Paved paseos weave through the 3 acres of beautifully manicured landscape. One large swing set sits between 2 children's jungle gym/play areas. There are 4 covered concrete picnic benches each conveniently including it's own bbq grill. There are 15 parking spaces w/2 reserved Handicapped parking slots directly in front of the community building & restrooms. If you find the lot to be full on a busy day, there is plenty of street parking on Flower. On the East end of the parking area, a full sized fenced-in outdoor basketball court takes up realty. This is a long awaited beautiful upgrade to this neighborhood park. Have a wonderful day or night. deez® out!

Griffith Manor Park's a favorite place for me. I can eat crazy bread dipped in sauce and walk in circles forever..... However, not today because the basketball court is packed and there's no parking.

Bbqs at every table (somewhat gross bring your foil or own BBQ basket).

This park is super close to my best buddy's house, so we take my dog there sometimes. It's really great for her because she's a princess, and likes parks with both path (concrete or something similar preferred!) AND grass. Too bad a lot of the grass here is somewhat dry, and my princess hates the dry feeling on her wittle paws. :P Anywho, I REALLY like the little individual table/bench pod thingies that they have throughout the park. There's a large park bench with an awning as well as a small BBQ every 100 feet or so, so families can maybe have a little picnic barbeque with some privacy (well, sort of). I just think its a cool concept. There's also a good amount of seating, and an okay playground for kids. I like that it's all enclosed, too. I didn't go into the bathrooms, but they seemed pretty clean/new. Honestly, it's not the biggest or fanciest park, but I would give it a try. There's a path going around the whole park, and it's fun to walk your little doggie there, and maybe run around on the grass a bit. ;) Overall, it's a good little family park in an otherwise semi-industrial neighborhood. If you're in the way, give it a look, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for it. It can also get a bit more crowded on the weekends (as expected).

    Dirty walls

While looking for a location for my daughter's birthday party, we came across this hidden gem and decided it was perfect. The park building is rented by the hour with a $200 deposit. On the day of the party the inside of the building was not what I expected. The floors were dirty and the walls were dirty and chipped. The city worker who let us in said the city should invest in remodeling the building but didn't know if or when it would happen. There were plenty of chair and tables. The worker was very persistent in letting me know that everyone had to be out of the building by the time stated in the rental agreement. He explained this several times before he left and several times during his check up of the event. The parking lot is tiny and many of our guest had to park down the block. Overall I love this park and the location, I just wish the actual building was cleaner.

The park building comes with 10 tables and 50 chairs.... Super convenient.

Nice hidden park. There is a fence around most of it & shade trees. It is usually difficult to find parking.

You can play poker, man jong, rummy, dominoes, etc. You can join their book club or enjoy some gardening with other folks. There are a number of arts and crafts classes as well as dance classes. One thing that, to me, is impressive is that they have a computer lab. I think it's awesome to see older generations trying to increase their skills, whether it be typing, letter writing, email, or just learning to surf the web at all. I think I saw mention of there being latin dance, hula, salsa, dancing classes, yoga and tai chi were also some other activities. I'm telling you, there is something for everyone here. They have a spring fundraiser festival coming up. That should be fun. I bought a ticket for their In n Out lunch. They have a huge parking lot and tons of regulars. Inexpensive lunches are sold here daily. One of the last trips that they offered their seniors was to Catalina. There are so many people who come here. I can't imagine where they'd go if this place disappeared. Every now and then, I help one of their computer lab instructors with computer questions. It's amazing. Some of the questions are far more complex than how do you send an email. I'm really fond of this community center. I hope it'll continue to be a stable spot in the community for the seniors to come. It is especially helpful when it becomes super hot and the elderly need a place to stay cool. GPACC does a lot of good for the folks in our community. Great!

I'm not usually a fan of change, but they redesigned it with such thoughtfulness and heart that I can't even protest. Just to name a few of the updates, it now has eight tennis courts, outdoor exercise equipment, four pickleball courts, a basketball court, a soccer field, a splash pad, and winding walking paths. For a snack shop at a park, the selection was pretty impressive and unexpectedly high quality. Instead of the usual generic freezer-bin options, they carried a surprisingly curated variety of international ice creams and treats that actually felt thoughtfully chosen. The freezer selection alone looked like a tiny specialty market hidden inside a recreation center. The entire setup also matched the atmosphere of the park itself: clean, sunny, well-maintained, and quietly elevated in that very Southern California way where even the snack shop somehow has aesthetic range.
