I went to return my book, and was told that there would be a charge for the corners being bent. First off, I never even used the book. Not once. It stayed in my backpack the entire semester The book was like that when I received it. I know, my own fault for not documenting it. Secondly, wear and tear is normal. It's made out of paper... It's not going to stay perfect! $28 for a bent corner. The used book has a value of about $40. So, in the owner's mind, that corner was worth more than half the book. I was told I could either pay the $28 or buy the book for $65. I went next door to Jackbackers and sold another book I had bought. I explained the situation with this "damaged" rental, and they couldn't believe what they were hearing. They told me $28 was astronomical and that they wished they could help; but, they couldn't offer me $65 to buy the book. All in all, I learned three valuable lessons from this experience. 1) Kampus Books is a ripoff, and they will never have my business again. 2) Always fill out the damage report completely when you pickup your rental. 3) If you are in Nac and looking for a book or any other merchandise, GO TO JACKBACKERS. I don't want any other student to get swindled like I just did today.

I grew up in Archer City, Larry McMurtry's home town. I bought the book when it first came out and it has that error that distinguishes this as the first printing. He signed both of these books when I asked him after a talk he gave. They have a signed, first edition on their website listed for $1,000!!! They could have offered me a decent price, maybe $600 for both, and still had a $500-$600 profit. This was an insult. I remember that a long time ago I brought some quality books to sell at their Dallas store. That offer was an insult also. People must be desperate to sell their books to take the pittance HPB offers for books, then marks them to half of new price regardless of condition. I've purchased books there but I realize now that they don't respect book sellers.

The selection of toys could be better, but you can get just about anything you might want here, and let's face it.. You know what you want here, no need for me to go into detail of what that might be. Everything is locked up, so you have to ask for assistance to look at anything closely. It's defiantly female friendly, but if your a shy type male or female, bring a friend who has no qualms asking for assistance with items your not comfortable discussing with a stranger. They have a small sections for outfits, a larger section for reading/viewing materials and another section of the store containing other things that, if you're reading this, you may perhaps have an interest in. The prices will be more than on Amazon - but so is everywhere else. What you can do is get a better understanding of certain dimensions and power capabilities. I certainly don't go here often, but when I have had occasion to stop in, nothing about the visit caused me to feel anything but a welcome customer.
