopping carts at the entrance, which indicates exactly how huge! You will probably spend more time, money and energy than you planned at this store. If you haven't selected a theme, you will likely be overwhelmed with the enormity of choices. For example: there are so many different types of Spiderman balloons (ranging widely in price) that it took me a lot of effort to choose just a few. Decor items range from very inexpensive ($1 crepe paper streamers), to fairly expensive. Other than the cashier guards, the staff was available, trained and friendly. read more

I went into this store to purchase my son's halloween costume. HUGE selection of Halloween costumes and accessories! I wasn't greeted by an employee at first, but once I informed her of my request she was pleased to assist me. I had 5 minute wait at the register due to the other register being held by a customer purchasing a large order that was requiring a lot of paperwork. My cashier was friendly and was kind enough to assist me in a timely manner. This store offers a 10% military discount. read more

The staff woman handling the costumes that has a shaved head has warts and she is not taking care of it. She had a big huge warts on the back of her head which is contagious. Why would I want to buy anything from the store that is going to go even near my face or hands if they have somebody that's a staff member touching all of it. It's not fair to the customers. Take care of your contagious diseases. Nobody wants to catch something because you're not being responsible and taking care of your own health. I'm never coming here ever again. I was so terrified that I fled the store. Of all people you could've hired you couldn't hire someone that was responsible with their health? The person looks like a Carney for crying out loud. Also the store smelled like crap. But I'm more concerned about the woman with the contagious warts than anything else. I'm disgusted that you would even let her work at the store. She shouldn't even be there if she has something that she could pass to somebody else. There's children going in and out of there for Pete sake. You're going to give it to those innocent kids. I had helped my future brother in-law plan his proposal to my sister during their visit. My family just relocated here from San Antonio Texas so we haven't begun to explore the area just yet. After googling places to purchase balloons, Party City was my best option for last minute touches. I read the reviews and was dreading my first encounter with them. I am thankful that I didn't allow the reviews to discourage my visit. I actually had one of my best customer service experiences there. The associates Monica, Jovana and Linmar were very helpful from start to finish. Not often does a sales associate tell you ways to purchase items to save you money. Now yes the bathroom isn't the cleanest however, it's very old so not sure how clean it could possibly get. Since I was there for supplies and not bathroom visit.... I am grateful for these ladies help in making the special moment perfect and memorable! Will visit again. read more
