I travel between Washington D.C. and New York City quite often. I have traveled with many other bus companies, but Greyhound has been the best I have traveled with so far. The only downside of this station is the limited times of departure from here compared to Port Authority. What I like about Greyhound is that there is an actual covered station for the bus. The A train is also at this station so you don't have to walk outside to continue your travels. Other companies have their pick-up and drop off on the street, which sucks if it's raining out. More often than not, you also have to walk a couple blocks to find the nearest train. The busses usually are a bit late, but it's understandable because the bus I take starts in Boston and picks us up on the way down. Every time there has been a delay, an attendant notified passengers of the new ETA of the bus. Today, my bus left only 10 minutes late, which is the best I've experienced so far. The seats are very comfortable and this is the most leg room I've had on any bus. The wifi's a bit iffy, but that's consistent across all companies. The outlets are great to have so I never have to worry about running low on battery. On the website or app, you get discounts the more you travel (starting with 6 points = 15% off your ticket). You can either print your ticket or show them your phone to check-in. No bus service is perfect, but I'm liking Greyhound the most. Happy travels! read more

Awful. Arrived on time for our coach which shut its doors in our face and drove off. This company has no direct customer service, the only way to complain is by submitting a request. They stopped taking customer service calls (I wonder why). Not to mention the coach we did take a few days before was cramped, smelly and had rude staff. The station itself is ok, but the buses from GWB are VERY unreliable, especially the 9:45am bus from Philly to Hartford and Boston. This bus is ALWAYS 3 hours late, and sometimes it won't even make it to Boston as the driver would end up running out of driving hours. It's a shame because this station is near my house but what's the point of having a bus station by your house if you can't rely on the buses that stop there? I'd rather eat the crowded subway to Midtown and take a Boltbus in the middle of the street than wait 3 hours past my scheduled time for a bus that might not even get me to where I'm going. read more

If I said I hated this bus service it would be an understatement. I used this deplorable bus company while a college student at Binghamton University. Despite the fact that it was usually slow, it was the only thing that left at 4am on Monday and got me to school right on time for my first class. (I hate Binghamton and would wait until the last minute to leave NYC) Anyway, one day in February the scheduled bus driver decided to train an obviously unfit young boy. Why let the rookie drive back 4 hours on an icy road is beyond me.There was no problem at first, but then.... It starts snowing, and for those of you that know upstate NY, well a foot of snow is the bare minimum. The snow is coming down like crazy. The roads are icy and this boy is speeding on the highway. Literally 5 minutes before getting to the station in Bing we crash into a tree. And no not like a slight dent, I meant the whole front of the bus is done, the exit door no longer exists and people are bloody. The driver instructing the new guy breaks his leg (like bone jutting out), this older lady broke her nose, almost everyone is bleeding, and I scraped the side of my face as well as cut my head. Greyhound refused to do anything about it: no refund, no sorry, no anything. I rather walk than use their services. I truly and utterly despise them. read more

The Greyhound terminal in Port Authority in NYC is ridiculous, and dirty. I have many times seen pigeons, and pants-less women... angry, pants-less woman. Ugh. And I do not care what they say - they most definitely sell more tickets than there are seats on a single bus. (I have found out that Mega bus and Bolt bus do not - thankfully. Even though Greyhound owns one of them... weird.) I do not drive, and mass transit EVERYWHERE. I can say, with experience and confidence, that Greyhound for the most part is not the way to go. The good thing about them selling more tickets than seats? - If Mega and Bolt are sold out, buy a Greyhound, get there EARLY, and you'll make the bus. read more

Laughably bad. You'll get to your destination at one of the lower prices in the market if you pay some time in advance, but sooner or later your patience is going to be tested with lazy/indifferent staff, terrible customer service, and delays, delays, delays (sometimes up to 6 hours). Note that this is particular ONLY to the Port Authority bus station in NYC - I've taken Greyhound buses in other states on different coasts on several occasions and they'll all been fairly decent. PABT is really not that sketchy. It's much nicer and busier than many urban bus stations. This station has received a few improvements in the last couple years. Anyway, the express buses have outlets on them, which is a step ahead of most airlines, and that is pretty awesome. read more

Took Greyhound to Atlantic City on 7/27/20. There was NO social distancing on the lines or inside the packed bus. No temperture checks, and once the bus was in route, some passengers removed their masks. They were laughing and talking without any consideration towards those next to them. Worst service I have ever received. Back in February, I caught the greyhound and it suppose to leave at 12 something instead it was delayed for 2-3 hours but it mad it in time to the departure location I was going to. Recently as in April 27, I book a ticket to leave at 1 am it was delayed by 4 hours and we ended up leaving at 5 PM, I made it to my destination by 11 AM and missed my ride to attend an occasion instead I stayed at the bus stop all day and request for an exchange from my ticket I already purchased for April 28 at 10:25 PM to April 27 at 10:25 PM. As I wait to just go back home all in 24 hours, 10:25 hit and the bus is a little late. I look online and found out that the my trip was CANCELED. I received no notification or email of this situation. Mind you I'm not from the area. Luckily, another passenger found another bus company, Mega Bus that leave at 12AM from Washington DC to go to New York. I was able to go back home safe and sound. I will NEVER recommend this bus system to anyone. All this happened because they didn't have drivers for the third time. read more

Greyhound is absolutely TERRIBLE. After I recently booked a ticket to Delaware, I had a question, so I called their helpline. First, the people who work at their call center either cannot comprehend English or just don't care, because I could not get a clear answer. So, I write a detailed message to their email asking the same question. I receive a reply back less than a week before my trip basically telling me that my ticket was CANCELED! WTF, I did not cancel my ticket! I call the helpline again to find out whether I have a valid ticket. I ask a clear question: tell me whether my ticket is, or is not, canceled. Apparently, Greyhound customer service reps can't handle simple questions. After approximately 20+ minutes on the phone, he finally informs me that my ticket had NEVER been canceled, BUT he had taken the step of effectively canceling the ticket to rebook it with the Port Authority station. WTF!!! That's not what I wanted. Not only that, but he wouldn't state that I had a ticket!! Instead, I now have to call three days prior to my trip with customer service to determine whether I could pick up my ticket, which leads me to believe that it's not guaranteed. What a nightmare! Worst customer service that I have ever experienced. read more

Very lousy customer service bus was late going to Washington D.C. I had trouble finding my e ticket and he had our names in the reservations after 10 minutes he decided to ask for identification instead of asking from the beginning making the bus more late, then coming back we had a transfer in Newark to go to new New York the bus was late again and the driver of the bus to New York decided not to wait for us as if it was the passengers fault. There was no other bus to NY until 7pm I ended up taking an uber.Never again will I take this line. read more

This bus line is dog sh*t. I accidentally bought a ticket to print out and then wasn't able to print and was told I had to SEND IN THE TICKET VIA SNAIL MAIL in order to get a refund!! Are you f*cking kidding me? Such a scam! Then I found out I was charged twice for both the internet ticket and the one I had to buy at the station because they would accept me SHOWING them the damn ticket like every other bus line does. Terrible customer service. Recently someone took my luggage from the station accidentally because we had the same duffel bag which is understandable. The persons duffel bag had a name and an address on it. So I called the greyhound station so they can tell me her information because I had already tried to contact her but she hasn't answered or contacted me back. So once I called the man he instantly had an attitude telling me to leave him alone and that he can't do anything about it so he kept sending me to different departments thinking I had time for that. Very bad experience bus driver at Philadelphia station was so ignorant and rude . I had my round trip ticket from nyc to Philadelphia on my way back to NYC i was early my bus should leave 11:45 pm I asked the front desk employee he told it should be ok if there is available seats on 9:50 pm bus the driver can honer that I waited till he checked ever one in and I asked nicely if there is any available seat which I'm 100% sure there is more than one His answer in front of his supervisor was I don't do that any more I asked the supervisor what is his name she refused to answer and I asked him directly what's your name he refused to till me I felt bad that kind of workers are still exists and stepped out of the station I found another company around the corner they have a bus going to NYC at 11:00 pm it was a lot better service nicer people and safe and fast same charge Never again dealing with greyhound I don't recommend it to any one if I can give less than one star I would have to read more

I am on a bus right now that was delayed three hours with no communication on the status ... another bus arrived before this one came and they didn't even think to put the delayed passengers on that earlier bus... in addition because the driver had to reset his hours and can't drive anymore he called when we were 2 hours away from our first stop so another driver would be here. The dispatch stated the other driver is 40 minutes away so now we are delayed once again... THIS IS VERY BAD BUSINESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL... Terrible experience not once but twice. Today was the second. First was when coming back from Pittsburgh to NY; waited at the bus station from around 10PM to 1~2AM because the bus didn't come until late midnight. I mostly repressed how exhausting and horrible that experience was because as other reviewers have said they never offered any explanation or apology. Tried to call today about exchanging my ticket for a different date; have never experienced such incompetent customer service in my life. I rarely get irritated or angry and I was close to the point of tears. Couldn't process the payment for the $20 exchange fee on three different credit cards which they charged EIGHTEEN TIMES. Gave them my debit card, payment went through, then he transferred my call to a different department when I asked about the 18 charges before letting me know whether my exchange was complete or if the third payment method I gave even worked. The next person I talked to said nothing was changed and the date and time was still the same. Then I was hung up on and I had to call back and explain my situation again, only to have the same problem. I eventually ran out of payment methods I could provide, as they kept getting declined (even though I've checked and there is nothing wrong on my end with my bank accounts) only receiving more and more pending charges of $20. Ended up being so exasperated that I gave up on exchanging my ticket and bought a new bus ticket with a different bus company instead. Their seats aren't good, their outlets are loose, and the bus is old and dirty anyway, so this is just another reason for me to definitely quit this bus. read more

Taking a Peter Pan bus from New York to Philly. The bus left 15 minutes later than scheduled, no big deal. After an hour and twenty minute drive, it abruptly stopped. It pulled over on the side of the highway (near Trenton). No announcement was made. People in front of the bus said there was enough gas. Lights went off soon. Nobody in the bus knew what happened, except seeing the bus driver talking to the driver of another car in front of us for 20 minutes. After 35 minutes, we saw him filling gas on the side of the bus with another guy. All done in silence. We don't know where the gas was from. The driver finally came back, tried to start the bus over and over again, it would't move. After the 15th time, he made an announcement in a low voice that the gas is not enough to get us to Philly, that he would drop us in a service station and we could take a subway to Philly! During all this time, completely in the dark, we (passengers) called 911, greyhound in NYC and in Philly, nobody answers. We are now on the bus for 3 hours and we are still in the middle of New Jersey. During all this time the bus smells bad toilet. Good luck or never take greyhound ever again. read more
