Roses Department Store #553, 160 Malabar Rd., Palm Bay, FL 32907, PH: 321-674-1527 Transaction #9860
I was purchasing Tide Simply Clean & Fresh laundry detergent 92 oz. The sign posted on the shelves said $5.99. Five bottles that I was purchasing had a price of $5.99; six of the bottles had a price of $6.99. I told the cashier (Yvonne) about the error, and she called for a price check. The person who came to assist her said the price is $6.99. I disagreed and asked that he confirm the price listed on the shelf. And we went to the shelf to confirm. The Tide was in two locations. He referred to one location as the "home" where there was a price embedded in the shelf as $6.99. I said to him and showed him where the shelves full of tide were and where I got my bottles from and the sign that said $5.99.
This person said he was the Assistant Store Manager (Brian). He proceeded to insult me by saying the following: "this sign does not say this product," "how do I know the sign is for this," "signs get moved all the time." He then removed the sale sign for a different item, placed the sign under the Tide, and asked me should he sell me the Tide at that other price. I then pointed to four additional bottles of Tide still on the shelf that matched the posted sign of $5.99. His response to me was "I will give you ONE at $5.99 and the other ones at $6.99." He walked away from me and went back to the register. By the time I returned to the register he had adjusted the price for "ONE" item. Again, I asked why are you charging me more than the sticker price? He said, "we have handicapped people working here and they put the wrong price on." I again asked to purchase the ones priced at $5.99 for $5.99 and not $6.99. He said no, this is his store, and he will only sell me "ONE" at $5.99. I was in total disbelief by this time. I do not live in Palm Bay and was picking up additional products for someone other than myself. And, the encounter does not end yet.
I told the Assistant Manager I would contact his Headquarters. I purchased one bottle he ripped the price off (paid $5.99), four bottles with sticker price $5.99 (paid $6.99), and two bottles with sticker price of $6.99 (paid $6.99). I went to my car and pulled up the sales circular. I went back to the store and showed Assistant Store Manager Brian the ad. He said to me there was no date on the ad. WHAT!!! I questioned him and he said he does not have to honor the price in the sales ad. He astounded me by what he was saying. Bottom line he said there are no dates on circulars, and he was not giving me that price.
I have never experienced behavior and disregard for customer satisfaction to this extent and I hope I never will in the future. read more
