Jordan along with Habitat founders Millard and Linda Fuller developed the concept of partnership housing. Those in need of shelter would work side by side with volunteers to build affordable homes at no profit. House payments would be combined with no interest loans provided by supporters which would then be used to build more homes. In 1973, the Fullers took their house building concept to Zaire where they worked for three years. They then returned to the United States and founded Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn became involved and raised awareness. Habitat is now in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. They have helped 29 million people be able to afford safe shelter. In 1991 Habitat for Humanity launched the concept of the ReStore in Winnipeg, Canada. In 1992 the first Habitat for Humanity restore opened in the U.S. in Austin Texas. The ReStores accept donations from the community and home improvement stores and then resells the items to the public at a discounted price. The profit from the ReStore supports the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. This store in Palm Bay is part of the Space Coast Habitat for Humanity. They have helped 575 families in 37 years and they are designated as a Veteran Build affiliate serving the veterans in the community. They support programs for home ownership and home preservation through zero-interest mortgages, volunteer labor, and community support. I love supporting Habitat for Humanity and stop in the thrift stores whenever I can. This store was large and clean with a mixture of new and gently used items. They had furniture, home goods, home improvement items, and more. My favorite find was a vintage Capodimonte porcelain mirror vanity with perfume bottle. If you have any home improvement projects on the horizon, I encourage you to check them out.

She is very friendly and goes above and beyond to help customers. Since it is 45 minutes away from home, I will call on the phone and sometimes she will go check to see if they have a particular item which is not required it's more of a self-service store unless you need help loading your car. I have been shopping there over the last six years, recent management has really cleaned up the place nicely, things are more organized. My only dissatisfaction at this point is the prices have skyrocketed which there is no excuse for right now the rest of the world is experiencing higher retail prices because of higher fuel prices and lack of people willing to work. One day I was on my way in to go shopping, A customer was leaving and commented to me on how high the prices were. I told her everything I said above, and that if something has been sitting a long time they may work with you I take pictures to timestamp it. I will say that if you are A DIY person, this is the best place to find used items such as doors any type of trim. ey go beyond Any resale shop including Goodwill as far as home building materials. HAVE AN OPEN MIND AND YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED!…read more We have these stores in Georgia so when we my friend suggested we go, I just was not interested because of what I have seen. In GA, these stores have a general lack of inventory, poor quality clothing and overpriced items. She literally begged me to go, promising that this store was really nice and I would like it. Okay Shorty! (less that 5 ft and nipping at my heels until I give in). As soon as we enter the store, I am shocked because they actually have inventory!! What!! The store has several departments: children's, ladies, men's, housewares, accessories, shoes, personal care products and luggage. They still have a large selection of swimwear and cover-ups so if you are still looking, check them out. The clothing featured was stylish and well made. They actually had really cute pieces including, kimono covers, sleeveless tops and dresses. was a better quality than what I have found in some of these stores. I found a really nice black v-neck tee for my husband. It was thin and was very well designed with shoulder accents. I love roller bags because I use them when grocery shopping. They are perfect for hauling heavy produce and of course they are recyclable. Although I wasn't in the mood to purchase one at the time, I did take note that they are carried at this store and that they had a varied selection. This store reminds me of a small Ross or Burlington so there are possibilities but you will just need to have an open mind and a little bit of patience.

This…read moreshop has many of the usual items - Bathing suits, towels, water toys, surf supplies, t-shirts, umbrella and surf rentals and of course, tacky touristy souveniers. What sets this place apart and makes it stand out, however, is that every single item in the store is marked with a yellow price tag that has an incredibly high price listed, then a second orange price tag that shows a "sale price". It's actually quite funny - Almost as if the manager went to some sales and marketing conference where they taught that trick, and rather than having one or two racks of items that were marked with sale prices like that, he's marked every friggin' item in the store. Sweatshirts, for instance, were marked with a price of $28, then a sale sticker that showed the "sale price" of $12.50.

Honestly I respect this place. Every single item in the store is marked with a super high price (a…read morebasic beach chair was seriously marked $60) and then a different sale price which is still too high. Not just some items - every item. I want to know 1) the owner who thinks this works but more importantly 2) the people this does work on so I can sell them a great deal on my college loans. I bought two basic, thin, small beach towels for $25 but hey at least they were on sale as the original price would've been $25 each. Oh wait, also, lol, they have sunscreen right? But the sunscreen price goes up with the SPF, so that the 15 is 7.99 and the 30 is 8.99 etc until the 70spf is like 13 dollars. Again, how can you not respect that?
