We had to have our Gas Hot water heater replaced. We got a bid a couple of week ago from Griffis. The bid was done in a very professional way and was explained to us in a way we could understand the steps needed. Jeff was friendly and polite. On Saturday Sept 31 at midnight the hot water tank started to leak. I called on Sunday and left a message about the tank. On Monday morning the Brienne called and schedule Tuesday morning for someone to replace the tank. Mike came out and was a very pleasant tech. He introduce himself and started work on the tank immediately . He made sure all floors was protected from any damage and he cleaned up after himself. The workmanship was outstanding and the tank was installed very neatly. As he installed he explained what he was doing and took time to answer any question we had for him. After the job was done he ask us if we had any questions or concerns and he went over the operation of the tank one more time. A huge shout out to Brienne at Griffis Heating. She was able to identify my Furnace/air conditioner issues over the phone and suggested that my pump was most likely plugged. I was able to take the pump apart, clean it thoroughly then blow compressed air through the drain tube. Got it all back together and Voila!!! Furnace Repair On the 3rd day of snow in Seattle, Suddenly my furnace was not able to produce warm air at all. I called Griffis Heating, Brienne was patiently spending a long time on the phone with me, trying to guide me through all the steps to make it works again, but unfortunately, it still did not work out. She then decided to arrange for her technician to come over to my house and repair it for me the next day. It was still snowing, and roads are full of icy snow, but Jeff, the best technician from Griffis drove here to save my Furnace as promised. He is excellent and Knowledgeable ! he got it fixed, and my Furnace is working excellent now! The staff at Griffis Heating was amazing. From Peggy the sales rep who came to my home and measured and inspected the workspace, to all the men who came and actually installed a gas line for my new range. The range installer was impressed with how well it was done as well. I had called another vendor and their sales person wouldn't even come out to my house to see what was needed for the job. She said, "we do these all the time and it will be about $xx". I was not impressed with her at all. They worked with me while I waited for my inspection that didn't happen when expected. Avoid at all costs. Furnace service was quoted at $179 plus tax. If the technician "has to walk to the truck for a filter" that is an additional $20. making their base price for service $199.00. AAA Heating and Cooling did same job for $139.00 including the filter. My real estate agent made the arrangements. Called to pay for the service (give credit card). Snowflake office person "didn't like my tone" when I explained I was the homeowner and responsible party. She unilaterally cancelled the appointment and hung up on me. Never raised my voice nor said anything bad to her. She interrupted me many times and was very rude. All I tried to do was pay her. She's costing them business. But, I should thank her because she saved me $60.00 as AAA was much cheaper and they did a great job! Avoid! read more

I called first thing in the morning, not expecting a lot considering it's the day after Christmas and was pleasantly surprised to find that they would be out that day. Had nothing but a fantastic experience with this company. The receptionist was very warm and was quick to help me find the earliest appointment, was very clear on costs to expect and overall was a pleasure to work with. The first experience with one of their in person employees was with James their very skilled, knowledgeable, and professional repair technician who gave us very straightforward advice. He explained to us the cost benefit of when our furnace motor does go out (because you can just hear that it's on its way) versus total replacement based on the age of the furnace it's self right now and how much a new furnace costs compared to the high cost of replacing a motor. We are those type of people so we appreciated the facts and his straight forward honesty. Second experience was with Kurt, who provided us an estimate today. Kurt was also extremely knowledgeable and professional. He gave us several different quote option to discuss and then helped guide us to make an informed decision together on which option to formally quote. We received the written quote within 3 hours at the most, and he followed up to ensure we received it via email just in case which I loved too. He also helped find all of the available rebates from utility companies as well any IRS utility related rebates. This company has had nothing but stellar communication since my first call and did everything they could to get out to service and repair our furnace as well as provide us a no-cost/obligation quote. All 3 different lines of Communication from the receptionist to the repair technician to the sales manager were fantastic. Our family would highly recommend Griffis heating to anyone!! read more

I have an old gas heater and it started crackling when the air came out. I didn't want to spend $100+ to have someone come look at it if it was a filter issue or something minor I could fix. Most people don't find purchasing a furnace an enjoyable experience, but the team at Griffis made it so. Our older Trane furnace began acting up, and the first company that came out couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and quoted to replace it with an entry level unit. Called Griffis and they came out and diagnosed the issue and then discussed the pros and cons of repairing our existing unit. It took me over a year to write this review because I wanted to see the long-term results of this expensive investment. Griffis is an outstanding company overall. From my first e-mail, Kurt was beyond patient with me I asked hundreds of questions, what if's and asked for multiple quotes under different configurations for my home. Kurt took the time to come to my house and measured the home, vents, returns and calculated the correct heating and cooling loads. He then spent many days via email to help me pick the best system for my home. Never once did he try to up sell me or put any pressure on me. He provided pro's and con's to all systems and advised me where my dollars should go to provide maximum comfort for my home and best energy savings. The installation crew was outstanding! They pulled all the correct permits and the installation tech was the most OCD guy I have ever met! He sealed every joint, crack and screw hole and took real pride in his work to make sure everything was setup correctly and was working 100% before he left. The electrical and gas permits passed with no issues and the system has kept us warm an cool all year long! I would highly encourage all Yelpers to give Griffis a try! You won't regret it! Again I have used Griffis Heating to move ducts in my house during a remodel of the kitchen. What a great experience. Brian came out gave me a quote on installing a gas line and duct work. The price was so good I did not even attempted any other quote after receiving his price. Jeff and Mike came out to do the work and talking about customer service....they was great! I would not recommend this company what so ever! In June 2010 I paid $5,700 for a new furnance with a 10 year year parts and labor warranty. March 2011 the furnance stopped working - less than 2 years later. I was charged $350 for repairs to get it running again being told that the "pump" was not covered by the warranty. At the time of sale I was given a brief document stating 10 years parts and labor warranty - but absolutely no details and was not advised that some "things" on the new furnance would not be covered. I feel RIPPED-OFFED by this company. I would NOT recommend using Griffis Heating!!! read more

Normally my heating/AC unit works fine. No surprise as I've had James come every summer to give the system a check up. He's thorough and does a great job. Last night it appeared that the blower had gone haywire and wouldn't shut off. We called after hours and got Brian, who promptly connected us with James, who patiently walked us through a series of diagnostics to arrive at the solution: the bathroom fan. We've worked with a variety of companies that service various household appliances. I REALLY wish Griffis did more than heating/AC because they would become our go-to company for everything.
